Re: We try to tell them, but they don't listen
I only count 4 that transferred: SanGiacomo, Blouin, Powell, Lee. Kemp, Griffin, Ponder, and Bullock all count as having completed their eligibility at one school. Three are still here. So, lets compare apples to apples. You can't count the players that are still here, as they're not done. We've ha...

Re: We try to tell them, but they don't listen
Also, SEC could be more volatile because they get some transfers in from other schools. Think Zack Mettenberger.

Re: Big XII Expansion
MBAWaveFan indicated that the contract can be renegotiated if the AAC loses two schools, so you better bet that if AAC loses two high profile programs, our contract will be renegotiated ASAP. Why? Is Aresco going to pee down his leg and ask for less money? Is renegotiation a requirement? In fact, i...

Re: Big XII Expansion
And what happens to BYU if the Big 12 expands by two and takes Cincinnati and Houston. Would that be an indication that the hurdles BYU provides are just too much to deal with? Would that keep them off the table again if they expand by two more in a few more years?

scroll down to number 9 if you are bored with the previous 8 http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/17243029/alabama-crimson-tide-repeat-other-2016-season-predictions Interesting thought. Would the AAC consider staying at 10, rather than watering down our product? Also, does the money we g...

Re: We try to tell them, but they don't listen
I'd also like to know WHY the ones that transferred did so. If its was due to lack of playing time, that goes back to my original statement. Just about any QB that was originally signed by a P5 school and never saw the field could likely have been a starter at any one of 15-20 G5 schools.

Re: We try to tell them, but they don't listen
How is that not bad? You can't count the 55, because the final determination on them is still out. You're talking 45 of 121 actually finished their eligibility at the same school. That means, on average almost two of every three QB's signed by an SEC school don't complete their eligibility at said s...

Right, just a general recruiting thread. If a player commits, we give him his own thread.

I agree to new threads for commits, but do we really want a new thread for every offer? We've got what, 300 offers out?

Re: We try to tell them, but they don't listen
100 of the 176 are either still in school or "finished their eligibility at that same school". Says nothing about graduating. You have to also assume the same attrition rate will continue to apply to the current 55.

Re: We try to tell them, but they don't listen
This from a writer who's been covering Alabama football/basketball for the Tuscaloosa News for over 30 years. https://twitter.com/CecilHurt/status/762285862260510724 Cecil Hurt @CecilHurt Since 2007, SEC teams have signed 176 quarterbacks. 55 still in school. Of the others, 62.8 pct. (76 of 121) t...

Re: Beaten again for a Louisiana QB (3*QB picks ULL over Tulane)
I didn't know where else to put this. I wish we had just a generic 2017 recruiting open thread. That would be a place we could discuss players that we offer, or wish we would offer, etc. Wouldn't that make more sense?

Re: Big XII Expansion
I agree with the 2 vs 4 thing. We have no chance if its two. But again, I think we have some media speculation involved in this tweet. "Texas of course wants Houston." They gave support in the media, but I'm not sure that's the chip Texas wants to play. And I'm not convinced that Cincy is...

From collegad.com BIG 12 August 7th, 2016 | by College AD Is there finally light at the end of the Big 12 expansion tunnel? Jason Williams of the Cincinnati Enquirer, citing sources , is reporting that BYU is the leagues top choice to add. While the Cougars appear to the Big 12’s first choice, Oklah...

Re: Big XII Expansion
But you also walk a fine line there. Lets suppose they agree to do that. Now you've got the Big 12 getting $10M for Tulane instead of $20M+. They're not going to give us the entire $10M, so what then, we get $5M? There becomes a point of diminishing return. You can't bring a school into the conferen...

Re: We try to tell them, but they don't listen
Lindsey Scott not taking us seriously hurts him more than it hurts us. He's much more likely to become part of that 62.8pct than he is to become LSU's starting QB. We'll still find a QB that can run Fritz's offense.

To put it another way, we've had longer periods of sustained success, and we've had higher peaks than Memphis has ever achieved. Last season was probably the best they've EVER been. EVER.

Since posters all feel Memphis has had lousy football, this century and most of their history, I pose this question: How did they beat us the last 9'times in a row, and how do,you account for the FACT that Memphis has a better all-time winning percentage an Tulane? Either Memphis is better than you'...

Re: Beaten again for a Louisiana QB (3*QB picks ULL over Tulane)
I’m thinking the offer was pulled. I don’t see signing three QBs this year and after the second QB commit coming two days ago this prompted his commitment to ULL. If someone better comes along I’m sure WF would drop one of his current commits in a second. I just don’t see this being a coincidence t...

Re: 2016 "Fall" Camp....
Saw video interview of Fritz. He is very high on our backs, and thinks the QBs can all throw the ball well, especially deep routes. He thinks we will be throwing the ball 30 times a game, closer to what he did at Sam Houston. I know it is hard to take coaches too seriously after CJ, but I am not th...
