Re: Ron Hunter Interview

I did not know Chris Gordy from Jobe before this link was posted! I did a quick search and learned this about Chris: 1. He's an LSU grad with a degree in Communications. 2. Although he lives in Houston, he works for 1280 Sports in New Orleans 3. He's a basketball guy He called the Hunter hire a &quo...

Re: UCONN looking to leave AAC for Big East

So...the AAC cannot hold a conference title game unless it adds a team, kicks a team out, or gets the NCAA to change the rules since a conference with less than 12 teams can only hold a title game if it plays a round robin. This should be interesting. Can they waive that for the Big 12 but not the ...

Re: UCONN looking to leave AAC for Big East

Mainly because we had Cowen, UConn didn’t. Cannot agree more. Yet I wonder why so many key alum/donors still think the guy walks on water? Especially in the wake of the hidden budget deficits that were uncovered during the Cowen era after we got Fitts. But none of us want this to digress into a Cow...

Re: UCONN looking to leave AAC for Big East

On October 12th at Yulman we should be about a 25 pt. favorite over the Huskies. :D No doubt. And if we don't cover, I'd be concerned. I'm not making any argument for the current state of the UConn football team. Or even their past history, or decision to leave the AAC. Just pointing out that, for ...

Was basically agreeing - not disputing. Navy may be physically closer to Temple but it does not resemble a rival. Lucky for them they have the Big Five to keep the traditional baskeball fires burning, but nothing but the occasional Penn State, Pitt or Notre Dame game moves the needle for football f...

ECU will be competitive by the 2020 season. They hired a GREAT coach. Yes, I'm putting it in writing so you can make fun of me if it doesn't pan out. I'm that confident in Mike Huston. We should never talk about running programs out of the AAC due to poor results. I know there were some posting on t...

Re: UCONN looking to leave AAC for Big East

Since moving up to FBS, UConn has done some pretty remarkable things in a relatively short period of time. Yes, they haven't been relevant since Edsall left, but keep in mind how much $$ they invested to move up to FBS, and the fact that they tasted P6 money for a while and still enjoy decent fan s...

Re: UCONN looking to leave AAC for Big East

UConn basketball has suffered from bad coaching AND playing in the AAC. The AAC has hurt recruiting in a very big way. The regional rivalries were very important in their branding. To think they didn't add to the AAC is underestimating UConn's brand in both mens and women's basketball. The only nati...

Cheating in FB now. Yahoo lead story tonight. https://sports.yahoo.com/new-revelations-expand-ls-us-ncaa-issues-003319448.html So this happened when Vadal Alexander was at LSU, which probably means it's tied to the Les Miles regime and not to Ed Orgeron. LSU might get a slap on the wrist, or they m...

Not talking necessarily as a starter. I just seem to remember someone from the football team, maybe a DB or a WR who ended up playing G on the basketball team after the football season was over? A bench player of course, but was on the team. Carolina had a player, I believe was a TE on the football...

I could care less if it was any of Dunleavys guys leaving. Ali definitely has the build and look of an inside force. Love how many big time programs were on him.
