Re: Tulane v. La. Monroe

The Vegas boys know that our D can't stop or contain Browning & Co. They also know that our O line can't block, so we won't be able to outscore them. They also have a pretty good idea that our special teams will give away at least 1 TD. The short point spread somewhat surprises me also. 17 to 24...

Re: Shitty starts

TU has been in losing mindset for so long that they now reflect the losing attitude with their listless, non-motivated, sloppy, confused and downright ugly style of play. The current entire coaching staff seems to lack the ability to frame an offense that fits the players we have: motivate the team ...

Re: Offensive line

The awful truth is: we are going to be stuck w/Donelly, Uzdzvinis, and the rest of these clods for a least 1 or more years, we have not recruited any O lineman in the 2014 class and we step up in competition next year. We need more Chris Taylors!

Re: Tulane 17 - Syracuse 52

ULM will run this team into the ground next week while they run around looking stupid and lost. I think that we may have some players that think that they are better than they are. Our 4* safety talks a lot, but missed a easy tackle that cost us a TD and then tried to tackle a SU RB high and got run...

Re: Tulane 17 - Syracuse 52

TU was bad in every phase of the game. We didn't tackle, block, execute offensively and our special teams play was a special tribute to incompetence on the part of the coaching and players. Don't think that the D even showed up during the entire game and the O line gets worse with every game. I thou...

Re: Special Teams

TU football has got to be the dumbest group ever assembled and put in football uniforms. Running the KO out of the endzone w/no chance of getting it back to the 25 yd line; failing to get away from a punt after it is bouncing around deep in TU territory; 2 blocked kicks; 2, very stupid, 15 yd penalt...

Re: The Offensive Line Play

Hate to disagree w/the coaches, but either they were not watching closely or their criteria for strong play and mine are totally different. I did not see Uzdavinis pick up a single blitz, but I did see him miss a block completely and grab the defender as he went by costing us 10 yards for holding. H...

Re: The Offensive Line Play

Agree w/wave runner. Uzdavinis is still listed as the starter on the current depth chart w/Santa Marina listed #2. Last week, Uzdavinis played poorly. He missed a lot of blocks & caused a penalty because he held after a missed block. At this time, he is one of the poorest O linemen we have. Don'...

Re: Tulane 24 - La. Tech 15

Tried to concentrate on the OL while watching the game. Morgan, Mares, Shienle and Taylor played pretty good. Donnelly/not good and Uzdavinis/awful ( the only time I saw him even slow someone up was when he grabed their jersey and cost us a 10 yd penalty. Didn't see Skidmore, Scold or Hanson. Uzdzvi...

Re: The Offensive Line Play

Looking back a ways, Bear Bryant always knew what a good OL meant to his success. Sometimes he had what looked to be undersized O linemen, but he wanted them to be fast, w/good lateral movement; strong; smart and mean and nasty as hell when they played. I think we have a couple of those now in Shien...

Re: Tulane 39 - South Alabama 41

The TU football program is a pure mess. An offense that doesn't fit an alleged college team. A coaching staff that doesn't know what they are doing. A QB that can't throw the long ball. An OL line that is soft, slow and plays with little effort. A DL (filled with has-beens) that can't stop a good HS...

Re: Future Teams on Tulane's Schedule on TV

The Rice QB is good and they have a 235 Lb running back (#12) who is also good and a load to bring down. He will run over our light linebackers unless the DL can slow him up first. LaTech runs the no-huddle and hurry-up offense and they do it well. The had 4 turn-overs and helped NC State out quite ...

Re: Tulane 34 - Jackson State 7

I agree with wavedat. CJ is going to run the offense he wants, but with the athletes and speed we have, I just don't understand why he is insisting on a "3 yards and a cloud of dust" offensive scheme. Last year we produced a much better offensive scheme running the no huddle spread or at l...

Re: Tulane 34 - Jackson State 7

My concern is our OC Price. He didn't call good games last year and it seems to be starting again. We were 42% on 3rd down conversion; 43% in time of possession; 44% in pass completions and our offensive production was 48 yards less that JSU. If he continues with this pure vanilla offense all year l...

Re: Tulane 34 - Jackson State 7

Only followed the game on GameTracker, but I was wondering what was going on. Offense appeared to be stale and not very efficient. Decent running game did not seem to be there. When did we start the mass subsitutions start(saw 5 or 6 w/o) listed as playing? One named Herman that I have never heard o...

Re: Are there any old fans out there who sat in the . . . .

Thanks for the walk in the past of TU football. It's been 41 years since that play and I'm still burned up over it. Curci knew what down it was, but we all know what Curci was and you wouldn't want to step in it.

Re: Are there any old fans out there who sat in the . . . .

I attended every home game @ Tulane Stadium during the 1948-1949 & 1950 seasons. Sat in the student section. We were in the SEC then. Got to see the great Eddie Price play. Also got to see Ole Miss great Dixie Howell and Auburn great Travis Tidwell play. Was also in the Orange Bowl in Miami and ...

Re: 5 to 6 FB players MIGHT be suspended for 1 game..

Discipline is one of the keys to winning. I'd rather this did not have to happen, but this is a good time to get the team's attention. CJ/staff are acting like they really mean business and I believe that this will carry on to the field when the season gets started. The suspended players will either...

Re: 2013 Tulane Football Fall Camp Schedule and Other Info

I think Montana will do just fine. He brings a better overall skill set (run & pass) than Griffin did, he will be playing behind a much better conditioned, much stronger, veteran OL, with some good, quality depth. He inherits a veteran WR group w/speed and good hands. He also has some RB's who a...

Keaton can run from scrimage and has excellent hands as a receiver. Best...

Re: Question through 10 commits

Was thinking the same thing until I took a closer look at the total picture. Looks like CJ and staff like what they see in these kids and are carefully fitting the pieces in place. The 2 kickers are both top notch and will fill our kicking needs for the next 4 years, both punting, PAT & KO. Gins...

Re: Yulman Stadium Construction

In photo #3, there is a structure above the seating and a building with a window right up to the stadium structure. What building is this?
What is the structure above the seating rows? The numbers just don't add up for 28K-30K if there are only 17 rows. Appreciate the photos of the construction.
