Vince Granito

Congrats to Vince for becoming UNO's Associate AD. Another blunder by Dannen for running this good guy off. UNO crushed us in basketball. http://www.unoprivateers.com/news/2017/6/9/UNO_Granito_Hiring_.aspx Granito assisted the Privateers during the 2016-17 men's and women's basketball season, taking...

Re: Truth about stacking-Finally

This article does a good job of explaining how Vanderbilt (and other wealthy programs) do it - they give .25 of a baseball counter since that is the minimum that they have to give but then give academic and need based aid to make up the difference. It looks like poorer schools, like Tulane and TCU ...

Tulane was warned about the tuition and transfer rule changes 10 years ago. What has Tulane done about it?

I don't deny any of that stuff, chain gang. Matt did whatever was asked of him to help the team, which for much of his time was catching the bullpen. A thankless job for sure. I wasn't trying to bash the kid but I think we should all be honest about what the legislative scholarship is. Not many of ...

Re: The economics of baseball

Did I say anything about SELA winning a NC? They haven't done anything once they got there yet. I'm talking about our program trying to win a NC. Many bigger schools with resources are now trying and that hurts us immensely. So Coastal Carolina has greater resources? People go on about how good thi...

Looking forward to seeing Andy pull off the big upset this weekend. Would be great for all real Tulane baseball fans should he do so.
A former great player making it to the CWS in his first year. Boy that would be something.

Re: Truth about stacking-Finally

Did some research and found this fact: According to U.S. News & World Report, as of September 2014, 13 Division I institutions, minus Ivy League members, “claimed to meet 100 percent of demonstrated financial need for full-time, degree-seeking undergraduates in fall 2013.” Eleven of those univer...

Re: Truth about stacking-Finally

Jesus, we don't have to pretend 3 hits and 17 at-bats over 4 seasons is a real contribution. If you're making that argument you're just being argumentative He hit a home run that got us a win while playing for an injured Alemais. You can discount it but I won't. Nobody is discounting that. The fact...

What has Tulane done as others have done to overcome this not been able to stack need? Reading TPS on this thread he points out why Tulane is not on an equal playing field. Can you at least see why people blame Tulane for not doing anything to help this? That's not what was being discussed. The lie...

Re: Truth about stacking-Finally

So in conclusion. We've learned Tulane still hasn't done anything about not stacking need based aid. And 3 hits in 4 years is a real contribution. No we learned that by NCAA rule you can't stack need based aid. We also learned that people like you want to discount a player hitting a home run...

I read where some people have said that Jewett has been successful everywhere he's been. But he's not been successful here as a head coach. Some guys are just not head coaches (Curtis Johnson). Why has he been an assistant for almost 20 years in a business that knows head coaching potential? Cannizz...
