Re: Big XII Expansion

AAC is off to a great start this season. 10-2 in the first week vs OOC opponents. SEC was 7-7, and came very close to being 4-10. While that's certainly true, 7/10 of those AAC wins came from FCS teams along with a 3-2 record against FBS teams and a 1-1 record against P5 teams with one of them bein...

Re: Big XII Expansion

True too. ESPN/Fox may renegotiate anything and everything. Look this might not be a bad thing for AAC if Big XII blinked and did not expand. Say UH and others start making CFB playoffs and other teams win NCAA basketball. Economic/legal argument for P6 status gains ground. Obviously worst result f...

Re: Big XII Expansion

Except for up to $200 million annually of new found TV money with majority going to rump 10 schools depending upon how admission fees are organized. I expect Big XII to advance departure fees from old conferences to newly departed schools but it may be slim pickings for a few years after that for n...

Re: Big XII Expansion

What I was reading last night makes it seem the compromise is going to be UH and UConn. WVU wants UConn, not Cincy. Reading where? At this point, it seems like the conference will have extraordinary difficulty getting 8 universities to agree on 2 schools given the pros and cons of the most popular ...

Re: Wave loses opener 7-3

To be fair to Wake, they play FCS Delaware, @Indiana, @NCState, Army, Virginia, and Boston College. If future games reveal that Wake's defense is as good as it was last year or better and that Tulane's offensive performance v. Wake was more because of Wake's D than Tulane's O, Wake has a real shot ...

Re: Wave loses opener 7-3

Re: Wave loses opener 7-3 I haven't seen their schedule but I can't see Wake winning another game this year. They are terrible. They shouldn't have won Thursday. That's a bet I would take in a heartbeat, Calhoun. To be fair to Wake, they play FCS Delaware, @Indiana, @NCState, Army, Virginia, and Bo...

Re: The SEC's

One of the most interesting thing about the results of week one for the SEC is that following games have become a lot more interesting* - at least for the first half of the game: Eastern Michigan v. Missouri Jacksonville State v. LSU Tennessee v. Virginia Tech Vanderbilt v. Western Kentucky Vanderbi...

Re: The SEC's

I get it and normally enjoy this banter, it just feels wrong to make assumptions after one week especially when we still stink. Also, we are talking about 18-23 year olds where the SEC faces the most roster turnover. Not saying it isn't worth a discussion, just that I disagree until there is a larg...

Re: Tulane v. Southern Score Prediction

This is a tough one to predict, but I'll say 31 Tulane 10 Southern. Personally, I feel like Tulane needs to win by at least 21 points, and, if Tulane is better than the 2014 team that beat a ranked SLU team 35 to 20, it should be able to do just that.

Re: Southern game

Here you Dickson believers go again. Lol. We go through this every time a FCS team is on the schedule and has 1 or 2 FBS quality players. The result always comes out in our favor. Y'all need to just sit back and enjoy the SU marching band while our football team is kicking their SWAC asses. Next ye...

Re: The SEC's

Ole Miss loses tonight to make it a 7 loss start for the mighty SEC. LSU Ole Miss Auburn Miss St Mizzo KT Vandy All losers in week one. Tenn, Ark, T@m, SC all just squeak by with close wins. Yeah the SEC looks bad. It's a virtual certainty that all of the SEC teams that lost in week 1 will lose aga...

Re: Big XII Expansion

6 wins out of reach with a defense that almost pitched a shut out? Our defense alone gives us a chance of 6 wins. Not saying we will get there, but to say we don't have a chance or it's out of reach is kind of silly. It's too soon to tell whether Wake's inability to score was because of Tulane's de...

Re: Southern game

I agree with D. By shootout, I mean having to score 30+ points to win. Right now, it's unclear if we can do that. Also, in regard to Temple, it's QB threw three interceptions, so it's too soon for anyone to declare that it's defense isn't that good since it looks like it lost because of its offense.

Re: Southern game

Yep. Same feeling Aj. Southern is still a hot mess and with a disciplined TU team, I think our offense might finally find its groove, or at least for 1 game. I really hope we see a lot more outside pitches to the option man and just getting our backs on the edges. It seemed like when we worked the ...

Re: UMass

Just tied Florida at 7-7 in the second quarter. Mark Whipple's team will not be a push-over! UMass, SMU, And Tulsa are all looking quite good. Even ULL kept Boise's running game in check until the game was a complete blowout due to Boise's epic passing game. Tulane's schedule may not be as soft as ...

Re: Big XII Expansion

That doesn't support the odd comment you made when you quoted me, but I guess that's to be expected at this point. zombie during your crusade to call all those who felt it possible that Tulane could possibly win 6 games crazy you insisted certain teams such as Temple were out of our league. Re: Big XII Expansion

Now we know why Temple is out of the running. Just about to drop their opener to Army, 28-13. Army had 329 yards rushing against what should be a decent defense. Army could actually be good this year, but it's too soon to tell. So typical. You always want to paint the negative picture for Tulane. Y...

Re: Wave loses opener 7-3

It looks like ULL is getting the business from Boise State as everyone expected, but ULL is currently holding Boise to 2.5 rushing yards per carry. This could be worth keeping an eye on in the ULL v USA game in terms of preparing for the ULL and Tulane game.

Re: Wake Forest Score Prediction Thread

I see people predicting WF to score over 20+ points which is kind of mind boggling. This is the same team last year that averaged less than 17 points per game. They are also breaking in a new running back and qb. So where is all this offensive power coming from? Well, their starting QB isn't "...

Re: Big XII Expansion

Yeah the keys would be really selling geography, the academics, the recruiting, the popularity of New Orleans, the potential for growth/success, and the major Tulane supporters. At this point, neither tv market based arguments nor athletics success based arguments would hold much water to our compet...
