Re: Do We Keep Jewett?

@jax: They are P5 programs, but do the P5's have any more flexibility in applying scholarships/aide packages for baseball players than non-P5's? I understand the math of having more available athletic income, but I thought all AAC schools agreed to match "full cost of attendance". With th...

Re: Do We Keep Jewit

Travis is a nice guy but just isn’t getting the job done. He’s in year 3 and he has a career losing record against Matt Riser at SELA and Blake Dean at UNO. He’s only beaten UNO once in his last 6 attempts. You have to beat those teams when you’re at Tulane. Just not getting it done. Our RPI is bac...

Pierce has had really good classes. The problem has been the MLB draft.

Re: ECU Wins the Series 2-1

Frustrating because I believe we have Regional talent on this club. But we can’t seem to play well consistently. Hopefully we win the rest of the AAC series’s. Need to win these midweek games to build our win total. With the next 5 at home, I'd like to see us go on a 6 game winning streak. I also t...

Re: SELA Spanks the Wave 10-3

Win what happened to 3 of our pitchers who signed last year (Oliva, Ariza and Wallace)? I'm not sure. Your guess is as good as mine. These guys all signed LOI's but they are not even on the roster, nor could I find them at any other school. Did they go pro? Injuries? [/quote] They got cut. All were...

Re: SELA Spanks the Wave 10-3

Studied the catchers tonight. I was right. The problem goes beyond our pitching staff. Nieman does not give the staff a consistent target. He has a little jump most of the time the pitchers are in their windup. Southeasterns catcher is set when their pitcher is in motion. He was moving his glove in...

Re: SELA Spanks the Wave 10-3

Sorry but I disagree about the lack of talent angle. There is talent on the staff which is what makes this all the more frustrating. We have guys that can bring it, guys with good movement on the ball. They all have had outings where they showed it and we think ok he's broken through only to see hi...

Re: SELA Spanks the Wave 10-3

Our rpi was so bad after the 1st month, the mid week games mean nothing. Have to win the conference and go deep into the conf tourney to secure a bid. I think it's time to add Pete to the "cannot see post" display. I wouldn’t say they mean nothing. We need to win them to stay where we are...

Final: Wave gains a split mercy ruling Memphis 20-5. It’s a shame we have little pitching this season. This is the best hitting Tulane team from 1 thru 9 I can remember. Re: UNO Game 2 Thread

This is a highly talented team that is being destroyed by poor pitching. Maybe it's time to invest in a good pitching coach? 10 runs on the road should win you the game, no questions asked. How about we Invest in new pitchers or a Psychiatrist. Can’t throw strikes no matter who coaches at this poin...

Re: Tulane Escapes With Win Over SELA 15-14

For those of you who are in-the-know, here's a riddle: Our pitchers have trouble throwing strikes, especially when the pressure is on. Is our pitching staff lacking? Has Coach Latham not panned out the way we hoped? Does he simply need more time? All of these? The pitching numbers across the board ...

Re: Tulane Comes Back To Win The WSU Series

The only major sport where Tulane can realistically compete to win a national championship is baseball so I do not agree when you say there is an over-emphasis on baseball. I do understand that football runs the show, which it should, but Tulane will never compete for a championship with the current...

With the transfer portal in place players will go to schools that they feel the love for the athletes. They don't need fans that blast them and sometime blame them for poor coaching. P...

UNO RPI 149, Wave RPI 103. Sad, truly sad. :shakingno: That is sad. At the same time, with schedules set a year in advance, it's hard to tell what teams are going to help our RPI and what ones will hurt. All we can do is win games. Losing 2 of 3 to Ole Miss & getting swept by Long Beach State h...

Alabama has 4 players in the transfer portal including 2 that averaged double figures. I wonder if Hunter can work some magic.
