Re: How Will AAC Fare in Tourney
Doesn't matter how bad they want out. They aren't going anywhere. They won that NC based on the talent from when they were still in the BE. They won't win another one. They're head and shoulders above any other AAC team for an ACC expansion. Not. First off as I have posted several times there will ...

Re: How Will AAC Fare in Tourney
However, the truth is, the conference goes as football goes. Basketball doesn't move the needle. Its nice to say AAC has won some MBB and WBB national championships, but at the end of the day, that really has no impact. The AAC's new contract now pays us almost double what the Big East gets. AAC go...

Re: Ron Hunter rumored as a target for Tulane Vacancy
I don't think he'd be a bad hire, but he's not one I'd get excited about, either. Definitely an uptick from MD.

Re: How Will AAC Fare in Tourney
The past is the past and isn’t coming back. As all children realize- you can’t go home again. Do you hear me reciting the grandeur of our 1998 season and how we should be in a P5 at every opportunity ? How about being a founding members of the SEC with more championships then multiple current sec m...

Iona HC. Pretty impressive creds at Iona: https://icgaels.com/coaches.aspx?rc=850&path=mbball Coach Cluess could be a steal for TU. His team takes on No.1 seed NC tonight. This guy is a winner . Can obviously recruit and coach . Will he be willing g to come to Tulane and start over ? Let's hope...

Re: How Will AAC Fare in Tourney
Houston & UCF are our last two hopes. I could see Houston making a final four run and UCF could win some games. I root for the conference but i despise the fans of Houston/UCF/Cinci/Memphis who all believe they are SEC-esque powerhouse programs. Uconn is probably the worst/most humorous. Their ...

All in the family: https://www.theadvocate.com/new_orleans/sports/tulane/article_f37a4d14-4ce9-11e9-8238-9f5f497dfc19.html That wasn't verbatim the same article, but I've read 95% of what was in that article in a prior article. Maybe it wasn't the Advocate, but the only thing missing was the part a...

Iona HC. Pretty impressive creds at Iona: https://icgaels.com/coaches.aspx?rc=850&path=mbball Coach Cluess could be a steal for TU. His team takes on No.1 seed NC tonight. I suggested Cluess 3 years ago. A local kid from my hometown was his point guard at the time. Having thought about it in th...

Re: New AAC TV Contract Done
As I stated earlier CBS is being pushed to the curb here by ESPN and is going to get very little content form the AAC. so right now the number is actually under $7 million a school. The additional CBS dollars will likely only bring it up to $7 million or just a little more. I hope your right that i...

James Jones (Yale) is available now. Just saying. He was pretty much the top name from 3 years ago. I'm not interested in James Jones. He has a career record (all at Yale) of 310-276. He has no known exposure to the South (recruiting). About the only box his name checks is that he's had moderate su...

Re: New AAC TV Contract Done
Do you truly believed an experienced and respected former TV executive with a multi million dollar salary and a vested interest in extracting the most TV $$ for his conference was unaware of the dollar range and willingness of these alternative distribution platforms to negotiate ? This is reminisc...

Re: New AAC TV Contract Done
What ever happened to the idea of Amazon or Netflix creating a college sports channel and competing against ESPN for the AAC television deal? I was really hoping that was going to happen and drive up the AAC’s value especially since most of the P5 television contracts are locked in for another five...

Re: Potential Men’s Basketball Coaches thread
This is a pretty good article about Coaches that would welcome a step up. In some cases, they've already coached at a higher level. I particularly like Musselman, Oates and Odum. Then again, they're the top three on the list! https://watchstadium.com/news/these-college-basketball-coaches-will-be-the...

Re: Great Fear The Wave Interview with OC Will Hall
In addition to his gaffe on the kicking game he also said more than once that we are young. That is not the case especially on offense. Field goal kicking has been wanting; the rest of the kicking game has been pretty good. Even at that, I don't think Fritz likes to kick FGs anyway (which is perhap...

According to this, Henri Langton signed his LOI with Colorado-Colorado Springs (DII) on 3/20/19, which would be today. http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/henri-langton Henri was a recruit I was not impressed with. He didn't start, averaged 3 ppg, and DNP'd in a bunch of games at his JUCO. His bes...

Re: New AAC TV Contract Done
I would be lying if I said that I didn't secretly hope for at least $10M per team. Even though the AAC isn't a heavy hitter in terms of brands, the value is there for the extra ~$3M in terms of both MBB and FB. Basically, I'm disappointed even with the 4x increase. EDIT: Also, it allows ESPN to ter...

Re: Samir going pro
He will play in Europe, I'm sure. He's not close to the talent that Reynolds or Frazier have, and they can barely find minutes in the NBA. I wish him the best, and appreciate that he played his heart out while at Tulane.
