Re: Shame on you Tulane administration!
it's crazy to think you would spend close to $100million and use the facility 5-6 times a year Although it was not close to $100 million - That's one of the many reasons why I did not support the building of this particular stadium. If the idea is to make it special to play there, why would you wan...

Re: Shame on you Tulane administration!
The intrinsic value it could bring. I have read through all of this thread and I think you are severely overstating this "intrinsic value" to Tulane. Tulane wouldn't get much, if any, value from hosting this high school game. I'm going on the fact that Turchin had a great response to the ...

Re: Shame on you Tulane administration!
How much do you really think a sponsor is going to put up for a high school game??? TV is not an option either. Nobody is going to broadcast a high school game at 3:00PM on a Saturday. This. More like Tulane lying as usual. Just for your info FNBC sponsors many HS baseball games on TV. The are broa...

Re: Shame on you Tulane administration!
These arguments r absurd. Playing this game at a brand new nola stadium with a huge hd screen turns this into a city wide event. The marketing value is endless. Parents, fans and players would be so excited. People who have never been in the tu bubble would b exposed to the beautiful campus. Hell, ...

Re: Shame on you Tulane administration!
The cost can simply be offset by a sponsor such as FNBC, Cox, or All State etc. This is done for HS games at the dome. The bottom line is that Tulane has spent close to $100 million on a facility that can only be used 6-7 times a year. What a disgrace for a so called "community" stadium.

Re: Shame on you Tulane administration!
You have to remember that the schools want to make money too. So they will want a share of the concessions ,parking,et al. When you throw in the cost of the shuttle, police, sanitation it probably reaches a point where the schools aren't interested. Yenni holds only 5-7K The schools make most of th...

Yes. That's probably going to limit him in some ways. If offered I wonder if he'd take it.

Re: Shame on you Tulane administration!
Tulane should be leveraging Yulman as much as possible. Anyone who attends a Jesuit or Rummel or BM game at Yulman is a prospective customer/fan for Tulane. Security and concession workers aren't that expensive. And the Catholic schools could share in that cost. This is about not wanting to irritat...

Re: Mack Brown
It's being reported that Mack has had preliminary talks with SMU and they're talking in the $4 million per year for 8 years range. Wouldn't surprise me at all if Mack gets introduced there before the end of November so he can get started on recruiting and building his staff. I'd bet Greg Davis Sr. ...

Re: Shame on you Tulane administration!
Scott is being lied to. How could we lose money if there are 10-15k people at the games. Yes we'd lose money on Cohen vs Carver. It's total BS Jesuit vs Rummel is cost prohibited. It's a typical BS line Tulane is using. That would be not much less than what we now really draw.

Re: Shame on you Tulane administration!
Per Scott Kushner, Tulane "agreement" with the city council makes hosting HS games cost prohibitive. So apparently we can't afford to host these games. Wow. That's disgusting. What a shame. The city high schools are short stadiums. This needs to be addressed. Wow four NIMBY's rule ...

Re: Shame on you Tulane administration!
Tulane should be proactive and seek to right this oversight come playoff time. Thanks to the split, all Catholic league teams plus St. Paul's, Catholic-BR, John Curtis, and Evangel will be in the same play-off bracket. Tulane is out of town the weekend of the division's quarterfinal round and plays...

Re: Basketball Season Tickets
TPS all wrong on this. To be successful we must emulate success. Tulane Gym is obsolete. Hopefully it will be the next New Orleans 'landmark' to fall down, forcing our hand to rebuild properly or move games to Smoothie King. Smoothie King was built for Tulane. Let's use it. Tulane gym was obsolete....

Though that is the stance they have to take, I completely agree. That still doesn't mitigate the fact that Devlin is a tougher sell and limits our revenue generation. However, if you can overcome that obstacle and fill the place it will be a huge advantage, but I prefer to take the SMU route and re...

Re: Shame on you Tulane administration!

Now maybe there is a provision for playoffs. This is an opportunity, le...

Re: Basketball Season Tickets
The gym, for those who do not know, was built and financed by the payout from the 1932 Rose Bowl. It was a 50-year old dump when I was there, it's now 80+ years ancient and by all rights should be the next item on TU's to-do list. It's a joke and an embarrassment to our new conference, not to menti...

Re: Shame on you Tulane administration!
I would rather not see high school teams using the stadium. Buy a ticket to a Tulane game if you want to visit Yulman. That's not the correct thinking. Many times high school games are played on Saturdays (Jesuit, BM and Rummel play many Sat games). In that case those parents and kids don't get a c...

Re: Basketball Season Tickets

The Tulane student section has been expanded to include both sections under the baskets as well as the current sideline seating that has been in place for years. Indivdual ...
