ULM, though I haven't run the numbers.
It would take an ULaLa fan to come up with that answer.

Re: UCSB Series

I have a simple suggestion based on conversations with people involved in the program. The first thing we need to do more of is to hit live pitching. Any player will tell you it's night and day hitting off a machine vs live pitching. We're spending way too much time on things that are not going to ...

Oh well another game another loss and boat load of K's. This game though should have been won. Oh well, on to USM.

Re: UCSB Series

I think the love fest for Dannen is ending. This guy is a real jerk, at least Dickson went to games and would have made sure the team had proper recognition for their championship.

Re: UCSB Series

Dannen screwed this hire up. The players are miserable under Jewett. This is just so frustrating as Dannen clearly passed on the obvious hire b/c of his ego. I like many of you was extremely impressed with Dannen at first. Now it's become apparent he's just a bunch of hot air. All glitz and glammer...

Re: UCSB Series

Wow, if all of that is true it's no wonder the results on the field are what they are. You have to play loose and enjoy it to do your best. 2 hours on etiquitte? I thought this was baseball not Mrs. Potter's finishing school. The ticket folks have called me 3 times now asking why I didn't renew for ...

Watched Baylor-South Alabama on line tonight. Bears closer struck out final 2 batters with tying run at second. 3-2 BU!

I'll check back in a month and see these same arguements. One thing that is not debatable, the outfield defense is very poor and we lack speed at most positions.

Re: Wave falls to SELA 8-5 in baseball tonight

Strikeouts aren't overblown, especially when men are on base. A groundout or flyout that advances the runner is 1000X better than a strikeout. We have too many feast or famine hitters. Every time you put the ball in play something good can happen. Failing to make contact or watch third strikes do no...

Re: Army/Air Force Series

Very disappointing start to the season. Imagine this, we struckout 30 times in 3 games. That's like giving away an entire game (27 outs) of strikeouts. That's plain horrible. If we were playing against top notch pitching that would be one thing, but the guy starting today didn't pitch last year &qu...

Re: Army/Air Force Series

Nice win ,4-3, in the first game. Corey wasn't at his best but we got him some run support. Isaa looked ok in his inning. Andrews looked like the real deal. He has an electric fastball and a hechuva of a breaking ball. If his arm holds up he's going to be fun to watch. Sal Gozzo looked solid at SS ...

Re: Kansas coach Tony Hull - former NOLA Coach

Saw in the local St. Charles Parish paper this morning that All-State Hahnville RB/Athlete Pooka Williams committed to Kansas this week. If you haven't seen this kid play you are missing out. I don't expect this commit to stick though, he's getting all kinds of attention from the SEC schools and eve...

Re: Army/Air Force Series

Wonder what LSU is doing for the Air Force-Army game at noon Friday at the Box? Hopefully it's a fairly quick game since Army will have to bus to NOLA right after.......unless they are coming in Blackhawks which would be pretty cool.

Re: Grade Troy Dannen on his first 6 months at Tulane

I gave him a C because it was a wait and see thing and I'll leave it at a C for now. Fritz recruiting class was pretty unimpressive but let's see what he can do in year 2. Dunleavy inherited a Yugo and has turned it into a pedal car. Stockton's team isn't doing well but Volleyball made huge strides ...

Re: Tulane, Baylor & The Big XII

The AAC wouldn't be close to a P5 with Baylor and without Tulane. Its viewership, top 25 rankings in the sports that matter, NCAA bids, attendance, recruiting, etc. combined aren't remotely close. Ok I'm not a Tuh-lane grad but this statement has me confused? Are you saying Baylor doesn't have bett...

They aren't kicking anyone out; the whole conference may fall apart soon though with Texas thinking they are above everyone else and OU getting sick of it.

Re: Baseball Practice begins

On edit: In my practice report I originally posted that Gozzo had that throw out at third. It was Montalbano. I need to add that there was a lot of sand kicking up on balls hit in the infield. Someone I think would be in the knew said they are going to pull up the infield turf and correct that. Not...

Watched 6 innings. Merrill and Massey were good, bats need plenty of work. Hope looked lost at the plate. Field looks ok, not a fan of the stripes and turf mounds but I love the slugger bird logo.

Re: Bad News Bears

If Penn State didn't get the death penalty nobody's getting the death penalty. Agreed! There is no way Penn State shouldn't have gotten it. Hell, Joe Paterno (who I was told stop coaching and running the program a very long time before his death anyway), shouldn't have been given his wins back afte...
