Re: Keeping CJ

I must be a masochist because I went to this board and clicked on this thread. There is no reason to keep CJ besides letting him preside over the loss in five days time. This was a waste of another 5 years.

Re: Potential AD candidates search

I generally tend to agree with the paranoia/hysteria/attitude that we don't want an internal hire because Rick Dickson is so bad that he would only hire yes men(or woman). However, we're all kind of discrediting this Barbara Burke person. She obviously has experience as an athletic director at a sma...

Re: CJ on the "Hot Seat" for 2015

Is Johnson un-firable because Benson picked him out and is still calling the shots for some reason? Also when you donate money, you get a tax break because it is charity. You don't get to buy the right to Tulane's decision making.

I like how the one thing that Tulane Athletics never fails at, is disappointing it's alumni. If not embarrassing us at no extra charge.

Re: Army Gameday Thread=Finally a Win 34-31

Thoughts: 1. This might be the ugliest win I can remember Tulane having. Is it possible to look worse than we did in the first half and still have a 28-21 lead at halftime? 2. CJ still is CLUELESS when it comes to something most football fans and coaches know as GAME MANAGEMENT. I won't even go int...

Don't worry, CJ will also cut practice short next year to get it over with as quick as possible.

Lol, Army is going to put up 400 yards of offense while we get to -12 if we just extrapolate the early results.

Further investigation indicates I don't get the channel. I guess I'll see if Illinois can beat Ohio State. Illinois has better odds of winning than Tulane anyway.

Re: Is watching this team better or worse than watching the Bob Toledo 2011 team?

Worse because I know we have potential and are squandering our last chance at escaping the G5. Toledo had sh*t and made sh*t. CJ has coal... and made sh*t. Right. Those teams had no talent and played bad football. This is more disappointing because there is some real talent being epically wasted. W...

Re: Is watching this team better or worse than watching the Bob Toledo 2011 team?

I think it is always hard to judge past vs present. However, 14-32 is starting to look a lot like 15-40. I'm not saying we'll go 1-9 in our next ten games but this season might end with us 2-10.

Pop Quiz

Football coach records
a) 14-32
b) 15-40
c) 37-57

Which one is CJ? Which one is Toledo? Which one is Scelfco?

Re: Is watching this team better or worse than watching the Bob Toledo 2011 team?

I think this team is worse. You can look through rose colored glass and try and find talent in the players and moral victories in score differentials. We don't have a professional level coaching staff. We need a coaching staff that can take kids out of highschool and develop them into grown men. The...

I think that right now is worse, but maybe my pain just fades with time! :frowncry: Thoughts? I don't remember in 2011 the complaining by the coaches and the players about how it just isn't fair with our opponents/the leagues talent level.

If you are calling for a new offensive coordinator, you are thinking just like Tulane Athletics, small time. Fire the head coach. The end.

I hope we hire a staff that runs a pro scheme. Tanner Lee needs coaching. Our O-line desperately needs coaching. If Tanner doesn't respond, I like this young man from Mississippi, Jack Abraham. He has life in his eyes, quick decisions in his head, quick release & accuracy in his arm. I hope we ...

Tulane 14
Memphis 51

Tulane falls behind 51-7, which of course includes a safety, but gets another touchdown in the last five minutes when Memphis is putting in guys who aren't on the two deep.

Re: Looks like Miami cares about winning

You're overstating the case for how bad things are relative to our peers. We routinely get kids that Memphis and Houston offer. But again, you're not really addressing my point, which is that all of their coaches would have taken our job. We never asked. I don't think Herman would have, that's for ...

I'm tired of this loser mentality guys. "We can't get a good coach because he'll just leave." I think that is the same reason that small children don't make their beds. Why don't we get a good coach and then see if our nationally ranked, wealthy university ponies up the money to keep him. ...

Re: My Case for Firing CJ Saturday

I went to the Navy game this weekend. While we may have looked semi-competitive in the first half when the clock was running. I was frankly embarrassed to be there with the way the team acts and showboats between plays. I guess I'm used to watching college teams that look focused on the sidelines. F...

Re: My Case for Firing CJ Saturday

I guess i don't get why we rag on other programs - UTSA, ULL. etc. We suck. Other than current conference affiliation, I would trade place with both in a NY second. OK, let's get back to THE WAVE. Tommy Bowden, unlike for ULALA or UTSA, correctly said Tulane can be "anything it wants want to b...
