Re: CFP 14-team next but only one auto G5 spot

As was foreseeable years ago, the P5 have now consumed themselves--eating their own young. And it won't stop at this. Next up variable revenue sharing within conferences--play for pay instead of pay for play. The individual school eyeball count will become paramount. If Tulane can keep winning, we s...

+1,000,000. “Higher education” has become a clown show. The Pay-to-Play crowd are the most real world aspect of the academic cesspool.

Re: UNT Game 2 Thread

Hunter’s incompetence is a true test of Gibson Hall’s competence. Gibson Hall is not making decisions about coaches. Don't kid yourself. GH has plenty of influence in what happens, or doesn't happen, to coaches--especially when a new AD is still using a map to get around campus. And, GH is responsi...

Yes. I think the P’s will be ok with Pay for Play the G’s not so sure. I still think that the Universities have a card to play, if they want to. Why should we be obligated to give scholarships, if we also have to buy players? What is the school's return on investment by giving a scholarship? I agre...

Re: Tennessee and Virginia win NIL lawsuits challenging current restrictions

It’s now full Helter Skelter. The NCAA is dead and buried. The only way to reel in the madness is at the conference level. If a school wants to voluntarily be in a conference then here are the rules you have to follow—otherwise adios.

Re: Four ACC expansion candidates to replace Fla. ST.

Was listening to WWL radio and Mike and Bobby both said another expansion coming in 2025. Said NC going to the SEC. The league wants them badly. While we all talk primarily about getting an invite from the ACC, I wonder if the Big 12 will stand pat. Even though the Big 12 is at a very stable 16 sch...

Re: Four ACC expansion candidates to replace Fla. ST.

Seeing rumors online that Notre Dame is going to join the Big 10 since conference championships are heavily rewarded in the CFP. I expected the realignment and playoff pressures would eventually get to ND, and it is only natural for them to go to the Big 10. So, the ACC effectively loses another. I...

For Hunter, it is impossible to tell what Harris is thinking. Guerry argued on X with me that Hunter was not all the weaknesses we say here daily. Nobody backed him but nobody backed me. We agreed to disagree, and 3 others liked my posts silently. My gut says that Gibson Hall know Hunters limitatio...

Re: ECU Game Thread

I was only able to watch about 3 minutes of today's game. But in those 3 minutes, on two occasions we brought the ball down and put up a missed 3-pointer--and in both cases there wasn't a single Tulane player inside the 3-point line. As soon as the ball goes up, they all start heading back up-court....

Re: Going to be a long spring and summer for AD Harris

I tend to agree that Harris is not walking in looking to clean house. He's also not going to look at videos of past games and attempt to make some evaluation of what the situation was when he was not here. I think we can all agree that David Harris seems like a measured, deliberate guy who is not g...

Re: Going to be a long spring and summer for AD Harris

To fully appreciate how screwed up our basketball programs are, Harris needs to also go back and look at some tapes from the past three years. In the case of MBB, he needs to understand that Hunter is not going to change anything--the longer we keep him, the longer we just tread water, or sink. Hun...

We need help fast but will we see it? I am hoping that AD Harris has been watching the men's and woman's basketball closely and understands we have serious issues. Sumrall will help open the door to another conference , I am sure of that. We don't need these two programs helping to close it. As far...

If Hunter does get another year, there certainly should be very clear performance measures that he has to meet. And for the reasons stated in my post above, I doubt he'll meet tho...
