Re: Hoopacalypse
BTW, if we lose to Texas State tomorrow, I am prepared to trade my season tickets for the remainder of the basketball season for a six pack of Pabst. Will include my gameday reserved parking spot on the seventh level of the Loyola garage at no extra charge. Send me the link to the ebay or craigslis...

Re: Tulane VB. Nations most improved team
Tulane VB almost sweeps the All-LA awards. Player, Newcomer and Coach of the year. Congrats! Troy Dannen made a huge hire here. His other highers will pan out after they move in some of their players. I think Barnes would take that as an insult. He did in Yr 1 (with other peoples recruits, with lit...

They beat us by 18 in 2013: http://tulanegreenwave.com/news/2016/12/22/mens-basketball-caps-non-conference-slate-against-texas-state.aspx The game is Friday at 1:00. It will be on ESPN3. Former Tulane commit, Maxwell Starwood, plays for them but hasn't done much. They were picked 12th in the 12 tea...

Re: Hoopocalypse
We are not good. I'll say it again, we are not good. In fact, we are bad, very bad!!!! However, we have a coach that has very good experience, and it applies to us because it applies to all basketball players. MD knows fundamentals. MD will open doors to AAU kids and just as important, foreign kids...

Re: Imagining an expanded American Conference
They have never understood that the athletic dept is a reflection of the school. I visited several college information sessions/tours with my daughter last summer. The best one (for me at least) was TCU. Unlike all the others that threw up a powerpoint presentation and talked about graduation rates...

Re: Hoopocalypse
This coach is barely a 3rd of the way into his first season. If another coach made every correct in game decision, the team might be 3 wins better. There's probably some in game coaching rust he has to dust off after years away from the sidelines. Add to the fact he's dealing with an undersized and...

Re: Imagining an expanded American Conference
Sorry to say but the best way to upgrade the strength of the AAC (in terms of football/basketball) is to contract rather than expand. Simply kicking out Tulane would probably do more than expanding with any of the teams mentioned. I guess the Catholic schools in the Big East were right after all. Su...

Re: Hoopacalypse
Disappointed is an understatement. We've regressed as the season has progressed. I could go on and on but I agree with just about all of the previous comments in both this thread and the McNeese thread. We should beat Texas S this Friday but as far as the AAC goes we may not win more than a game or...

Re: Hoopacalypse
So Frazier blamed the players saying that they weren't doing what the coaches were telling them. I wonder if maybe, the problem is less that Dunleavy is a Bob Toledo type burnout, and more that, as a pro cosch with no college experience, that he's talking above their heads? I guess, kind of like a ...

Re: McNeese St. humiliates Tulane 70-63
Tulane now 1-2 vs the Southland. The AAC commissioner must love what we do to the conference RPI. Just checked RPI now at #319 But remember, McNeese's power ranking (RPI) was higher than ours going into the game so this is a game we should have expected to lose. That's the logic that was suggested ...

Re: McNeese St. Game Thread
Coach needs to use timeouts during the other team runs. that is coaching 101 which Dunleavy must have forgotten about during his time away from the game. either that or he hasn't figured out the college game allows for timeouts also. After being up 9 in the first half, McNeese went on a 22-6 run. t...

not sure what is worse. Tulane offense against the zone, our rebounding effort , or Dunleavy's new baseball cap look.

Re: St. John's Game Thread
Please dont confuse their position within their conference to the strength of the team. All of those conferences are much better than the AAC when it comes to basketball. So being 8th in the Big East is like being 3rd in the AAC. Sagarin Power Ratings (Tulane #267) UNC #2 SeLa #257 Oklahoma #49 Ari...

Re: St. John's Game Thread
The thing with a big schedule is that it should happen in year two or three. What happens if the kids throw in the towel at 1-7 and this gets ugly? I agree. Please do not confuse the conference affiliation of the teams we've played with the strength of that team. Contrary to what many are saying ou...

http://www.kenpom.com Kenpom ranking more accurate at this point. RPI is too early to calculate accurately. Middle Tennessee State is #11? They're #93 in kenpom.
