Re: Slow day..... My starting line up on Defense

WaveQB-I have been following TU football since 1948 and other than the 1998 season, I have not felt this much excitement about a TU team. The 2013 class brings speed and size to the table and can play. I believe that their presence will push the returning players to a better level, and if not, the ...

Except NO it is not one of the top places to do business, and despite what you read in the T-P it is, for my line of work, one of the worst places in the country to do...

Re: 2013 Game by Game Predictions

I just can't see this team beating Cuse in the C Dome on the road, ECU, Tulsa or a Rice team that returns a ton of starters. That's four losses and I can see a split between La Tech or ULM and W's the rest of the way to get to 7-5. I know Tech has lost a ton of starters + the coach, what are people ...

Re: Pilicans Evans Deal

The moves that have been made in the last week have been great for the Pelicans. Noel has bust written all over him and he has a very "questionable" that hangs around him. Vazquez is way overrated, he's a serviceable backup point guard, but if you notice he can't guard anyone and in the 4...

What if she just is persistent as all hell, I can guarantee it would result in something if she knows how to do her job. If it does not, she goes to the bosses and lays out her efforts, then the bosses turn to TU and ask how they will not continue to provide exposure unless the university begins to...

Re: Pilicans Evans Deal

I understand that they had to unload Vasquez and Lopez but why do for what amounts to a free agent? What am I missing here.... I believe that they needed to open up some salary cap space. Precisely, so deal Vasguez to someone else and then sign Evans. I guess they wanted to guarantee Evans would co...

I don't think it is negative to continually push the admin to go on record regarding the actual logistics for Yulman and how the OCS + Devlin fit into their strategy to at least get a future look from the B12 and/or ACC. Athlete village, majors, JUCOs, Bball transfers etc. I would say that would be...

Re: Are Coders Worth It? Shows how badly Cowen blew it w/ Co

All the more importance to find a President that is from the region or at the very least familiar with the region and supportive of the region. There could be an argument made that most of Cowen's decisions have shown either a disdain for Southeast Louisiana or a feeling of superiority to Southeast...

Re: Tulane increases tuition again, up to $58,930/year

Agreed. I doubt Duke and Vanderbilt get more than 15-20 percent of students from in-state. I do think Tulane could increase the percentage of La. freshmen from ~15% to 25 or so over a period of, say, 5 years. Did some digging: Tulane: 12.7% LA Vandy: 12.1% TN Duke: 11% NC Dam we are way behind thos...

Re: Tulane increases tuition again, up to $58,930/year

I would rather see Tulane make a strong effort to bring in and educate more Louisiana students in Louisiana related fields at an affordable rate than the service project. The way you build a bond with the local community is to have more citizens in that community have degrees from your University a...

Re: Are Coders Worth It? Shows how badly Cowen blew it w/ Co

If your goal in life is to build websites for people or code, power to ya. Not my thang. Computer Science wasn't the only program that they discontinued. Then there's the argument that any program in a particular engineering discipline needs to be offered as among the whole set of the major enginee...

Re: New President

I was thinking that the next president must have significant experience with running a university owned medical program + university hospitals/clinics. I believe over half of TU's operating budget is dedicated to our medical assets and they are under-performing. I would love to see a list of school...

Re: The American removed from ESPN list of blogs

its just a big deal in terms of perception and bias. I agree but I have a hard time believing espn would avoid a profitable venture. The more I look at our recent history from various perspectives, the more I realize how TU didn't deserve this invitation and it may have saved our athletic program. ...

If, for 2014, you realized that Tulane had enough cash to do only one of the following, what would you do? 1) Re-activate the three engineering programs not already reactivated (civil, electrical, mechanical) OR 2) Offer athletic-friendly majors (recreation & sports management - managed by Free...

Kind of foolish seeing how the AAC has a contract with ESPN. Folks should complain but let's be honest we are not premier right now.
