Re: Lindsey Scott commits to LSU now transferring to EMCC

I doubt he comes to Tulane but that he was fourth string at LSU and barely even sniffed the practice field only reinforces the opinion of those who could recruit him that he can't play FBS QB because of his height. They will dismiss his earlier success as being against low level competition. Fritz w...

Re: Lindsey Scott commits to LSU now transferring to EMCC

He's mobile, but not a great passer. Tulane doesn't run an Air Raid type offense like Tech. He's a better fit for the Tulane offense. Thanks for posting that. That was the word out of BR that he wasn't cutting it as a passer. His offers may pick up but they weren't overwhelming when he came out and...

Re: Coaching Changes

Here ya go. Don't know how much truth there is to it. http://footballscoop.com/the-scoop/ I guess Tulane pay is near the bottom. With WF making $1.2 million. http://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/salaries/ Looks like Tulane is slightly ahead of ECU, USF and UConn in salary. Temple doesn't report on this ...

Re: Southern Game Thread

weather super-underachieves today. Winter is here.

Tulane game at moment appears off the board in Vegas.

For those of you who hate the noon start time, you might prefer Houston's home game today against Fairfield. They tip-off at 11am!

Re: Coaching Changes

Did Les Myles really sign a contract that has his buyout reduced if he works elsewhere? Because that's not how most contracts work. Terrible job by his agent/lawyer if that's the case. D- that's actually quite common in coaches contracts. I've seen it mentioned several times in the last few years. ...

UNC won this game. Tulane didn't lose it. A better larger faster more skilled team beat decisively a worse smaller slower less skilled team. Disappointing? Sure. Look we root for Tulane and the very improbable upset. It didn't happen. Vegas had UNC as a 20 point favorite. It won by 24. It's the def...

Re: UNC Game Thread

We were never going to win this game. I don’t mind scheduling it, because you need to give yourself a measuring stick every now and then. But we don’t have the talent to win a game like this in Chapel Hill or even be competitive in it. The bigger concern for me is that once teams started playing zo...

Re: Coaching Changes

Just thinking out loud on this beautiful Sunday Morning. UCF - I really feel for the fans there. It appears that Scott Frost loved the UCF environment and was really torn about leaving. Heck, maybe I'm wrong, but he was obviously emotional after the Memphis game and during his press conference. It ...

USN&WR no. 171, below even LSU & Ole Miss. BFD. That's the overall University, which has 60,000 undergrads and 12 campuses. They have certain programs, as I pointed out, that are ranked WAY higher than Tulane. Yes, Tulane at $60k/year is ranked much higher. But for less than what it costs t...

Re: Southern MBB Game

The rationale is to attract as many kids as possible who will grow into becoming Tulane fans. (Hey it worked with Colin Slater.) Is it a viable attendance building strategy? I think not but Tulane has never drawn well in pre-conference games and this goes back to any basketball conference Tulane has...

Re: Tulane beats Alcorn St. 81-65

Really hope to see less of Frazier's three pointers. I know he is supposed to be improved but I think he will revert back to form as a below average outside shooter. Just curious. How many games have you seen Frazier play over his career? His frosh year he made 26% of his threes and 51% of his FTs....

Re: UNC Game Thread

The Roy Williams system is pushing the ball up the court and maximizing possessions to score a lot of points and wear out their opponent. They are typically not very concerned with defense. They like to play man so Tulane O might look OK. Despite shooting the 3 fairly well against mediocre (generou...

Re: Tulane beats Alcorn St. Game 81-65

Best student turnout this season and as good as any in last several seasons. Otherwise it's a win but play by most if not all was really bad in second half. Cornish did not have a good game and Ona Embo's passing was suspect. If Slater can pick up his defense, we may see alot more of him at PG. On t...

Re: Tulane embarrassed at Georgia State 70-59

Thanks for the replies. I'll be at the game tonight. I guess I was just surprised as were apparently a few others at use of term "embarrassed" for losing by 11 points to a team Vegas had favored by 4.5. None of us are sugar coating anything. It was ugly watching that game and disappointing...

You don't like your new boss, you move on. Too bad. Part of being an incoming CEO is to keep the team together where possible. I wish Gozzo well but personalities matter here too. His brother stayed so obviously he did not choose the solidarity route with Paul. That to me indicates it's mostly an in...

Thanks for posting. TJ represents himself well and reports/analyzes Tulane honestly but positively. Refreshing. I listened to very little of radio feed this year because I was either at games themselves or watching ESPN/CBSSN. Next year (I assume he'll return) I'll try to listen to radio feed more.

So who has tickets for Wednesday and who is going? Just curious.

We will be stuck with the outcome unless SMU "foregoes" the win and that ain't happening. However several things may come out of this: First, Massive disciplining of the relevant members of the officiating crew if not the entire crew. If bad players get benched, then treat bad refs the sam...

Interesting decision coming up for Lee. He’ll get drafted and playing on Sunday’s still in the cards IMO. He’s showed potential for greatness and the NFL can see it. He should get an agent after next week. Ya mean good ole Colin Kaepernick can't get a job, but Tanner "INT" Lee can ?!?!?.....

Dylan leading scorer on Texas, taking duke to OT. Incredible he only had one foul the entire game. Played great on offensive end of floor but not much on defense. Once the UT stud center fouled out, it was dunk central for Duke to win in OT. I love DO but not much has changed in two years. He still...
