Re: Old School College Football - The Washington Examiner
I met a Tulane alumnae a few years ago that played volleyball for the Wave. We were at a BBQ and Blues festival. She despised both Cowen and Dickson, who were still at Tulane at the time. It was refreshing to hear from a relatively young alumnae that she had the same take on Cow/Dick that most of us...

Re: Fascinating data on programs/conferences and blue chip recruits
A few years back I did some research and posted either here or on NOLA.com about how many 4 and 5 star recruits go to non "P5" teams. At that time there were maybe 8 five star recruits that had gone to a non-P5 the previous four years, and about two dozen 4 star recruits that went to a G5 ...

Re: Old School College Football - The Washington Examiner
The author of the very nice article before beginning to write apparently drank a couple of large pitchers of Cow/Dick Kool-Aid. Yulman can be made to work, but the Dome was never our problem. I'm afraid the halo effect around cowen will never fade, at this point. Last week I overheard a Kid sitting...

Some of them are funny, some are stupid and some I just don't understand at all! It's even funnier that they don't identify the Tulane player, as I don't know most of them by face.

Fun read and very favorable for Tulane: https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/old-school-college-football-minus-the-pomp-at-old-tulane?fbclid=IwAR0xRQaKq2bde51d664BoV7YdLOzhI6BFxEbxgDEjTuuSE8-gv2NJOEijww I like where his heads at, but in all honesty it’s the same size crowd as we had in the do...

Re: Auburn Score Prediction Thread
I was going to wait until later in the week. But here's what I think:
Tulane 28
Auburn 31
Tulane stays with Auburn into the 4th quarter when Auburn pulls away. Our Greenies score late, but don't recover the onside kickoff.

Re: USA Today Top 25 Coaches Poll
September 3, 2019 - Tulane receives 4 votes https://www.usatoday.com/sports/ncaaf/polls/amway-coaches-poll/ I think it's great that we got 4 votes. Let's see how we do this week and if we can up the count. This week means a whole lot more than the FIU game. We're not playing to get votes, we're pla...

ESPN: “Military Bowl Presented by Northrop Grumman Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, Annapolis, Maryland Dec. 27, noon, ESPN Bonagura: Florida State vs. Tulane Schlabach: North Carolina vs. Tulane” Starting to get some hype. . . I’m game for either. Deal. Outside of NY6 or somehow playing LSU thi...

Re: Dominik Koepfer
What's ironic is Dominik told reporters that his biggest change this year, leading to his improved play, was a focus on diet and conditioning. He came right out and said he had close to a total disregard for both while in college. And he was the best player in the NCAA for almost two years. This is...

so far it looks like "None" U and "TOTO" have done an excellent job https://www.nola.com/sports/high_schools/article_b62fdc04-cc22-11e9-b67b-0f8107d5e6fa.html We've got two on that list and both are ranked highly not only in state but in the country as well. Fritz and staff have...

Re: No WWL TV Willie Fritz coaches show
Oh well. We finally get worthy and no Sunday night TV coaches show for the 2nd straight year. I prefer the radio program...much more interactive...Tulane should link the radio, with video of the show to their web site.....or better yet, buy the air time on some TV station and re-broadcast...this ai...

Re: Attendance
Attendance will always be rough in an age when you can watch every game in the country from the comfort of your home. Especially in August in the South when it’s 90 degrees plus. Also, schools across the country have made it too tough financially and logistically to attend games while trying to cas...

Re: Tulane v. FIU Date Announced
Thursday night games eliminate many fans that might otherwise be able to travel in for a Saturday game—especially for the season opener. Does Tulane or FIU have any say in the matter? I’m guessing they don’t. We do. We can schedule it for Saturday. If TV later comes along and through our conference...

Thursday night was obviously much better than Saturday afternoon. Exactly. And if we set the start time at 7 PM Saturday either the AAC or the TV network could have moved it to Saturday afternoon, something an earlier post said was not possible. That post said the AAC and TV had no say in non-confe...

Re: Top 25
We need to show progress this Saturday by not getting curb stomped. Let this game be a memorable one by Tulane showing up to play. THIS. Top 25 talk is way premature at this point. Let's see if we can hang with a top 15 team. We haven't beaten a ranked team in 35+ years. That would be the 1983 Yom ...

Re: Dominik Koepfer
Unfortunately he lost the 4th set in a tiebreak after being up 2-0. But he had a good run and will be ranked 18th in the world after this tournament ends. I think he'll be ranked around 80th. He got to the round of 16 after coming into the tournament 118. You don't jump that far based on one week. ...
