Does anyone know who the member of the bowling team was? That individual must be related to someone with serious money.

Re: Tulane has pretty much become PCU

Tulane can't afford a good athletic program. They most certainly can. They just flushed $100M down the toilet and in the process solved nothing other than tailgating. $100M well spent would certainly have been enough to make Tulane competitive with any program in the country. I really can't argue t...

Re: Tulane has pretty much become PCU

Tulane has severe problems, and, as you noted, the students are basically not bright enough to notice. Basically, Tulane cannot afford to take athletics and academics seriously at the same time, and as time goes on, Tulane will be less able to do either one by itself.

Tulane tuition is now at over $50,000 a year. How many middle income families can send their children there.? Only the top students at Jesuit can get full academic scholarships to Tulane. Sadly we should offer the top twenty percent of the Jesuit class along with Newman,St. Martin' Episcopal,Countr...

Re: Why can Tulane not get to the Final Four like Duke?

Duke is in a power conference. Duke has a ~$6 billion endowment. Duke has a history of being a basketball power. If Tulane had two of those three things, we would have a shot. Not really. Duke basketball wasn't a power before coach K and the endowment has nothing to do with their basketball program...

Re: Alarming Tulane statistic

In terms of recruiting locally, it is a double edged sword. Tulane, a "national" university, has a wide range of priorities, and I believe that all of us would say that they include including maximizing tuition revenue, research revenue, standardized test scores, enrollment, educational ranks, emplo...

Probably because Tulane doesn't have the money to install a spread system. I'm as disappointed as anyone, but blaming CJ for how things are at Tulane is kind of silly. ?? Spreads cost money? You cant run a pro style short yardage ball control offense with a 55 percent passer that throws more interceptions than touchdown passes. Re: US World and News Rankings. Tulane Law #50, Bus #61

It seems clear that Tulane's B-Schools' MBA program (2 year full time) is no longer a "target" business school and the fall of the business school is dangerous for Tulane. Tulane's B-School is no longer a Target because, for the third year in a row (that used actual honest data), we could not persua...

This is shocking. Cut expenses now. You do realize that the board knew this all along? I'm starting to believe that the board is the problem and not Scott or Rick specifically. I mean geez, look at how far the Freeman school has fallen (re: acceptance rate and lack of offerings), look at the cuttin...

CJ was in studio guest last night on Fourth Down on Four. He repeated that this was his best class. Said that some of the DB's will start as well as a WR or two. Many of the 17 signed will play and contribute. When asked about his QB's he said that the three are as good as any around the country. H...

Let me repeat we signed a pathetic class. Ony seven 247 Sports three star athletes versus 13 last year three stars and one four star. It seems like a lot posters have unrealistic grass is greener on the other side mentality. In terms of the grass being greener, Tulane could have the best facilities on the planet and it still wouldn't pull athletes from recogniziable P5 schools (i.e. LSU). Before anyone says, "Mack Brown could do i...

The Advocates Louisiana Super Dozen is out today. Zero Tulane recruits in theSuper Dozen or the second dozen. As of this point in time we had only one in their honorable mention. Tulane football is going no where unless it can recruit the top athletes in Louisiana. Mack Brown was able to do that wh...

Something interesting about today's two Superbowl participants. The highest ranked star coming out of high school playing in today's game is a 4 star. Neither team has a 5 star player on its roster. Tps, I would like to read more about this. Do you have a link? http://www.nola.com/saints/index.ssf/...

Re: Football Recruiting Failures...

As it stands now, Tulane's problems in recruiting are:

1. Not being in a P5 conference
2. Relatively weak Facilities
3. Lack of recent history of winning

As a side note, ESPN rates the 2015 class higher than the 2014 class in terms of the percentage of commits that have at least 3 stars.

http://tulane.edu/tef/upload/Annual-Report-2014.pdf While we can sit around and circle jerk about the past, I think it would be more productive to look at future, and that document puts some things in perspective. For example, the med school is not sustainable as the endowment is set up now, as 31% ...

This recruiting class really isn't as bad as some posters are making it out to be, and, if the only criticism one can lobby at Tulane are the recruiting rankings, then that's really not enough as there is clear bias against some schools and there is also a lack of updating the stars/actual number o...
