Re: Tulane loses a tough one to ULL in 11, 5-2

It is widely assumed that a former player of a coach is considered his protege. As far as $$, there are ways to work it out. Problem is the Tulane administration doesn't care to. Very easy to do- if a LA kid meets tops, then Tulane can say that any student athlete who meets tops can qualify for 100...

Re: Tulane loses a tough one to ULL in 11, 5-2

Sad how we have digressed in baseball. Bring back Jones, or at least a Jones protege. Matt Riser is still the head baseball coach in Hammond. TU (TJ) RPI is 118 SELA (Riser) RPI is 131 USF (Mohl) RPI is 117 Which protégé would you like? why the hell would Billy leave USF to come back to Tulane ? I ...

Re: Dishonest Question

Considering how crappy this program has been fo so long, this is just as bad as the death penalty. Worse I'd argue. All those top teams have shown that if you can put together 5/10 years of good to great basketball then you can get through the sanctions and retain the prestige. Louisville became a ...

Re: UCONN MBB fires HC possible $10 mill buyout

On ESPN just now Seth Greenberg the analyst made a comment that Connecticut needs to leave the American nobody wants to see them play East Carolina or Tulane. They have no where to go because independence in FBall, especially for a program like UConn, is just too difficult. Yep, even for UCONN, a t...

Re: Honest question

I am cautiously optimistic about football next season. I do have some level of anticipation for that. I currently have no excitement for the other two sports. Dunleavy took the job at 67, he will I believe be in his 3rd year at 70 yrs old next year. How many conference games does he need to win nex...

Re: Tulane loses 8-7 to UNO

The Jewitt haters are still in force, but at least we don't have to hear about how much better Cannizaro would have been anymore. Jewitt may or may not end up being a good hire, but it's far from certain at this point. The self-loathing Tulane army will just never give an inch. It used to be funny ...

Season winners will be determined by Sunday's game at UCF who should be favored by approx 6 points. Leaders in the clubhouse are: GolfNut 5, NetShorty 5, OUG 6, GreenLantern 6. The prognosticator's trophy is at the engravers awaiting Sunday's final score. Optimist awards: GalvezWave 10, JaxWave 9-1...

Re: Melvin Frazier now projected 1st round pick

Why does the media keep saying Mike Dunleavy is bringing in a talented class and posters here keep saying his recruiting stinks? I don't know if it stinks or not . Research shows we beat out nc greensboro, Hofstra and Stetson for another wing and a 6-8 180 pound forward that would have suffered the...

Re: Melvin Frazier now projected 1st round pick

Here's how I understand it, and how it was discussed during the broadcast: If he doesn't hire an agent, he can be included in the draft and still come back if he doesn't like where he's drafted (or goes undrafted.) FWIW, the announcers talked about Frasier very little compared to their gushing abou...

Re: Cincy Wipes Out The Wave 78-49

Attendance was 2,824. Both Devlin and the crowd looked good on TV. Yes. But it sounded quiet. I found it interesting and positive that we are capable of pulling 2800 to see a bad team play a good one. That's kind of new. There must be some good will building up. If Tulane had an NIT level team that...

except for Passing, Shooting, Rebounding, Defense and running any semblance of an Offense, I thought it was a very even game The most discouraging thing is that we were playing better basketball this time a year ago. That team kept improving and was a tough out at the end of the season. Right now, ...

Re: Tulane Athletics question.

If the administration and the AD commit to winning basketball, Dunleavy will get us there. It's not an overnight fix, but can be done in 3-4 years. It's easier to do in a conference like the SEC, but can be done in the AAC, just not in one recruiting class. Everything I read and hear online or on t...

We're not going to be good with or without him next year. Having a first round pick would be a more valuable recruiting boost than him contributing 18 ppg on a team that's not going anywhere.

Re: ECU Game 2 Thread

the better team won. ECU has more heart , more balls, better players. There's not much to like about this Tulane team right now. Sehic should be the focal point of the offense. nobody else can make a layup. I thought we were a few pieces away. But we're no where near being a competitive AAC team.
