Glad to see Cairo excelling in his 2nd year, especially since he started last year a little uneven.

Re: I don't judge on wins and losses aka the UCF game

The encouraging thing was seeing the offense mix things up with their tempo. You can't change the plays, but it's nice to see them try a faster rhythm; it seemed to throw off UCF in the 2nd quarter.

Re: I don't judge on wins and losses aka the UCF game

O'leary's career ended today. We are coach killers. I wouldn't go that far. UCF is coming off a conference championship last year and a Fiesta Bowl win two years ago. They've had players picked in the NFL 1st rd those last two years as well. UCF would be dumb to let one bad season cause them to dum...

Imagine the bellyaching had any one of Lee/Badie/Veal gotten hurt in the 4th qtr with Tulane up 4tds.

Re: CJ on the "Hot Seat" for 2015

I suspect that the buyout will be reasonable, particularly if Tulane suffers through a 1 or 2 win season this year.

It's pretty evident that Tulane is in no position to be a training ground for inexperienced career position coaches during their next head coaching hire.

Re: CJ on the "Hot Seat" for 2015

I look at a program like Duke and wonder if something like that is remotely possible at Tulane. Both have had similar, multi-generations worth of futility, and Duke was actually far worse than Tulane prior to the Blue Devils hiring of Cutcliffe. Even though this may be considered a rebuilding season...

Re: CJ on the "Hot Seat" for 2015

Four seasons in and it's clear why CJ was never given an opportunity to be even an offensive coordinator, much less a head coach. I'm certain he tries hard, his players like him and he's been well received by the local high schools. But outside of landing Monroe, Smart and perhaps Badie, his recruit...

Re: Worst two game start in Tulane football history.

The team has scored an average of 12 points a game in their last 10 games dating back to 2014. Take away the 31 pt outing against UH, and it's down to 10 points a game. The CJ/Eric Price offense is plain embarrassing. I understand that the hiring of CJ was going to include a developmental period for...

Re: UNC AND THE ACC

Just idle speculation, but I assume that UNC is facing severe sanctions and perhaps a loss of their football program. I wonder if this will push the ACC to look to add a new member and if so who would be the most likely targets? Obviously they will be looking for a clean program. Tulane is probably...

Re: Tulane FB OOC schedules 2014 thru 2023

I know that downsized ambitions occur when we get killed by the Rutgers and Duke's of the world.. Duke is the model that Tulane should aspire to in every single facet, both athletically and academically. Getting trampled by them in football today is not the same as if it were to happen even five sh...

Re: Tulane FB OOC schedules 2014 thru 2023

Looks like my decision to decline renewing my season tickets was indeed a wise one...and will stretch into at least 2016.

Why is Tulane reverting back to CUSA-era scheduling? Like Nature Boy Ric Flair says, "To be THE man, you've got to beat THE man!".

Fogelman/Devlin will always be a problem...until it isn't a problem. An empty Fogelman will always be a glorified HS gym. A packed Fogelman with the students at a fever pitch is a huge home court advantage. It's not always a numbers game. Duke plays in an indoor "stadium" that seats less t...

It's either the school or the kid that's want to end the relationship. Like us, UCONN is trying to upgrade its talent. So here's a case were the school probably ran him off to make room for better talent. And then UCONN lands a 3rd-schooler: http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/128...

Re: Tulane basketball 2015 recruiting class up to #68

I thought Perry Clark did well his first few years at Tulane. He put in a lot of hours in recruiting and had a great staff. My opinion of his last years at Tulane I felt that he was lazy with his half million dollar annual salary. I saw him every day with his girl friend at Houston's on Saint Charl...

The only thing left to do is turn off the A/C in Devlin/Fogelman and reinstall aluminum bench seating in the student section, and we're good to go.

The roster above lacks experience and a face-up power forward , both of which Henson would bring. Last season Henson had a higher TS%, a higher total rebound rate and more than double the Win Shares than Jarreau. The "Box Plus/Minus" lists Jarreau at -0.1 and Henson at -0.5 which means th...

Re: Tulane basketball 2015 recruiting class up to #68

This might be the most anticipated season of Tulane basketball in nearly 20 seasons. Unreal on several fronts. The great thing about getting all of this talent is not only being genuinely competitive with the top conference opposition from a talent standpoint, but it will create tremendous competiti...
