Re: Football Recruiting 2017

A lot of these decommits are a result of Tulane/Fritz moving on, not the player. There are some the other way, too. But I certainly wasn't overwhelmed by the class as it stood last August or so, so I won't freak now. I'll wait to see how things turn out. I don't buy that. We're losing 3 star kids a...

Re: Rick Jones to be inducted into La Hall of Fame

Ed weighs in. "Crickets" from Tulane on Jones Hall of Fame induction. http://clarionherald.info/clarion/index.php/sports/ed-daniels-articles/6212-where-are-the-bells-and-whistles-for-jones-at-tulane Tulane athletics has started the new year with a missed opportunity. And, it was a big mis...

Disappointed to see all these decommits. An early signing date would definitely lower that number.

Re: Wave beats USF 82-67 for first conference win

This is a really, really nice stat. Keep this up and we'll win more games. https://twitter.com/Guersmith/status/819368777624285184 Huge improvement here. Our 2 PG's dished out 7 tonight. Coming in Slater had 12 assist in 14 games and Embo had 31 in 15 games. Still need lots of improvement from thes...

The best team won. USF is terrible. Let's see how we do against SMU. Third straight road win over USF no big deal.

Re: Wave crushed by Cincy 92-56

From the NC game to the Cincinnati game we've made no improvement. Truth! Moreover, I don't believe we're playing with near the confidence that we displayed in the NC game. Against NC, our players were talking a little trash and communicating the message with their play that "you may beat us, ...

Re: Wave crushed by Cincy 92-56

I think anyone with any kind of sense new this was going to be one of the worse seasons since basketball was reinstated....zero front line players with any height, questionable consistent outside shooting..and "whoa nellie" it is going to be a long, rough season.... next year may be sligh...

Re: Wave crushed by Cincy 92-56

We're have to agree to disagree. Dannen explicitly said we have everything in place to win now after he took the job. So I'm not buying that. It's too easy of an excuse for losing. He's cleaned house of everyone in the past administration. All these hires are his people. He has to deliver on his pro...

Re: Wave crushed by Cincy 92-56

I'm talking about in the past on Floyd and White pre-UTEP and Florida. My point being you're not going to get anyone with a half of brain to donate $50 million for a Tulane basketball arena when you can't draw flies to Devlin. We have the downtown arena if need be to play in and recruit to. Tulane n...

Re: Wave crushed by Cincy 92-56

About 700-800 regulars probably attend the games. Dannen has to create a ticket demand before "Devlin is Demoed". I believe he thought by hiring Dunleavy he'd at least get some buzz needed to increase attendance but losing has killed any chance of that. Tulane is basically broke. And I don...

Re: Wave crushed by Cincy 92-56

The team finished last season on a great run that almost led to a automatic NCAA bid. We started the year playing very well against NC and others. We then get blown out by UNO and lose at home to teams we should have beaten. We've not improved in fact we've regressed. I still think Dunleavy is learn...

Re: Football Recruiting 2017

The top half of the AAC is far superior to any of the teams in the old CUSA. REALLY? Who in the AAC is "far superior" than Louisville, TCU, USF and UCF circa 2005? I'm not sure any current team would be favored over any of those teams. The AAC is a good conference, but this year's version...

Re: Football Recruiting 2017

Tulane's 2017 recruiting class isn't that great, and, unless tulane manages to keep all of its current commits and causes some recruits committed to other programs to flip, it will be the worst Tulane class in a while and that would be saying something. I agree. This won't hold water in the AAC. No...

Re: Wave loses to UCF 85-72

I saw a few good things last night. I only wish MD had pressed the entire game. UCF is an below average team without Fall in there. I think the lack of offensive consistency has been our main problem. One night Reynolds is hot the next night he's cold. One night Harris is hot the next night he's col...

Re: Another humiliating loss, to Texas St., 69-66

Texas State played to their strengths and are a pretty good team really. The two TV announcers gave many props to Tulane during the game and like some of the NBA things they saw on court from Coach MD. They also expressed how well Smith played (he really did some nice mature moves in this game more...

Wasted money. Tulane should be paying us to take tickets and give us free concessions and bill it to Dunleavy. Your opinion. But I gladly pay and will still go to games.
