Re: PARKING ... PARKING ... PARKING (and badly needed)
We've been asking that question on this board, the heat was turned up pre Playbook, then he came out and gave a terrible performance but an on campus stadium was mentioned so many Tulane supporters backed off b/c the thought of an OCS excited them. Kind of like after the review when everyone backed ...

Re: PARKING ... PARKING ... PARKING (and badly needed)
That's great, but NOPD won't let you pay to park in people's driveways or people's lawn or on the neutral ground as evidenced by this years Mardi Gras. At 35-40,000, a parking solution, and a committment to whats actually going on on the field I'm all for it. At 25,000 it's a waste of time.

Re: Tulane Stadium Game Day
Still got a brick my dad had in my house, and a framed aerial photograph of Gilliam's return in the Saints opener. A stadium done the right way would be a great thing, but would today's Uptown and today's New Orleans of permits and parking nightmare allow it to happen? From the stories my dad told m...

How out of touch
is Dickson? He had to have thought this announcement would be celebrated. Instead its the 1st thing in decades that 100% of Tulane supporters have become united against. At this point after a decade of no success, bad hires, inability to create any vision for anything, and then the 1 thing he had to...

Re: IT'S NOT COMING
I've never understood the respect level for Dickson. I realize his performance during the review to save sports was above average, but his actual performance of running the athletic department has been abysmal. His hires have been bad, his decisions bad, his attitude toward questions from fans has b...

Re: PARKING ... PARKING ... PARKING (and badly needed)
I agree with you, but I specifically heard Dickson yap and yap at the Playbook about Misinformation and how WE needed to take OWNERSHIP of OUR program. WE of course being the fans. If he's going to call a meeting to specifically announce that they want our input and they want us to truly get involve...

Re: PARKING ... PARKING ... PARKING (and badly needed)
Even the most fervent Tulane can do no wrongers on YOGWF including BigMoneyTX think 25K is stupd and unacceptable. It appears to me that 90-100% of Tulane fans are against no this idea no matter what online forum you talk about. 35K should be the minimum that's accepted. Will Dickson respond to the ...

Re: PARKING ... PARKING ... PARKING (and badly needed)
Dickson doubled season tickets by relying heavily on out of town alums that had zero plans of ever going to a home game. How about the 38K that showed up for the Rice game in 96 after a 2-9 or 3-8 season? The way that you place your facts is disingenuous and only hurt the real discussion that needs ...

Re: IT'S NOT COMING
FWIW even the YOGWF'ers are disgusted by the 25K number. Anything less than 35K is a huge mistake. Mike Johnston stated something in the article that I brought up on here months and months ago. By the time this thing ever happens we'll be looking at 80-90 million to build 25k stadium. For half of th...

Re: IT'S NOT COMING
That's some really terrible reporting. She can't get facts right and then she puts the B.S. about SMU that's completely false. They were terrible until they ponied up money for June Jones. What the hell are we going to do with a 25,000 person stadium? That's smaller than Gormley.

28.9 K after the Review which in my opinion is amazing. I'll debate you anywhere, anytime Green Wave. You don't know your a$$ from a hole in the wall. Let's put our real names out there and debate the state of Tulane Football without internet monikers. I'm more than ready to address your B.S.

Re: What would you do?
Quite frankly the level of Tulane bashing that occurs amongst the Tulane fanbase is significantly lower than bashing at just about any other school in the country. Most administrators that work at schools far more successful in athletics have to deal with way more "bashing" than the employ...

Re: What would you do?
Does that mean you disagree with what he wrote? I think it's pretty accurate, unlike your last few posts such as the attendance one which clearly showed you have zero recollection of the events and momentum around the program at the time. The only guy I know who has a bloated sense of self worth is ...

Re: PARKING ... PARKING ... PARKING (and badly needed)
I'm not against a stadium if it's done correctly. I am against stuffing a mini stadium into an area with absolutely no parking and doing nothing to fix the actual program. The logical way to do things here is to invest heavily in the actual program and save what's left of our fanbase and increase in...

I don't think a Tulane degree is necessary for a new President, I would think someone who has some knowledge and experience of being a part of a University with big time successful sports would be our best bet.

Re: What would you do?
Whether I go to the games or not has little if anything to do with the venue. After suffering through terrible season after terrible season my only concern at this point is the quality of the product on the field. I can't justify continuing to watch this team go 3-9 year in year out when I've been d...

Re: PARKING ... PARKING ... PARKING (and badly needed)
Here's the truth before you spin it. In 96 we were drawing 3-5,000 people in the stands consistently. In 97 we opened against Cincy in front of 16K real bodies. The next week we played Rice in front of 19K real bodies. By the end of the season for the Memphis game we were consistently drawing 23K re...

Re: PARKING ... PARKING ... PARKING (and badly needed)
I've been posting this for 20 years. This is my last time posting this. In 1996 we drew 3,500 total for Tulane-Syracuse for the last game. In 98 for the Houston game before La.Tech we drew a legitimate 27,000 people. Not inflated but legit. That's a 23,500 increase in 24 months. For the La.Tech game...

Re: PARKING ... PARKING ... PARKING (and badly needed)
It fucking hurts my feelings to remember Terrance Jones being up 35-7 against Louisville at halftime in 1987 in my dad's camp in Mississippi. He lost 42-40. My dad created the Greenbackers, he died in January from a Cardiac Arrest. I've had enough of this bullshit.

Do you have a printable source corroborating 38,000? As far as I can tell there aren't any printable sources corroborating anything.

Re: PARKING ... PARKING ... PARKING (and badly needed)
I worked a job down there for a few days 3 weeks ago. There was nowhere to park. I got 2 tickets, and it took me 30 minutes each time to find those parking spots. The few people I know that go to summer school at Loyola preparing for the Bar, etc. tell me they park 6 blocks away from campus and walk...

Re: UNCC 49'ers new 45 mil stadium
Everything I've heard that was even from a remotely reputable source has been 25,000. I'm not saying that's right, I'm just saying I have yet to hear anyone with any know suggest that it's even 30 much less low 30's. I am admittedly less in the know now than I was even 5 years ago, but that's the on...

I'm pretty sure I stated earlier that it was originally under a different name and run by I believe Joe Parfait, not positive it was 15 years ago when I started posting. I believe this site will overtake it, quite frankly as a Tulane fan I'm embarrassed by that site and I hate that people think that...
