Re: Ron Hunter

Houston drummed us 85 - 50 @ Fogelman Houston drummed Hunter 84 - 55 on a neutral court . It would appear Hunter has not recruited up to what it is going to take to be respectable in the AAC , let alone dominant . If the standard is find an upcoming coach who has been recruiting AAC level talent or...

Re: Loyola wins both men’s and women’s basketball conference championships!

Also, the men’s team had to beat #5. Stillman to reach the conference finals.

The women’s team has won back to back conference titles.

Willy Fritz should take this job at Kansas, he'll have the AD job in his hands in a few short years.
Kansas should hire UAB’s coach.

11-4 and 2-1.
He was referring to Tulsa, Robert, not Tulane. Tulsa is 10-5 overall, 3-0 in AAC play.

Re: Tulane whips Temple 85-75

Ranks close to Conroy’s win at Cincinnati.. For f sakes Sorry for the reach. Got excited. Ed’s win much bigger. I agree, on its face, the Cincy win under Conroy was the bigger win, but that game played out much like “upset in the making” whereas, quite simply, this game played out like Tulane was s...

Re: Tulane whips Temple 85-75

The fans at Temple are restless. Here's a comment from the Enquirer: Make no mistake, Tulane stinks. Don't be fooled by their record. Just look at their schedule and who they beat. If Temple can't beat Tulane, how in the world are they going to compete with Wichita State, Cincy, SMU, Houston, or UC...

Re: Temple Game Thread

We shoot 19 of 20 free throws. Think Dunleavey emphasizes this in practice? Remember 2 years ago when we couldn't shoot 50% from the line? Blake Paul has become more important to the team than Sehic. Can't believe I just said that. First win over Temple in over 20 years! Agreed. Hit a couple of nic...

Re: Tulane beats Alcorn St. 81-65

Really hope to see less of Frazier's three pointers. I know he is supposed to be improved but I think he will revert back to form as a below average outside shooter. I don’t know the stat now, but before the GA State game he was shooting above 50% from three point land. I say give him the green lig...

Re: SMU Gameday Thread

First off he scored. However I have a problem running the ball with nine seconds left in the game. You save the run for the last play of the game if necessary. I would’ve thrown a rollout pass with a run option on that particular play. Somehow Tulane always finds a way to lose. I don’t think it was...

Re: Baby Isla helps Wave whip Houston 20-17

Not to be a party pooper or anything, but its possible that there will be more bowl-eligible teams than spots. What would be the odds that an AAC team would get a slot before a 6-6 CUSA or Sunbelt team? Would hate to see us be 6-6 and be the odd man out. I read a few years ago that the NOLA Bowl ha...

Re: Houston GameDay Thread

Huge win. Got to give Greenies credit for gutting out this big win. Defense gets big credit for repeatedly getting it done when needed. Puts meaning into next week’s game against SMU. Ponies love to pass. Our secondary will largely determine what happens next week. I don’t think SMU can stop our gr...

Including the exhibitions Tulane has played four games and scored at least 80 points in each of them. That’s imprressive, regardless of who you are playing. Tulane shot above 50% in the two regular season match-ups. Tulane, in its second year with Coach Mike Dunleavy are making shots that the were m...

In the end, it don’t matter if it is an LSU loss, or if they had all their starters, or whatever. What matters is that Tulane beat LSU by double digits.

Doesn’t count
Well, that leads to a follow-up question. Was LSU playing their starters or were they treating this like the Saints treat pre-season games?

Re: Mike Leach says CFB should have a real playoff, not 4 teams

My playoff proposal. Sixteen teams. No selection committee. Ban divisions. Conferences have to choose their two best teams to play in conference championship games. P5 champions automatically in. G4 conference champions conditional bid: no more than two losses. American champion automatically in if ...
