Re: Wave falls to SELA 8-5 in baseball tonight

I see we have some Moneyball guys on here. Here's a Bill James stat for you. Runs Created. There a few different formulas for it as it's been refined over the years. The stat does what it sounds like it does, it measures how many runs a guy created over the course of the season. The guy who created...

Re: Wave falls to SELA 8-5 in baseball tonight

we would've had to score 9 runs last night to win. If we have to score 9 runs to win, we wont win 10 games this year. Have to figure out the bullpen fast.

Re: Wave falls to SELA 8-5 in baseball tonight

hypothetical: if you had 3 hits an inning and all are singles and you did that for every inning for 9 innings straight. Assuming the runners move from station to station. Thats a total of 27 hits a game which is unheard of by the way.....we would have 0 runs at the end of the game or close to it dep...

Re: Wave falls to SELA 8-5 in baseball tonight

STRIKEOUTS DO NOT MATTER. Its all about RBIs...is it not? Someone please tell me on this board its not about RBIs. Well this exact team last year with all of these strikeouts were 1st or 2nd in the conference in RBIs. Again Strikouts do not matter, its about bombs, doubles, and rbis. Our bullepen h...

Re: Army/Air Force Series

We will be fine. I still think we will be conference champs. Yes we didn't hit very good.....but dont forget our pitching was just as bad. Last year these same 3 guys led the country in 13 shutouts and had the lowest era in the conference. Massey led the entire conference with 10 wins, he wasn't him...

Re: Army/Air Force Series

To say we strike out a lot is akin to saying we miss a lot of shots in basketball. It's who we are. That doesn't excuse it. To improve we need to cut down on the K's. At least put the ball in play and make the other team make a play. I know this bugs Jewett and he'll work on that problem. We're not...

Re: Army/Air Force Series

We averaged 9ks a game last year. I'm not worried.....we strikeout a lot but lead the country in HRs (top 25). This team was built for the long ball. Mark my words if jewett starts replacing these high K high hr guys with someone who can draw a walk we will lose 30+ games. That's not how this team w...

here's my guess for a starting lineup. Kaplan RF Witherspoon CF Hope 3B Williams 1B Willsey 2b Montalbano DH Brown/Dehart LF Hoese/Grozzo SS Grozzo C let the opinions roll in..... I spent no time on L/R batting positions. I welcome any insight into SS, C, and DH. I'll give it a shot, i have no insi...

*Tulane's position players are stacked. *After this year we lose everyone *23 recruits Jewetts staff has brought in aren't ranked like the talent Gaut's #5 Perfect Game 2013 class was *Position players are top 10 in country and could play with anyone with several snrs been starting since freshmen. *...

Re: Fall Baseball

To answer the question you refused to answer (despite citing our 7-1 record vs. top 25 RPI) our final RPI was 32. Our final ranking was 19. Yet you predict we would sweep the defending runner-up and perennial top 10 Arizona, likewise with perennial top 5 with recent national championships, Vanderbi...

Re: Fall Baseball Roster

I respectfully disagree. We might not have swept vandy but we would've easily beat them in a series. We had 2 common opponents, Ole Miss and LSU, in which we were 3-0 against. Vandy was just 1-3 against those guys. We swept LSU, beat Ole Miss, Beat the Pac 12 champs, and beat the team that got 2nd ...

Re: Fall Baseball Roster

Can't wait!! Thanks for sharing. I just hope these coaches aren't coming in here acting like its a rebuild because it isn't. If they do that, they could lose these seniors. They just inherited a gold mine of players. These seniors were 8-0 against the top 25 and 3-0 against the media darlings sec l...

Re: Fall Baseball

No I don't trust you. Your way over the top w/all of your post. See your comments about Willsey as the most recent example. Then you changed your parameters to fit what you originally asserted. These guys were all good college players and I am glad they got a call up but you don't provide stats b/c...

Re: Fall Baseball Roster

Glad to see Oakley back - has talent, but the prior staff didn't seem interested. The freshman infielder who spelled alemais when he was injured- is he back? He is not on the roster it looks like. Cade Ewards, he was good back up for us when we needed it, sad to see him go. I firmly believe that SS...

Re: Baseball commit

Huge pickup for 2018 !! According to pbr we currently have 2 of the top 10 players in Louisianna committed for 2018.....and counting. Don't know how good PBR is though at ranking. Jewett is going to have to get on his horse because we lose a bunch of players after this year and the last staff left u...

Re: Fall Baseball Roster

Evan Rutter the grad transfer was with us last year but hurt his arm I think in spring ball before season.

I think I saw on Twitter that D1baseball had a write up about us yesterday but can't read it.
