Re: 2017 Road to Omaha
It's not Coach Jewett's fault Tulane does not have one (ONE) projected 2017 MLB draft prospect in the BA Top 200. Coach Jewett, as Vandy's recruiting coordinator has 4: Kyle Write #4 RHP Jeren Kendall #11 OF Will Toffey #171 3B Reed Harris #174 RHP I like those numbers. Two pitchers in that number....

Re: 2017 Road to Omaha
I have no inside info into Andy's life. I just know what everyone does, he started his college coaching career at LSU not Tulane. Andy was the LSU hitting and recruiting coordinator. Two things Tulane could have used in 2015 and 2016. I think Tulane would be in a better position today if Andy was h...

Re: Andy Cannizaro
I too would have offered the job to Cannizaro, but seeing as the Miss St job opened in November, he had had previous conversations with the Miss St people behind the scenes and expressed reservations during the hiring process about the ability to recruit at Tulane, does anybody think he might have ...

Re: 2017 Road to Omaha
"He probably didn't even know AC was interested in a college coaching job." So are you saying, Andy expressed no interest in an assistant job with Coach Pierce? On anther note, where did Pierce's recruiting classes rank (2014, 2015, 2016)? What recruiting classes did Pierce get to use (Ja...

Re: 2017 Road to Omaha
We get it. Let's give it a break. Jewett is our head coach, that isn't changing. We need to embrace it and accept the fact and start pulling for him to be successful. Your post was just to stir things up. Reminds me of half the country still trying bring obama back or change the outcome of the elec...

Re: The economics of baseball
Coastal is as much of a power as we ever were if not more so. From 2001-now they've missed the NCAA Tournament 3 times. Won a regional 3 times, national seed once.
More teams trying is definitely a big difference. We have to change things or it's going to be really tough.

Re: The economics of baseball
Did I say anything about SELA winning a NC? They haven't done anything once they got there yet. I'm talking about our program trying to win a NC. Many bigger schools with resources are now trying and that hurts us immensely. So Coastal Carolina has greater resources? People go on about how good thi...

I am pulling for him.
Not bad mouthing him, just stating what I've heard
But none of those things should have much impact on the success or failure of the program

Re: Q & A with Coach Jewett
Great write up by guillory. I have faith in you coach jewett! Yes the season did not end the way we wanted, but now that it's over and all our players are gone, we need the best recruiter in the business. We all need to get on board, he's our skipper! His track record says its him, we just need to ...

in all honesty, i wouldnt want this baseball job as it sits right now. your hands are tied behind your back and you cant compete with other unviersity offers. That has to be fixed. Does anyone on this board really not know anyone at the top to get this fixed and put a end to this no stacking issue?...

Re: College baseball
Riser did go for the La. Tech job last year. That is from a very inside source at SELA. Just to be clear from the beginning all I wanted was a national search. Many felt the same way. All the names that surfaced including Walter were qualified. In time we'll see how it plays out. I hope they all su...

Re: College baseball
Anyone else saw Doug Mouton's piece last night on the 10 PM news about Dannen hiring Jewett over Cannizaro and Riser? It asked a lot of the questions asked here frequently and was pretty hard-hitting. He brought up the fact that Cannizaro or Riser was a no-brainer choice, yet Dannen went with a guy...

Re: 2017 Road to Omaha
our very own scott sidwell screwed over the mid majors and left uconn out in favor a sec team. AAC was the #4 best RPI conference and only got 3 teams in. Uconn finished 1 game out of 1st place in the #4 best rpi conference and had an RPI of #38. Were passed over by several teams in the mid 40s RPI...

Re: 2017 AAC Baseball Championship Clearwater Fla
But, let’s look at coaching. All manner of complaints have surfaced from various fans but several continue to arise. The first, and to me, a legitimate concern, was the poor start to the season. Was the team unprepared as some would suggest? Hard to argue; they played very poorly. Did Coach Jewett ...

Re: 2017 AAC Baseball Championship Clearwater Fla
Ok, I know this will get blasted, but so be it. But I think at some point during the year Jewett decided to play for next year and not this year. Maybe Dannen gave him a pass on his first year. Next year's team will have a TON of guys that haven't played at this level. I hope Dannen hasn't give him...

I never agreed on that and just because some posters here agree on something doesn't necessarily make it so. LSU won the SEC and probably locked up a national seed. LSU was a much more talented team than Miss State
