Re: CUSA

Look at the new teams coming in or in CUSA. CUSA is now the Sunbelt 2. And by the same logic the AAC is now CUSA 2. AAC is very similar to the original CUSA. The AAC is the original CUSA. Lol Minus Louisville plus UConn. I think that's a push. Louisville has deeper tradition, but UConn has an un-ma...

Re: Thoughts on the ULL program

(1) USL is stuck in the Belch (Sunbelt ) conference for the foreseeable future playing now Southland teams generating a lowly $40,000 per year from their long term tv contract. Lousiana Tech will never allow them in CUSA which is basically the Sunbelt 2. Tulane definitely will not allow them in the...

Re: Thoughts on the ULL program

I don't see UL remaining in the SB for long but even so, is there really a huge difference between the SB, CUSA, MAC, Mountain West and AAC? They are all pretty much in the same boat. Boise St did pretty well for itself when they were playing in the WAC. It's not as big a differences as, say, any n...

Re: Merry Christmas

Anyone and everyone should want a degree from Tulane, not because it is a better school than somewhere else, but because the experience we shared going there was extraordinary. Fans and alums alike can share in that joy. Merry Christmas. I'm thankful for Tulane, all of you, New Orleans, Idaho, frie...

Re: 2013 R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl Tickets

No matter which of the above figures are correct, it still matches with the general laws of demand for college football, accounting for the disastrously low levels of interest that are the result of Scott Cowen's ineptitude. When examining where we are with attendance/demand, you have to keep in mi...

Re: 2014 Recruiting: Perception vs Reality

I would always hammer away at the best local guys like Dupre, Fournete, and Noil. CJ is certainly capable of landing one like he did with Darion Monroe two years ago. The problem that I see is if you are an elite offensive talent, like the aforementioned, would you want to play in this Tulane offen...

Re: Thoughts on the ULL program

There have been a number of comments made about the ULL program over the past two weeks for a variety of reasons. I had mentioned that we should not schedule them, and that's out of respect. ULL has a real "glass ceiling" that Tulane does not, as has been called out numerous times. They would kill ...

Re: USL Fan Forum Site

Exflash, LALA's abysmal academic reputation will keep it out of a BCS conference forever. In New Orleans LALA is thought of as the university people go to who can't make a 21 on the ACT. USN&WR doesn't even give LALA a numerical rank, LSU at least received a 135. Regardless for how successful you m...

No, Jonathan. We beat one of the worst teams in FBS, UTEP the second to last week of the regular season.

But it sure seemed that way!

Re: QB Battle

Bad as our QB play was this year, we lost games by 2, 3, and 4 points. We also lost by a bigger margin to FAU in a game QB play lost for us. If we had Ryan Griffin on this team, we would have gone 10-2 and hosted Marshall in the title game. We would probably be playing Miss State in the Liberty Bow...

Re: Tulane 21 - ULL 24

That was clearly a pass interference! I'm going to upload that play in slow motion. It really wasn't. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9m0spflKkMQ Making a play on the ball doesn't give you free reign to take out the reciever. His mistimed jump resulted in our receiver having no play on the ball what...

Re: Tulane 21 - ULL 24

I thought the turning point was the no-call on the deep INT. Their player mistimed his jump and when he came down he took our reciever down with him, leaving the other UL-L player to make an easy pick. If the referee flags the guy that took out our receiver, we have the ball deep in UL-L territory, ...

Yeah, but for certain posters that view Yulman as the POSS, being in favor of the IPF and looking forward to games outdoors on campus shouldn't be possible. It blows their minds. Pwfew!! What else can he do but spout the company line? The POSS is reality- he can't say "Yulman is too small and I would rather coach and play in the Dome. I HATE hot weather!." Not soon enough, IMHO. The goal was set to name the successor by year end, now it's to name the finalists in early January. The sooner his successor is named, the faster Cowen's power disappears. We'll also know if he's pro-athletics.

MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE New Orleans Bowl

The selection of our next President will go a long, long way to determining the life or death of Tulane Athletics in "D1". I just went back and re-read some of what we have been told about the search. If you're keeping score, they've fallen behind in a big way. In the early part of 2013 here is what...

Re: It's Official over 50,000 tickets sold to date for NO Bo

I'm curious as to which Big 12 team or ACC team would bring 30k fans to a road game mid season at Tulane? Because clearly there's at least 30k tickets sold to UL-L fans, probably closer to 40k.
