Re: Tulane Can Break - Up "The Biggest Recruiting Advantage In College FB"

Pete, here's a quote from Fritz, yesterday. Take note of the emphasized section: "I'd like for the number of people we sign to be a bit higher in the future. Obviously, when you are recruiting, you are trying to build relationships, and trying to build a relationship in that short period of tim...

Re: Tulane Can Break - Up "The Biggest Recruiting Advantage In College FB"

Pete, not really sure what you're referring to with this "history of two and done" stuff. The ONLY place they were ever two and done was GSU, and if I had the chance to leave Statesboro for New Orleans I'd be gone in a heartbeat as well.

Listened to the interview that Graff had with WR coach Jeff Conway. Two quotes in particular stuck out: "criteria we were looking for this year was 'PLAYMAKER', rather than specific roles like vertical threat or underneath" "I think all these kids were attracted to the fact that we th...

Re: NSD Thread

I picked up this from the Sportsnola article: Fritz: “ I want the best athletes on the offensive side and I want to be able to run and pass . If you pass too much or you run too much, someone eventually will stop you." Wasn't the original plan from CJ to put all the best athletes on the defensi...

Re: Tulane Can Break - Up "The Biggest Recruiting Advantage In College FB"

Speaking of which, this is a very interesting Tweet. It pretty clearly implies that Rutgers joining the Big 10 opened up NJ recruiting for Big 10 schools. https://twitter.com/ramzy/status/694950315020410880 I also saw something earlier that said the SEC got almost half of the Top 50 kids in Texas? ...

Looks like LSU may lose that #1 recruiting class title after all. They had one guy flip to Clemson today, and Erick Fowler chose Texas over LSU.

Re: Ty Pigrome thread

Fritz will get the Scott and Pigrome level qbs next season. I think so as well. Just the fact we were among their final choices is a change from the past. Add winning and some plans for new facilities to the mix. Also, the more I look at highlights, I like this kid Johnathan Brantley out of Houston...

Re: Ty Pigrome thread

Not to put a damper on anyone's #Fritzmas eve, but I had this nagging thought. What if Pigrome doesn't make his decision tomorrow? Imagine the anticipation if it carries on a few more days or weeks. Has he actually said he's going to sign tomorrow? Just wondering.

Re: Da'Monte Coxie WR

Interesting semantics here. If the school doesn't send the NLI, can the player really say he "decommited"? Why wouldn't that be a case of the school pulling the offer?

Re: Lawrence Edwards headed to GSU

We've added some, but I don't think PE is one of them. Also, friendly doesn't mean its basket weaving. The players needs to be able to read and write at an adult level, and I'm willing to bet there will be some NLI's faxed tomorrow across the country from kids that aren't capable of college studies....

Re: Lawrence Edwards headed to GSU

There's a difference between academic standards and academic issues. It doesn't do any good to bring a kid in if he obviously can't handle the workload. It seems a good number of the kids CWF has been pursuing are pretty good students as well, so we'll see. I think you have to give Fritz a pass on e...

Re: Doug Coleman switches to Texas Tech

I didn't think it was dumping, I was just making a point. I really think this system should be modified. Set a specific period for OV's, dead period, etc, that ends with NSD, but players are allowed to sign a NLI at any time during their senior. Do away with verbal commits, and you get rid of all th...

Re: Doug Coleman switches to Texas Tech

Attacking a kid for choosing a different school is a real bad look. If he is man enough to back out on his commitment, then he should be man enough to take some heat for it. Garbage. He got another offer that he preferred.....and he's an 18 year old kid. I have my doubts that he's concerned about a...

Regardless of what he thinks about anonymous internet posters, did he have the decency to call Fritz before he officially decommited? Its a bad look on him to commit to someone and then have him find out from Twitter that you've changed your mind.

galvez, I think its a plus that we're actually in the conversation with the SEC and ACC for players, especially QBs. And I also appreciate what you're saying. You want a player that has confidence in their own abilities. However, you also want one that understands their own abilities and is smart en...
