Re: Should the G5 Have It's Own Playoff?

Terrible idea. We will then be a part of what we always viewed as 1-AA. Think recruiting is tough now imagine how rough it will be then. Can't see Aresco allowing that to happen. BTW, what is the source for this supposedly behind closed door scenario? +10000000000 IF this ever happens, I'm done wit...

Re: New facilities announcement

Still wish they would demo Wilson, rebuild it, and use the entire footprint to build the practice field on top of. You would easily have 100+ yards.

Re: Fall Camp 2017

https://twitter.com/Guersmith/status/895699510692687873 That's good to hear but I'll wait to see it in games. I remember Toledo saying the same thing about one of his early classes. I'm like Steve in that it's the same story every year with so many young guys in the 2-deep. This is pretty much the ...

Re: Fall Camp 2017

Very interesting that so many true freshman are pushing their way into playing time roles and into the 2 deep depth charts. This class that was panned by the ranking services (and many here) may turn out to be one that's long on addressing needs, if short on adding ratings services stars and high g...

Re: Yulman Stadium (Benson Field)

You can't even compare tailgating to the 1st half if the inaugural season to the last few games from last season. That has dwindled down too. It's all garbage, and until Tulane wins, nothing will ever change. P.S. I don't understand why we are keeping the Wilson Center. If we are building a new oper...

T-Club & Former Letter Winner ticket discount is NO MORE

Confirmed by a reliable source who was informed by the Ticket Office, I am told there is no more T-Club or former letter winner season ticket discount being offered for football season tickets. I'm not sure about the other sports, but I would imagine it's the same.

Re: Grade Troy Dannen on his first 6 months at Tulane

Positive: 4 head coaches and a new AD were hired all last spring semester. The VB program was the most improved team in the nation and won LA POY, COY and team of the year. Tulane hired a proven winner in football, an NBA coach of the year and one of the most sought after baseball coaches in the co...

Re: ESPN Loses 4M subs in the past year

Everyone understandably is focusing on cutting costs. That certainly is the more interesting story. However ESPN can still raise revenues the old fashioned sports broadcast way. Expand the CFB playoffs. Make it 16, 24 or even 32 teams and revenues explode for all. No one anywhere has ever reduced p...

Re: USM Game Thread

I haven't given up on Fritz, but he sure as hell didn't impress me in his first year. It's the Yoggie mentality creeping up on here that is the most surprising. At the end of the day, it's about winning. Always has been, always will be. And last time I checked, you'd be hard-pressed to find many W's...

Re: USM Game Thread

I haven't given up on Willie Fritz yet nor should you. I wonder if Alabama should have fired Nick Saban after his first season in 2007 when even with the Tide's tradition and resources for football he still went 6-6, losing to Georgia, Florida State, LSU, Miss. St., UL-Monroe and Auburn? Again, tak...

Re: USM Game Thread

But I'm a Tulane fan who likes to go to Tulane games. Your conventional wisdom of "I'll see Tulane when they win" isn't my way. But it's the way of the bandwagoners and the students. I'll miss y'all and the students at the games but something tells me that doesn't much matter to you or th...

Re: USM Game Thread

I'm not trolling and I don't expect any replies. Reading the above, I'm migrating from being surprised to amazed at the number of self-described hard core fans here who are now not going to games, glad they didn't renew season tickets and I guess prefer to rearrange their sock drawer than see Tulan...

I voted C simply because our win-loss record is still 0-0. Not being negative, and I like everything he's done so far, but so far, it's all been on paper. It's been a year now. We've been through the debacle of football, and now basketball. Honestly curious of how some of the A graders feel now. 1s...
