Re: QB Ty Thompson
Good interview with Ty. Both he and Mario Williams credited offensive analyst Collin D'Angelo for getting them here. He recruited them out of HS when he was at LSU. Here's a video interview with Ty and the NOLA.com article. https://twitter.com/wdsu/status/1762314873210376447 https://twitter.com/NOLA...

Re: UAB Game Thread
D- everybody knows how Tulane athletics acts and that there is a good chance Hunter is coming back. But most everybody wants him gone and that's why these forums exist so that people can vent about the situation and let their feelings be known. That also leads to discussion of possible replacements...

Re: UC-Irvine Series Thread
Perfect example, the left handed batter #1, Oyama. Stands with his back foot on the front line, and when he lifts his right leg to start his swing, his calf and foot swing out OVER the corner of the plate. Yet if he gets hit, they're not going to call him out. Next example, left handed batter #16, ...

Re: UC-Irvine Series Thread
Wanna bet that we never have this many hit by pitches in a series again the entire season? Its not what the umpires are doing, its what UCI is doing that the umpires are allowing. We all know that AAC umpires and refs in every sport are less than adequate.

Re: UC-Irvine Series Thread
Did you look at how they're standing in the batter's box? Their back foot is ON the front line, in many cases OVER the front line, which isn't allowed. That's not "crowding the plate", that's purposely looking to get hit.

Re: UC-Irvine Series Thread
Either way, if you don't throw the ball in the batter's box, you don't have to worry. If a player sets up leaning over the plate, or moves into the area between the batters boxes as the pitch is coming, it's not an awarded base. Umpires notice at the time of pitch if a batter has his arms into the ...

Re: UC-Irvine Series Thread
Leaning into a pitch entails moving toward the plate on a pitch coming inside. It's a totally unnatural act and is so obvious, it's an easy call for the ump. I didn't see all the HBP's yesterday, only catching a couple of innings between family stuff. But I haven't seen anyone "lean into"...

Re: UC-Irvine Series Thread
This is really only weekend non-conference series that can help our RPI. Need to at least win the next two games to help our cause. Considering their current RPI is 138, not sure it will help us all that much. Hopefully it gets better over the course of the season. Too bad that San Diego game got c...

Re: UC-Irvine Series Thread
Their game against San Diego last night was canceled for some reason, so they'll be fully rested. 3-0 on the season so far, a sweep of North Dakota State, for what that's worth.

Re: CFP Goes for 5+7 System
What still blows my mind is why ANY G5 conference rep would vote in favor of the 5+7, knowing it reduces the chances for their own schools? You know their goal is to eventually eliminate all G5s from the playoff. So why keep giving in so easily? STAND YOUR GROUND.

Re: Tulane Wins the Northwestern Series
Real test comes this week. Important to beat Nicholls on Tuesday, and if we can win the series this weekend that would be something. UC-Irvine started the season ranked #25, and swept North Dakota State this weekend so they'll move up. They play San Diego on Tuesday before coming here.

Kai was a mid level 3 star recruited by G5 schools.
Ty was the highest rated QB recruit EVER at one of the top Power 5 programs in the country.
Massive difference.

Re: Up next Athletes paid Employees potential Unionization
I still think that ultimately the Universities will demand to know what their return or benefit is to giving a scholarship if they are forced to pay or buy players. Accepting a scholarship will come with a waiver that limits compensation in some way. Agreed. Because there is some value to the educa...

I referred to Rivals. Try reading what you are responding to. As to 247 it gives out stars like candy. To be fair though, its still consistent, so a 4 star at 247 is better than a 3 star at 247. In fact, one could say 247 is more accurate. Its a lot easier to distinguish between two players. Both c...

Re: Michael Pratt NFL evaluation
To be fair, Michael only ran about 10 plays. Sam Hartman, on the other hand, had almost three quarters. The QB distribution had Pratt playing on a team with 3 other QB's, 4 total. The other team had 3 QB's but Penix didn't play (not sure if he opted out at the end of the week of practice or if he g...
