Re: 2019 Schedule

I would hope a program can overcome the loss of an assistant coach 6.5 months before the season starts. Just like Urban Meyer's suspension, this will be a non factor when we line up and play in late August. Possibly, but losing a DC or OC 6.5 months before a season starts can be a big deal, especia...

Re: 2019 Schedule

I would never wish ill or celebrate unfortunate circumstances for any person, but FIU's DC just resigned to take care of non-disclosed family issues. Since the issues were not revealed, there is not much to say bout them from that front. However, an unexpected turnover on defensive coaching staff co...

Re: 2019 Bill C’s S&P Tulane football ranking & league projections

He is decently well respected. The rankings of teams don’t take into account his personal feelings about teams, it’s just his algorithm. He is always tweaking the algorithm to make it more accurate. If you click on the article he breaks it all down. It does take into account 5 year history . . . Wh...

winwave...ya ever been to StarkVegas, Stillwater, Norman, Lubbock, Waco, Oxford, Fayetteville ? Yeah it's a little complicated. Boise State is the only G5 that has consistently signed classes in the 50s and 60s since 2011, and part of the reason for that has been its consistent success, however, ev...

Re: NSD 2019

First off your claim of second best ever comes with a big asterisk. It's second best in the 247 ratings era. I have been following Tulane for 6 decades. So it's not the second best ever. Also I go by Rivals where it's the third best in the rankings era. Not a big difference but just pointing it out...

Re: NSD 2019

Hell even being third is bad. That said I am hopeful that things will change next year. Getting Hall really gives me optimism. Timing is everything and he's getting McCleskey who is going to be 1st team all AAC and if Hall is who we think he is he may make some All-American teams. McCleskey will ma...

Looks like we’re switching back to a pro offense. Tulane will have a pro style offense he hoped could prepare him during his two remaining seasons of college eligibility. https://www.nola.com/tulane/2019/02/what-did-tulane-graduate-transfer-lineman-ben-knutson-like-about-visit-new-coaches.html I ce...

Texas, Texas A&M, Arkansas and Michigan all wanted to camp in Louisiana at one school or another. Why would Tulane turn down the opportunity to partner with any of them for the benefit of LSU?

Re: Tulane/LSU FB Camp on May 26, 2019

Fritz still has not been able to consistently put away 6-6 or worse and/or OOC G5 teams, and, until that occurs, it's difficult to be overly optimistic that Tulane is going to have a game changing season. At this exact moment, I'm not confident that Tulane would be perfect against FIU, @Army, @SMU,...

Re: Tulane/LSU FB Camp on May 26, 2019

You think that hosting a talent evaluation camp with (fill in the blank Big 12 school), will reduce LSU's relative monopoly in Louisiana? The strategy of recruiting TX, MS, TN, AL, FL GA is brilliant. Lousiana recruits have been stained with an indelible perception of Tulane's haplessness in footba...

Re: Tulane/LSU FB Camp on May 26, 2019

Meh. LSU. If a kid wants to go to LSU, and vice versa, 70 miles doesn't make any difference. Let's face it, we're never getting back into the SEC. So why not host this with Texas or someone from the Big12? Let them see the value of Tulane, first by recruiting talent in the SEC's backyard at a camp ...

Re: Tulane/LSU FB Camp on May 26, 2019

We did this last summer and I thought it got us on the radar for recruits that LSU wasn't going after. Then our class only had a few in-state recruits, so I don't know how successful it was last year. What do others think? This. Unless Tulane is going to aim for 75% Louisiana players, it would prob...

Bryant has already left Clemson looking to make a splash . He certainly would here .

Hurt graduates in a few dzys . He would certainly be a welcome grad transfer here .

Willie knows he needs to speak with both .
Hurts isn't choosing Tulane over Oklahoma, Miami, TCU, or Maryland.

Re: All 130 FBS teams’ chances if they had to play North Dakota State, categorized

Good point. Actually the top 4 G5 teams could probably compete with the top 5-25 P5. Thus there's a few G5 teams in the top 25. But the media bias to the P5 really hurts the G5. I'm just amazed that there were 6 non-P5s in the final AP top 25. If it wasn't P5 bias, there should easily be 6 non-P5s ...

Re: UCF GOFUNDME Site to Investgate SEC

The approach that should be taken is for G5 teams to just stop scheduling P5s until the P5s provide access. That would be monumental and could potentially bring real change, as P5s aren't going to schedule 12 P5s in the regular season.

What are the real alternatives here? Hypothetical - Attorneys representing the G5 sue and have the CFP expanded to require the conference champion of all FBS conferences (and exclude Notre Dame by implication). What happens next? The P5 (and Notre Dame) break off and build their own division (1AA) w...

Re: AAC Bowl Game Performance

The issue is that coaching is always in flux in the AAC, and that plays a role in theses losses: 1. Memphis lost its OC prior to the bowl with its DC annoucing before the bowl that he was leaving. 2. USF lost its OC prior to the bowl. 3. Temple lost its HC and staff before the bowl. 4. Houston has i...

+1,000. This selective GOR issue (UCF, USF, Cincy, Memphis) is just the tip of the iceberg. I suspect we will see similar delineation between schools in other conferences, including the P5. In the end it won’t be Aresco that decides, it will be ESPN and other outlets. These same animal spirits will...

Re: New AAC TV deal

This was in the other article: "The conference is asking schools to sign a grant-of-rights agreement that theoretically would lock them into the conference for the duration of the next media rights deal." That again says that all schools are being asked to sign GOR's. Let me ask: What benefit does ...
