Re: Nicholls St. Game Thread

Ryan Griffin was and is light years better than Banks. Our o-line was constantly told by Griff at the line of scrimmage what the D was doing and what blocking scheme to use. Banks either hasn't mastered the RPO the way many others running it (including a true Frosh from Wake) have, or the coaching s...

Re: Nicholls St Prediction Thread

The Colonels keep it close for a quarter or so. But they're not the FCS team that ends our winning streak against FCS opponents (it will happen, when we play a top FCS team). Tulane 44 NSU 17 Scheduling a top FCS team is very bad scheduling in general. If you want something tricky, go play a decent...

Re: Three Star QB Jack Abraham

I don't get why folks are infatuated with Jack Abraham. He committed, de-committed and has moved on with his life. So should we. I'm sure people posting in this thread think more about Jack than Jack does about Tulane. It's not like he's Tanner Lee for crying out loud.   My money ...

Re: Ryan Griffin

Jameis Winston is suspended for Tampa Bay vs Saints this Sunday. Bucs name Ryan Fitzpatrick starter over Ryan Griffin. Should Fitz go down or have a bad game Ryan Griffin may see some action. Winston is out for three games. I hope Griff gets his first meaningful NFL snaps. There's a short vid of Gr...

This talk about the lines, the Kansas game, etc. should be in the game thread, not the prediction thread. I was about to post, but I'm taking it to that thread.

Re: Wave beats the Wave ,loses to Wake Forest in OT 23-17

We couldn’t run the ball because our Offensive Line in the first half couldn’t block anyone. As for Banks on the read option, am I the only one who watches this offense and thinks the coordinator precalls what read he is going to make. He is either the worst read option qb ever and is making the wr...

Re: Nicholls St Prediction Thread

No line yet. Should be out tomorrow. Tulane 27 Nicholls State 16 Defense is good enough to keep Nicholls in check, but no confidence that the Offense can rack up a ton of points based on what I saw Thursday night. I totally agree. But for the sake of $hits and gigles, I'll say: Tulane 35 NSU 21 I'm...

Re: Wave beats the Wave ,loses to Wake Forest in OT 23-17

Ok, after having a couple of days to digest what took place, and having watched the game (with the remote and ability to fast forward) again, here's my takeaways: 1. Our offensive line played well in the first half, and wore down to the point where it was downright bad in the 4th quarter. 2. Our pa...

Re: Wave beats the Wave ,loses to Wake Forest in OT 23-17

I do not debate that in the second half, our O line was like a matador. Ole! But in the first half it held it's own. I don't care if you had great seats or were in the GD Blimp, if you watch the replay or tape it doesn't change the fact that IN THE FIRST HALF Banks was rarely pressured, and stood f...

Re: Wave beats the Wave ,loses to Wake Forest in OT 23-17

I was there and had the full field view not the limited TV view. The O-Line did not play well. Willie's quote says it all. It's the same ole same ole with the line issues. Have at it. I'm going to enjoy the Labor Day weekend. So, pig headed as always, you won't let the video speak for itself. You a...

Willie and I watched the same game. We both felt we couldn't run block or pass protect. Yeah, right. Then I want what you're drinking or smoking. WATCH THE FIRST HALF. You're wrong, In the second half we didn't block. But you're changing the argument in your typical style because you are wrong.

Re: Service sucked

It was a school night and the Saints were playing in the 'dome at the same time. Anyone that puts ANY measure of interest into preseason game 4 isn't a college football fan, and is probably too deep into their love affair with their NFL team that they won't be swayed anyway. There's very few player...

Re: Wave beats the Wave ,loses to Wake Forest in OT 23-17

1. First drive I don't have on DVR. Second drive I start at the point of the Wake safety getting ejected. Three and out from there: 1st play Banks has time and throws a pass to Clewis that should have been caught, but it was thrown behind him and would have gained no more than 5 yards. Running play ...

Re: Nicholls St. Game Thread

Tulane has never lost to a 1AA or FCS opponent and Saturday won’t change that. We are better than Kansas. However if hell does freeze over and Nicholls does win, then Willie Fritz enters the conversation of worst coach ever at Tulane. That's utter BS. If Nichols is a top 5 FCS team, they should com...

Re: Wave beats the Wave ,loses to Wake Forest in OT 23-17

As to #'1 and 2 I have to strongly disagree. Our O-line couldn't do anything all night. We started with great field position in the first half several times and went nowhere. They can't pass block and they can't open holes. Hilliard could slip through the slightest crevice . We don't have that anym...

Re: Four Greenies Released Today

Lee played versus the Bucs, and played pretty well. Ryan Griffin played a good portion of the game for the Bucs and he looked better than Lee. I think their final stats were comparable, but watching the game Griff looked better than Lee. Lee probably showed enough to sign to someone's practice squad...

Re: Wake Forest Game Thread

Early on I wouldn’t at all be surprised to see Wake Forest just try to pound it down our throats to give their freshmen QB a chance to settle in. Their offensive line is made up of three seniors and two juniors and no doubt is their biggest strength. Seems like he settled in just fine without them ...

Re: Thoughts and Prayers Requested

I shed a few tears yesterday, but it wasn't over the outcome of the Tulane game last night. Yesterday morning, Zachary and his twin brother Teddy got on the bus to start first grade. To think of how far we've come since bottoming out around Christmas 2017 made it an emotional day. I bleed Olive Gree...

Re: Wake Forest Game Day Thread

All the hype about our offense was crap. Outside of Terrence Encalade, I didn’t see anything to see improvement. We will never outmuscle a D-1 opponent. We are tulame. Our only way is to out quick them with an offense that’s wide open. And not the run for your life and throw the ball with your eyes...

Re: Wake Forest Game Day Thread

Which QB looks better? I'm not giving up on this team tonight or this week. I thought we were playing a much more talented team and we're only down 7. This is still anyone's ball game. Catch the damned ball and we might have a lead. At the same time, Banks needs to play better as well. Wake runs mor...
