Somewhat depressed today
Very proud of the coaches and team after yesterday’s effort but after finally climbing back to relevance in the sport with three straight bowl games and playing the No 2 team to a standstill on the road on National TV, it appears all of the mistakes for decades have come to final fruition. This real...

Re: Oklahoma Score Predictions
Biggest Upset of the day: Tulane 28 Oklahoma 24 One day, y’all are going to believe that I am not crazy! I truly believed that this team had what it took to catch Oklahoma sleeping today. This score could have very well happened today. What a tough loss. Love you Eagle but I don't believe you. Did ...

Re: Oklahoma Score Predictions
This game will be ugly for one reason. The Oklahoma speed on offense will outflank Tulane’s outside containment easily.. can’t stop them with 4.8 forty DEs. That will lead to many jet sweeps setting up play action to very speedy receivers. Heck Oklahoma’s QB is faster than anybody on Tulane’s defens...

Re: Next Wave of Re-Alignment
Does Army fit into the picture? I I hope TU lands in a conference worth being in and not a hybrid of cast offs. Thank all of you for your insightful posts. Makes my day to read this board. Unfortunately, most college football media and followers consider Tulane a cast off. A couple of weeks ago peo...

Wow, that’s going to cost a pretty penny, moving the whole office to Birmingham. That will take a big truck! I might just take the personnel and computers.

Re: How changes affect Dannen
The whole reason why college athletics has such disparity between the P5 and the rest is that every Commissioner, President and AD at the lower rung conferences schools just laid down and let the P5 schools run roughshod over them in the hopes of getting a P5 job one day. Dannen is no different today.

Re: Coronavirus (COVID-19) Discussion
A question for the local guys. I am 70 years old, vaccinated with type 2 diabetes and heart stents. I have been able to avoid (as far as I know) COVID to this point. I have my 50 year HS reunion mid September in NO. I would be staying in a local hotel and flying over. We will be having functions ind...

Re: Next Wave of Re-Alignment
My prediction is FSU, Clemson, UNC and Duke to SEC. the latter two for the basketball dollars. You might even see Ohio State and Michigan considering joining, although I think those two schools' boards might value the academic partnerships of the Big 10too highly to join the SEC. One last comment, e...

Re: Texas and OU to SEC ?
I think it's funny that Tulane fans make fun of the leftover Big XII schools. It's like the crew of the Titanic making fun of smaller ocean liners. When this whole realignment is over the odds are that Tulane athletics as we know them today will effectively have gone the way of the Titanic and those...

I imagine Newman and the Catholic schools might be willing to form an academic conference and allow us in, but only if we committed to improve our facilities.

Sounds like it won’t matter who the QB is if the OL and WR issues aren’t solved. Heck all three might transfer if they are subject all year to getting killed like Pratt was in the bowl game

Re: Line Moves to Oklahoma 26.5 pts. > Tulane
Based on reports of the offense getting dominated by our defense and the expected improvement of the Oklahoma defense, I'm not sure 28 will hold up by halftime. Not going to be pretty agAinst Oklahoma or Ole Miss two weeks later. Real nervous that if that happens season goes south fast.

It's time for Fitts to beg , on his knees , to be included in the AAU heavy B1g, PAC and ACC Alliance . Play our AAU card . That’s an interesting idea. Those AAUers might want an outpost in the Deep South. Sandy Barbour , at Penn State , could be a huge help , a huge asset , if the B1G is looking t...

A highlight with RD I’ll always remember occurred at the 2005 Super Regional at Turchin Game 1 vs Rice. Rick came and stood with us Railbirds down the 1st base line just past the Rice dugout. He happened to be the first person on the rail. One of the Rice hitters crushed a liner foul right at us. W...

Re: Texas and OU to SEC ?
If the PAC-12, Big 10 and ACC form an alliance the SEC will need more teams to be able to match the voting numbers on major issues. Crazy greed in institutions of higher learning most of which are funded with state money.

I’m worried that high hopes will lead to a lot of anxiety when team is blown out by Oklahoma and Ole Miss in 2 of first three games leading to a 4-5 win season.

Re: Next Wave of Re-Alignment
I give any Tulane President and AD full benefit of the doubt. They are dealing with a bad hand inherited from a long line of poor decisions by previous administrations. If they pull off Tulane getting into a conference that is regarded as anything but a minor league for the top 50-60 schools it will...

New DC and loss of pass rushers, take OU-24.5. They may cover that by half.

Re: Texas and OU to SEC ?
Unfortunately, the only sliver of hope for Tulane going forward is if the AAC can add some of the top teams from the Big 12. If It goes the other way where the Big 12 stays together and takes too teams from the AAC, we are doomed to a Conf USA/Sunbelt existence, a step back that will just about kill...

Re: Upcoming 2021 Football Season
I am concerned going into the season that losing two blowouts to Oklahoma and Ole Miss (they averaged 39 puts a game last year. We lost two pass rushers) might dishearten the team and the fan base both of whom have high hopes. Better get the next two against UAB and ECU because the next 4 after that...

What a great speech by his sister! If that doesn’t bring a tear in the eye and bring back memories for any little leaguer at our advanced ages, I don’t know what will.
