Wish he got better coaching while here at Tulane. He'd have a better shot at playing in the NBA. I think he's going to play elsewhere, and that's a shame. He's a fine young man with a bright future regardless of his playing future.

Re: Calipari to Arkansas massive deal
Did we forget Coach Cal has won national championships, has taken teams from the OLD Atlantic 10, and C-USA to the final four, and been in the championship game a few times? From 2005 to 2015, his teams failed to make the Sweet 16 ONCE. Three times in those 11 years he bowed out in the Elite 8, twic...

Re: Tiger droppings rumor mill
LSU is desperate for a starting caliber DT. As for the competition argument that never works with athletes. They of course think they'll win it and get the job. If he stays here it's b/c he's happy here and believes in the new staff. On the other hand, if he leaves, he's NOT making a statement abou...

According to this Kentucky source, he's said "No way".

Re: Calipari to Arkansas massive deal
Dan Hurley of UCONN now being heavily courted by Kentucky to take Cal’s spot. Rumors have UK’s offer to be higher than any SEC FB coach is currently making now. Wow. SEC money is nice for sure. FWIW: Hurley addressed the UK job within an hour of winning his back to back championship. He said he's n...

Re: Inside the new CFB Super League of 70 teams.
Another proposal that’s taking up space during a down time for College Football. As someone else said, the proposal is nothing until it’s something, but this one has a lot of speculation that’s unlikely to happen. And the additional post with Tulane as an 8 seed in an expanded playoff is also a com...

Keep living on your 7 game win streak. I have plenty to sa y after watching Tulane athletics for 55 years. I know plenty and this is a sandlot team with a softball coach. OK, expert. Maybe you should be the coach. I'm not going to argue about something so stupid. You call a 15-13 team "sandlot...

Re: Elevation Of Baseball to the Next Level
Why would Kingston leave SC? And for Tulane? No possible way EXACT:Y! There's a better chance of me hitting the lottery, twice, while getting struck by lightning as the winning numbers are drawn both times. You don't leave South Carolina to come to Tulane unless you were fired as the Gamecocks HC.

The first player that speaks right after Eamon Kelly gushes about Mack Brown wanting the players to have a true college experience, looks just like Josh Remetich. Changing subjects, I didn't realize Ken Karcher played for Mack.

Re: FAU AD Brian White hires Baylor assistant as it’s new MBB HC
Refreshing to see an AD that anticipated losing his coach, had a short list ready, and moved quickly to get the man he targeted. No need for hiring consultants and doing a long, drawn out "nationwide search." I would expect our AD, having moved from Tulane tradition, likewise has a short l...

Re: Hunter sez's
JMU knew they were losing their coach. They had no interest in Hunter. Absolutely none. They're in an interesting situation with both the President and the AD having announced leaving JMU and retiring, respectively. And now they have to hire a basketball coach who won't know who is bosses will be.

Re: Another NFL woke rule
I thought this was another sissy rule until I heard it explained on the NFL network on SiriusXM. They're talking about the tackles where the defender grabs the hip and throws their weight on the lower body. This type of tackle doesn't happen that often and is typically done by a DB on an RB when he'...

Re: Tulane in the new Metro 8
UTSA also announces ticket sales like most other programs. I know the Alamodome looked like there were plenty of good seats available whenever I’ve seen them play. The lower bowl was about 1/4 full. And I also know their tv ratings, for a program that’s won so many games the past few years, suck. Th...

What Newman thinks as “pimping” Mensah or Thompson is any comment that is complementary of either one. He takes those as insults to his boy Kai. I know I don’t really care which one wins, so long as whoever wins is successful. But the shit we’ve had thrown at us by Newman since Kai got on campus mak...

Re: JMU vs Tulane (Football)
I had to google who JMU was. And then, I only recalled who they were because of how well they played football last season. I'm not saying we shouldn't schedule them, I just feel there are other schools closer with better name recognition with the same/more benefits of playing JMU. They’ve won multi...

Re: JMU vs Tulane (Football)
Zero benefit? How about selling out Yulman? How about improving the quality of our schedule? I’m hearing a lot of lousy excuses to not play a team we might have a tough time beating. I know there were years before they were FBS they would have schooled us. I personally think we’ll be better faster w...

Re: JMU vs Tulane (Football)
We play 4 OOC games/year. 2024 will be the first time I can remember playing 2 against a Pee program. We’ve played other SBC teams, why not the best? The risk is losing, and if we don’t want to play them for fear of losing, we’re saying we’re chickenshit. I don’t buy that.

I spent the late afternoon into the wee hours of the morning with JMU’s leadership yesterday. One of my best friends is an alum and large donor and he came up for the games. Met the President, Jon Alger, who told the inner circle earlier in the week that he’s leaving. Also met the longtime AD Jeff B...

I'm sorry, 'nut, but despite the population of San Antonio, UTSA is not getting into a PEE the next go-round. There's really not a lot more that UTSA offers other than a big TV market of viewers who are mostly disinterested in UTSA athletics. I know you love your Texas Schools but the rest of the co...

Re: Spring Practice-2024
Like about throwing deep two quarterbacks that can hum it down field, question is time to throw. a good coach that mixes it up with play action, screens can give any quarterback time to throw and make a weak line look strong by confusing the defense rush. Having Ty as our starter will solve so many...
