Didn't know Brown had this in him. Would have been a lot scarier last year if we got this kind of production from Brown or Dehartwinwave wrote:France is on fire. Brown is finally hitting like we hoped. Hope his shoulder holds up.

Re: UCF Series
JP France deserves a lot of credit for giving us 8 solid innings.Christian Colletti closed in the 9th. Redemption came for Grant Brown who singled in the game-winning run in the B-8 after having a grand slam taken away from him by umpire Asa Howard earlier that turned into a two-run double. The bal...

Re: UCF Series
Wave takes game 2 4-3 ....not that a lot of you seem to care. Should we? Win number 23 in the 48th game of the season doesn't move the needle. Winning the AAC regular season doesn't even do much right now because we started so poorly. Anything less than a regional appearance is a failure at Tulane....

Re: Tulane loses the ECU Series
Yet isn't our first year coach something along the lines of 19-11 in the last 30 games? Yes, the team got off to a horrible start, probably one that keeps them out of post season play. But part of it is his fault, part of it due to a significant change in coaching styles, and part of the blame has ...

Re: Tulane loses the ECU Series
I'll continue to complain as long as we suck or until I completely stop caring. When u pass up a once in a lifetime young coach who played here and was a national commodity for another guy you had better make f'n sure you get it right and you win and win soon, especially when the other guy now has ...

Re: Tulane loses the ECU Series
Not to really jump into this debate, but at least CJ and Conroy had multiple seasons to show that they were not the answer. Jewett hasn't even finished his first season yet, so it seems a little extreme for fans to call for him to be fired before he has had an opportunity to show whether or not he ...

Re: Tulane loses the ECU Series
Didn't we go through this a week ago? Do some of you root for Tulane to lose so that you can get the broken record out once again? No. I root for Tulane to win but we don't do too much of that. Why are you so upset about people complaining about the coach? I saw way more complaints about CJ and Con...

Re: Tulane loses the ECU Series
It's getting old, and unlike red wine, the whine coming out of the Cannizaro/Riser krewe doesn't age well. Let me ask: What's the point of YOUR post? To bring a smile to my face as I laugh at the "Charlie Brown teacher" noises that I hear when I read them? I do follow baseball (obviously)...

Re: USF Series
JP threw his best game today. He was really on. As for the bullpen when Gillies came in I told those I was with that it was a mistake. He doesn't give up the walks that our others give up but he gets hit. He's been more lucky than good. To his credit though he did get the next two. All's well that ...

Re: USF Series
Yes, but we're striking out a whole lot more than average, and a whole lot more than other home run hitting teams. There's 27 outs in a game, and we strike out roughly 4x/game more than the average D1 team and about 2.5 times/game more than the 29 teams that hit more HRs than we do. Since we've bee...

Re: USF Series
No, it's nothing like saying it's better to come in 2nd than 1st. I believe we had more strikeouts than all but 1 team in the AAC last year. We won it anyway. Nobody said it was a Jewett thing. I didn't look at every team that had more HR's than us but the 10-15 that I looked at were around the 8.5...

Re: USF Series
To argue that being one of the D1 leaders in strikeouts is acceptable is like arguing that it's better to come in second than first. It just isn't so. We strike out more (and considerably more) than the teams that hit more home runs than we do. Yes, a strikeout is rarely a double play. But it is al...

Re: USF Series
To look at it in the very simplest of viewpoints, name one POSITIVE that comes from a strikeout. I can think of several positives that can come from a groundout or fly out. There are situations where you need to put the ball in play. When there's a runner on 3rd w/ less than 2 out, I'm all for putt...

The top 10 teams in the NCAA D1 hitting home runs are: VaTech, Wake Forest, Mercer, Tennessee, Austin Peay, GaTech, James Madison, Southern Miss, Arkansas and Dallas Baptist. ALL TEN have hit at least 10 more home runs than our Green Wave. ALL TEN have fewer strikeouts, most by about 50, than our G...

Re: USF Series
Strikeouts come with the territory when you have a team that's around the top 30 in the country in HRs. Regardless, strikeouts are TOTALLY unproductive at-bats. The worst thing that a team can do at the plate. Put the ball in play and you at least have a chance. Swing and miss (or get called out) a...
