Re: Big XII Expansion
I am talking intra-conference competitiveness. There is no consistent Ohio State-Purdue or Oklahoma-Kansas situation in the AAC. That's part of what makes the SEC and ACC fun to watch; anyone is capable of beating anyone else. Some teams might have up or down years but there is no dominance by 1 or...

Re: Lindsey Scott commits to LSU
If it is determined that he is unlikely to start next season or the season after, he will probably at least consider leaving. It wouldn't make sense to stay at the point.

Re: Big XII Expansion
The conference (AAC) rivals the SEC and ACC in competitiveness and is better than the rest. Any AAC team can beat any other on a given day and few conferences can say that. Maybe few saw the Houston-Tulsa game, but those who did, will never forget it. They need more consistent wins against P5's to ...

Yep - Lindsay would have been a great add and he could have possibly led Tulane to a great season.

Re: Big XII Expansion
I agree with Win on this one. 1. More teams - Is there anyone here convinced that networks would pay a lot more for an expanded AAC that doesn't include Boise State/BYU, and, on that note, is there anyone here convinced that Boise State (w/deal that benefits it over its conference mates and provides...

Re: Line Opens Tulsa 10 pts. > Wave – The Spread Thread
Tulane has scored more than 16 pts against FBS teams during 4 quarter regulation only once this year (@UMass), and, if Tulane's D is as good as some people make it out to be, the Under could be a good play. Personally, I want no part of it.RobertM320 wrote:Over for sure

Re: Big XII Expansion
You're still missing the point. ESPN is NOT going to be the major player in a few years. When Netflix, Amazon, Twitter and other OTT media go looking for live content, they'll be the ones calling the shots, not ESPN or FOX. There's only so much content to go around, and if you want part of it, you'...

Re: Wave loses 24-14
I totally thought they were redshirt sophomores when they're seniors. Dain it's going to be tough losing them two. Given that Tulane is starting quite a few Redshirt Juniors, Seniors, and Redshirt Seniors, the roster will look pretty different next year but we won't know how different until we find...

Re: Line Opens Tulsa 10 pts. > Wave – The Spread Thread
Considering that Tulsa was a poorly timed fumble away from either beating or forcing overtime with Houston, and, considering that Tulane is playing @Tulsa, smart money would be wise to stay away from this one.

Re: Wave loses 24-14
I would like to see us use Lazedrick more especially early in the game. He's finally healthy and has run really well. Use him to pound them down early plus he'll likely get a big gainer or two. Hilliard is not playing as well as usual and that's likely due to Rounds and Thompson having to miss prac...

Re: Big XII Expansion
Yeah. The AAC could quadruple its TV only money in its next contract and it won't come close to $15M per team in tv money. Not only that, but the AAC this season is much weaker than it was last season, as evidenced by all of the OOC losses - only Houston and Cincinnati are currently undefeated OOC a...

Re: Big XII Expansion
Wyoming beat Air Force, so Air Force would have to run the table only to put them in the same place Houston or Navy is. If AFA wins out, that means they beat Boise State, which knocks Boise out since they're in the same division and Boise wouldn't be able to win the conference. I still think Housto...

Re: Big XII Expansion
I agree with Ruski. 1. The AAC went 3-12 against OOC FBS teams that currently have winning records, and, if one would like to remove the ranked teams, the AAC went 3-6 against FBS teams with winning records that aren't currently ranked. 2. Houston, which was a lock for the New Years Six G5 slot and ...

Re: Big XII Expansion
What MBA said. If someone says, "If the AAC needs to win more games against top flight competition...", they don't mean conference games, and, by signaling "The AAC", it's obvious they aren't referring to conference games where the AAC wins either way. It's difficult to attempt t...

Re: Big XII Expansion
Another garbage post designed to paint the absolute worst picture possible. 1) The AAC was in the Peach Bowl 10 months ago. 2) AAC ratings are up compared to peer conferences, and gaining fast (and people are continuing to pretend like we didn't out-rate a B12 game head to head) 3) An AAC team won ...

I don't know what you mean the Memphis v Temple game had no competition. The Indians-Red Sox playoff game and the Thursday night NFL game were pretty stout competition. The SMU-Tulsa game was up against an epic Cubs-Giants (1-0) playoff game at Wrigley as well as other playoff games. You could have...

Re: Big XII Expansion
It's good to see that the AAC is generally considered to be strong. However, if the AAC doesn't: 1. Land the G5 New Years Six bowl slot 2. Increase viewership ratings for AAC conference games 3. Win more games against top flight competition it won't matter how good we are when it comes to renegotiat...
