Re: Memphis GameDay Thread

All good points. It becomes clearer each year that Tulane administration has no commitment to athletics. That’s BS! There’s no indication that’s the case with The Board, Fitts or Dannen. More money is being pumped into Football than ever. We have Junior College players. Academics aren’t holding us ...

Re: Memphis GameDay Thread

It's good that that is finally over, but, because no one realistically expected this to be a win for Tulane, it does not change much.

Re: Memphis GameDay Thread

We stink. Once again, Lucy pulled the ball away. Every fall we think it's going to be different. Then the ground comes up really fast and reality hits hard. We stink. And, of course, I'll be watching again next game for some reason God only knows. Bowl eligibility is still on the table even with a ...

28-0 and we are not halfway through the 2nd quarter and Tulane has yet to complete a pass.

Tulane has 23 yds of total offense and Memphis has 381.

That's unfortunate, as rain has previously slowed down Memphis (Memphis v. ULM).

Re: CFP Question

But the G5 does have some leverage. In order to make a change, they need the G5 votes. How long before a conference like the B12 gets tired of missing out on a spot in 4 of 5 seasons, or a Penn State goes 12-1 and gets left out two or three seasons in row? At some point these schools and conference...

Re: CFP Question

Thank you, D. That was my question. Is it possible that enough schools end up with legitimate gripes about being left out that it reopens the issue of increasing to eight. If that does happen, can the G5 get a seat at the table? Is it possible the P5 will eventually want to expand? Of course, but i...

Re: CFP Question

So they put Alabama in. Can they really leave an undefeated Georgia out? And hard to argue with a 12-1 ND and an undefeated Penn State. So lets say you go with undefeated GA and Penn St and one-loss ALA and ND. So where does that leave undefeated TCU, an undefeated Miami, and one loss Ohio State an...

Re: CFP Question

Isn't that also why the CFP have a committee of members who evaluate situations like you're describing i.e.; bama losing to GA etc? I thought the committee was supposed to evaluate all the teams and then select 4 of the top teams to play in the CFP. Also, remember, Ohio St. snuck into the CFP last ...

Re: Line Opens Memphis 10.5 pts. > Tulane – The Spread Thread

Tulane's comeback likely played a big role in this spread being so low. Personally, I would be reluctant to back Tulane on the road with what happened with FIU.

Re: Lindsey Scott commits to LSU now transferring to EMCC

I'm not saying whether or not this is true, but I was recently told from someone that should know that Baylor is trying hard to recruit Lindsay Scott. It would be great if Tulane gets him, but, even if Tulane does get him, it will not have been easy. Do we have any knowledge for sure that Tulane is...

Re: FIU wins 23-10

Tulane's Secondary was suppose to be the Highlight of the D...seems like everyone can throw on it....whaaa happened ? They rarely see passes in practice. They are always defending the run. So come game time they are not as prepared to defend against it. When we had a pass oriented offense our pass ...

Re: FIU wins 23-10

I can't believe how man are STILL complaining that this team/offense runs too much. The starting QB just finished a game 5 of 16 for 36 yds passing. Maybe, just maybe, Coach Fritz and Coach Ruse are not real comfortable opening up a passing attack yet in this program. We have a lot of talent at RB ...

Re: USF Game Thread

USF has allowed 2.45 yards per rush and allows 77.8 rush yards per game, which places it in the top 5 of FBS in those metrics. Since it has not played a rush heavy team like Tulane yet, it will be interesting to see how effective Tulane's offense will be against it given it's performances against th...

Re: FIU wins 23-10

What's really interesting is that Tulane and FIU roughly had the same amount of yards per carry - Tulane averaged 5.1 yards per carry and FIU averaged 5.0 yards per carry. Given that the rushing output was roughly the same on a per rush basis, it may have made sense for Tulane to attempt to mix in m...

Re: FIU wins 23-10

Even with the standings are what they are now, Tulane finishing outside of the bottom of the AAC West seems extremely unlikely, and, more importantly, Tulane's bowl hopes are on life support. It's true that Tulane can still pull out 6 wins, but, if a few of the weaker remaining opponents can replic...

Re: Almost nothing has changed

Well, Tulane has fallen out of all of the bowl projections, and, while Tulane could certain still pull out six wins, it’s possible that not only will it not do that, it’s possible that Tulane will still finish at the bottom of the AAC West. After the results of Saturday, Tulsa is only one game behin...

At this point, Tulane fans shouldn't jump on the bandwagon of turning a corner until Tulane covers a 2+ score spread on the road against an opponent with a winning record entering the game.
