Re: Texas and OU to SEC ?
I see all the posts about Fitts and Dannen but IMHO, the Tulane athletics ship has sailed long before they arrived. I don’t believe there’s a thing they can do that will result in us surviving this next round of changes in anything but an irrelevant position. That doesn’t mean they shouldn’t try but...

Koufax started real slow and was very wild early in his career with very mediocre...

Coach Willie Fritz
A childhood friend of mine is a coach at a high school in the greater NO area. He loves Coach Fritz and when he talked to him about a week ago, he mentioned that I was a graduate and diehard Tulane fan for over 50 years. Well today I received a package with a white Tulane golf shirt and two tee shir...

Re: SCOTUS puts kill shot to NCAA's defense of amateurism
Does anyone for one moment think this is good for Tulane, a school which has never financially committed wholeheartedly to athletics?

Re: Ron Hunter gets extension thru 2026
Dannen has no intention of remaining at Tulane for most of the terms of these extensions so why sweat over doing coaching searches.

Re: FB Transfer Portal
We can all guess why a 4 star transfer from Alabama is not given a spot on Tulane football team and if that’s the case this is another example of Tulane administration not allowing coaches to play on even field with most of NCAA.

The low hit on Rodgers was a result of the Saint DE being blocked. Should have been called by refs as late but wasn’t a conscious decision to go high and low.

Re: ESPN AAC Basketball rankings for best Sales Pitch
Someone convince me that any individual worth their salt will take the AD job at Tulane where is is nearly impossible to win and raise money. Nothing but apathy except for a few thousand diehards. For God’s sake, the gym was built in 1931, does that tell you all you need to know about institutional ...

Re: AAC Athletic Director/Department Rankings
Every time I read the angst over a particular coach or AD at Tulane, I have to chuckle. This is an institutional problem that only the institution can change. This has been the case since the mid 50s. Why would anybody expect any changes to occur that will make a difference. Relax and just be glad T...

Re: 2001 Baseball Throwback
Wasn’t as much Cowen as it was the scholarship and transfer rules being changed by the NCAA. They had too many of the G5 private schools competing for National Championships so they changed the rules to screw them.

Re: Do We Keep Jewett?
No reason to be concerned about the baseball program. If the athletic director doesn’t give a fuck, why should we? Wizard, I’ve mentioned on here a few times that this is my exact feeling about Tulane athletics as a whole. For my health I decided a few years ago to just try to enjoy the kids compet...

Re: PICK FOR NEW TULANE BASEBALL COACH
If the coach doesn’t matter Then explain why/how David Pierce had success. I’ll wait. I’ve got all day Pierce coached players who were recruited by previous coach before the tranfer/partial scholarship rules were put into effect. Recruiting to Tulane much harder now . Wizard, starting with next Tul...

Re: PICK FOR NEW TULANE BASEBALL COACH
I’m not trying to be Debbie Downer but unless the challenges with the partial only scholarships and high Tulane tuition are solved, the hire will not mean a hill of beans. I think Riser might be interested due to the conference he’s in and Cannizzaro would take it to rehabilitate his career in coll...

Come on guys, didn't the Wave finish the regular season third in the third best baseball conference this year? I haven't looked at RPI's because I haven't been online the last few days but I bet it's stil in the 40's. I think the Wave are a lock for post season play, just don't know where. Uh, no.

Re: Cincy Series Thread
Jewett throwing Ahltoff u dear the bus smacks of a coach lacking confidence in himself. IMHO that is why he pitches his best arms too many pitches early in the season putting too much emphasis on winning every game in the short term at the expense of the long term success of the season.

Re: Cincy Series Thread
Really glad Jewitt let Ohltoff get all those early pitches in this year. Nice and fresh as really important part of schedule appears. Desperate coaches do desperate things. Pitching other guys early does two things, develops pitching depth and saves your best pitchers arms esp those with first round...
