Re: Tulane and LSU host FB camp in June

I probably would have forced LSU's hand on the game they owed us as part of the deal but that may not be something Dannen or Fritz wants at this time- maybe wait until we are in a better position to win. Also, I disagree that the camp will increase the threat of poaching from LSU. LSU is the elephan...

Re: Tulane and LSU host FB camp in June

I see it a different way. TU loses more recruits to out of state schools than to LSU, which is why its no secret that CWF has wanted to pair up with LSU over an out-of-state P5. Attract the same level of recruits, serve as their host, and don't have to compete for the recruits at your own camp.

Re: Tommy Bowden...

Never ceases to amaze me how many losers hate Bowden. Only at TU do fans bad mouth the most successful coach in the past 2 decades at TU (our only quick turnaround ever?). He deserved to be honored by TU and I venture a guess that this wouldn't even be a discussion if Fat Cowen hadn't screwed him at...

Re: UCF GameDay Thread

Cracks me up how much people don't know about sports and the process of building a program. Sad how many knee jerk hateful people open their mouths so easy. Anybody with any sense knows this will take at least 3 seasons to move the team into the top half of conference. Then season 5 and on competin...

Re: Baseball Coaching Search

I'm hearing that it is AC's to lose. Short of a belly flop in today's interview, AC will get it. Also, hearing that Gautreau may sign up as Asst. HC. We can only hope. That would be awesome. How? It might be awesome for some #tbt posts on the Tulane baseball social media accounts, but hardly seems ...

If Dannen shares your logic, then I sure hope you're both right. His inexperience as a coach in any capacity worries me. Out of curiosity, was he interviewed at Alabama?

Re: Baseball Coaching Search

Skip Bertman had never been a head coach before LSU. His coaching was limited to HS in Miami before going to UM as an assistant. LSU then hired Smoke because they wanted a guy with head coaching experience. Lol. Are you suggesting that college baseball today is comparable to college baseball in the...

Re: Baseball Coaching Search

The current head coach of the team playing tonight for the national championship was never even involved with a D1 team prior to getting his head coaching job at his current School that he has been with for 20 years. He was a major league Scout for the Seattle Mariners and Cleveland Indians and coa...

Re: Baseball Coaching Search

If Tulane is AC's dream job, we will get another shot at him. Hell, if he thinks TU should be a national power, he should expect not to get first dibs on the job. Let him get some HC experience. TU should not be in the business of grooming HCs- especially not in baseball. I don't understand the urge...

Re: Baseball Coaching Search

I will stop short of saying that Cannizaro would be a bad hire, but he is not a known quantity in terms of the level of success he would bring to TU as a HC. THose of you saying he should be hired without a search have severely low expectations, i.e. you don't appreciate the Dannen era yet.

This is a good opportunity for Tulane to pick off a top 25 opponent. The Cajuns have played poorly on the road - particularly in midweek road games. Hopefully we can keep up the momentum from this past weekend and jump on them early.

Re: Tulane FB OOC schedules 2014 thru 2023

Looking forward to learning Dannen's scheduling philosophy. I hope he gets very aggressive about getting LSU on the Football and Basketball schedules. Don't give a rats behind about playing LSU ever again. We can get the same experience/exposure playing other major p5 programs who would be more wil...

Re: Welcome Aboard Willie Fritz!!!

Since the name Frank Wilson has come up so many times for Tulane head coach, would Frank Wilson, under the guidance of Willie Fritz, be someone you would trust with OC duties? If we offered him enough, and if Fritz were calling the plays, would having a recruiter like him on staff be valuable? Why ...

Agree. I hope we are looking for someone energetic and out to prove something - no matter the age necessarily. To that end, is anyone else alarmed that Meacham "was never a candidate"? He was OC of a top 10 offense in a conference that we are not-so-secretly hoping to join... If he was con...

Can you imagine Tulane firing a coach under such circumstances? http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/11998878/houston-cougars-fire-coach-tony-levine It is high time for Tulane to start taking more pride in the product on the field, and pay attention to the butts (or lack thereof) in the se...

IMHO, that schedule will afford us one of two things: 1) it could afford us the opportunity to hire a hot shot young HC from a peer G5 school or a desirable P5 coordinator who will see a tremendous opportunity to win quickly and get credited with a tremendous turnaround; OR 2) it will assure us anot...

Not referring to Rich Rod. We don't disagree that keeping the status quo could be the death knell for TU football. We disagree that the facilities are an impediment to on-field success. You are ignoring the move up to the AAC and I think that is a significant flaw in your analysis of the current st...

It goes w/out saying that a good coach can win at Tulane. The problem is in this day and age w/getting a good coach to take the job. There is no administrative support for one. Then there is the very lacking facilities. The administration keeps ignoring the facilities issues. If too many of our fan...
