Re: Others getting votes
I think UAB was ranked #24 in one of the polls the year we beat them in that shootout at Gormley. I only remember that because I kept thinking how are they ranked.

Re: WAY too early season prediction
I think for a chance at a bowl we have to get out 4-1 at worst 3-2. That ECU, SMU, Houston stretch has disaster written all over it. At this point in the program we need to be able to beat SLU, Army, UAB, and Duke. If we can't then that's proof that the program is in no better shape than it was. It'...

Re: WAY too early season prediction
To be honest losing Banks and Figaro and the OC however good or bad he was leaves the offense up in the air. I have no idea what to expect from Toledo because the last time he called plays he had a 1st rd RB in Forte and no QB play whatsoever. I know what he ran that year, but if he has any offensiv...

Re: Opening day, BEST and WORST
I remember several hundred Tulane fans, mostly older and women standing in the concourse during that game to escape the heat.

Re: Opening day, BEST and WORST
Have to name a few for each, being 29 I can really only remember back to 87 barely. Worst: 87- Louisville 42 Tulane 40, I believe we were up 35-7 at halftime when Terrance Jones got hurt, L'Ville came all the way back and we had a chance to win it but our PK hooked a 50+ yarder that had the distance...

Re: This season, before and after our games, be sure to freq
To be fair there are more Tulane students and Tulane alumni in Baton Rouge for LSU games on Saturdays than there are at Tulane games. I think Walk-On's sucks, but if we are going to stop frequenting places that are owned and/or run by LSU fans and Alumni you would have nowhere to eat or drink and th...

Re: "Finish the job"
If I remember correctly Mack would be calling all kinds of plays and Jones and Zeno would just check off into there own stuff half the time. Hard to believe in 87 we went 3-1 against the SEC and were a dropped INT away against LSU from going 4-0.

Re: "Finish the job"
He seems to imply his Dad would've turned the corner if given another season. He seems to forget his dad took over a 6-6 team with a bowl appearance and a Heisman Candidate QB and turned it into a 1-10 team that was downright awful and got destroyed by USL in 4 years. Greg Davis was a pretty good OC...

Re: Interesting Tweet from Tammy
I'm not asking her to be a great investigative journalist. All I'm saying is to ASK a question such as: 1) Mr. Dickson do you think that a 25,000 capacity stadium would be too small? Rick, what options are you looking at parking wise? Mr. Dickson, in 1998 every home game except 1 which was played on...

Re: Interesting Tweet from Tammy
So she's a writer/journalist who doesn't like to be written about. Is that like a comedian who can't take a joke? I think you are correct as far as what she meant. Seems to be a foolish position to take for a journalist. If you want an accurate picture of a situation which is what a journalist is su...

Re: Interesting Tweet from Tammy
Speaking of recipe columns does anyone posess Rickey Jackson's Cookbook? It's a masterpiece. I don't know what to make of Tammy's tweet, was she referring to the argument about whether we should use Facebook or the TP to go after Dickson? Did she not enjoy her criticism on here? Who knows. That's wh...

Re: Doug Tatum
I don't know the stats but i'm assuming he was talking Per Capita as far as the newspaper goes, obviously the TP isn't going to match the sheer numbers of other publications in bigger cities. JDTulane, do you think Tammy is good? You know what feels dirty to me, when I support a program for 30 years...

Re: Where is Oliver N. Blue?
I've heard the restrained argument and believed it for awhile. Unfortunately he is just abysmal at hiring coaches and deciding when its time to fire coaches. His public performance over the last few years has been embarrassing as well. When he came from Washington St. the tape on him was that he was...

Well, then we're screwed. BTW I understand what facebook is and it's scope, but personally I think it's jumped the shark. I'm also not advocating against using social media, I'm just saying facebook doesn't seem to be the way to go to me. I've been using it for years for my business and the response...

Re: Where is Oliver N. Blue?
I know who Oliver is and what he did. I also know in the last few years he's pretty much gone to the dark side. A few months ago he was on YOGWF berating people who dared question whether or not the school was really making a commitment to Athletics threatening not to post anymore if people didn't c...

My friends who are 99% LSU fans all go to Tigerdroppings for their LSU info. They don't go to facebook for their LSU sports info. They go to nola.com and tigerdroppings. They go to facebook to look at their girlfriends or wives friends in bikinis if you get my drift. In this country facebook is a pl...

Re: Doug Tatum
I dont think Tulane alumni living outside New Orleans on the whole really care about Tulane football. Some do, but I think most are ambivalent towards it. Trying to reach a younger generation that doesn't care about this situation doesnt make a whole lot of sense to me either. Our fanbase currently ...

Re: 2010 Football Average per game
A place to practice when it rains. I know the Superdome usually lets us use it, but with the limited amount of practices you get you really can't afford to lose too many of them to Louisiana thunderstorms during August. It also puts you on par recruiting wise with other schools facilities. I dont un...

As a 29 yr old whose been on facebook since I was 21 or 22, very early on a girlfriend put me on there. I have to say that I don't think a facebook page is going to do it. Re: PARKING ... PARKING ... PARKING (and badly needed)
I know the dynamic between Cowen and Dickson. Cowen is behind most of everything that happens over there. However, they are both bad at their jobs, I don't have some dream that a new AD is going to change everything. I do believe a new AD could get the stadium right, hire better coaches, fix the P.R...
