Re: Baseball Prediction Thread
As bad as it is. You have to give Jewitt at least one more year. As many have pointed out he's still like CJ in that he's been a career assistant and is learning on the job how to run a D1 program. And yes I know he was a JC head coach years ago but that experience is not helping at this point.

I'd only add football schools. Force them to add football if they want to join.

Re: Successful Tulane Athletic Programs 2016-2017 (so far)
Interesting. It so happens that all of those winners were programs inherited by Dannen but left alone by Dannen (with the exception on VB). So I guess Dannen should never have fired CJ or Conroy? Dannen didn't fire CJ. He was fired by Dickson to clear the slate. Dannen botched the firing of ...

Re: Columbia Series
Wave wins it on a Paul Gozzo walk off single, 8-7. 'Spoon blows the save and gets the win (don't you just love baseball stats?) We blew the lead in the 9th, but came back to win it. Big Country: 3-for-4 with a 2-run HR; 3 RBI's on the day. Kody Hoese: 3-for-3 and looking good! Ross Massey struggles...

If Dannen had a half a brain he'd move up the baseball game to noon.

Re: Columbia Series
Ok. Bad in the pitching sense. Today is their 8th game in 9 days. If don't sweep this team then it will be bad for us. Because it won't get any easier. No sweep. 6 run 9th for Columbia to get their first win. Wow. I kinda figured because I couldn't find a thread on that other cheerleader board. The...

The bad thing is that these transfers have to sit out an entire year before getting a chance to play. You really must hate it to do that.

Re: Grade Troy Dannen on his first 6 months at Tulane
Jewett has fallen off the cliff in terms of expectations. As for baseball, I am struggling to find the reasons for this as college baseball is about development and the team has 3 solid starters on the mound and 6 solid hitter/defenders. At this point it's the worst baseball record since 1962 and t...

Re: Grade Troy Dannen on his first 6 months at Tulane
Dannen gets a big fat F as his first full academic year still has two months to go. There's complete justification for firing Jewett after only one year. Dannen said last spring that Baseball was Tulane's only program that was currently positioned to compete for a National Championship. Now it has ...

All but one. That is the Fall Ball scrimmages.winwave wrote:It was but you just want to refuse to accept that fact. How many practices did you make?
I saw all the 6 inning scrimmages. I missed one 8 inning one that was scheduled in the morning.
I saw the WS as well.

Re: Baseball/ Jewett
for all those asserting the "players" wanted to scrimmage more, how many of those "players" played summer ball. As far as I know we had less than five play summer ball. Lex and Country were the two I recall off hand. And I thank them for their commitment. Now I assume the other ...

The Fall roster was even bigger. Some quit and the rest didn't make the final 35 man roster. It wasn't certainly wasn't a lack of numbers by any stretch.winwave wrote:At that dinner TJ was talking about the team in the spring. The numbers I referenced were in Fall Ball.

Re: Baseball/ Jewett
Our roster listings have been so wrong on so many things for years it's a joke. Those guys aren't D-1 caliber pitchers and thus didn't pitch. Hell everybody on the roster could be considered available. it doesn't mean it is practical or would help the team to just thrown them on the mound. My sourc...

Re: Grade Troy Dannen on his first 6 months at Tulane
If you thought it would all be turned around in 1 year you have no idea about college sports. Some of you that have complelty turned on Tulane and the new admin/coaches need a reality check. And what's also sad is some (like JerseyWave) talk only about the negative and don't even mention the great ...

Re: Grade Troy Dannen on his first 6 months at Tulane
If this losing continues the AAC is going to kick Tulane out of the league. We are probably already walking on thin ice. It's sad watching all these programs collapse before our very eyes.

Re: Baseball/ Jewett
It's obvious the team wasn't fully prepared to start the season. Lack of scrimmages has definitely hurt our prep on offense and defense to this point. Lack of seeing live pitching has also been a negative. Jewett may be a fine assistant but that doesn't always translate to a head job. He looks lost ...

Re: Baseball/ Jewett
With Dannen in charge you won't see anyone with Tulane ties hired. F that butthole. I agree. His big ego got in the way of the baseball hire. Instead he wanted to show everyone who was in charge . A few well connected Tulane baseball people got in his ear and that apparently turned him off. They ac...
