Re: Florida Atlantic -3....

FAU, like Tulsa last week, has done really nothing all season, and yet they are favored. And they can't even use the history factor. Doc...U may want to look at their schedule, they played ECU, Marshall, Rice, Auburn, Middle Tennessee...except for the Auburn game, all games were very competitive, c...

Re: Tulane Football Head Coach Curtis Johnson

We also cant afford a re-start if CJ's success draws interest. If we can, we need to include a hefty buy-out to prevent him from leaving. This extension should also be written with a nod that it could be torn up and the salary raised significantly should he get us to a "payday" bowl game in the year...

Re: Tulane Football Head Coach Curtis Johnson

Time to start talks about an extension and raise for CJ AND THE ASSISTANTS. Make it clear that we appreciate what he's doing, and that similar results next year will likewise be rewarded. This first extension/raise need not be a doubling in salaries, but needs to be significant. There's still a whol...

I hope this crowd shuts up the stadium idiots. 2 week marketing blitz and MAYBE 15,000 total. Nothing will ever Shutup the stadium idiots. If in two years we are 9-1 and drawing 18k in a 28k stadium for a big divisional game, they will say we would have 40k if Tulane didn't "signal to the market th...

Re: Kushner: Tulane to host its largest non-sec crowd since

20,000 ACTUAL BODIES would be a HUGE uptick for this team, and the program. My bet is we're closer to 15k actual, but it remains to be seen.

Either way, a victory is more important this week than turnstyle count.

Re: Tulane Football Head Coach Curtis Johnson

I think CJ is a better coach than Bowden. No. Not even close. Not yet. So you guys are all racists by dismissing Devin Powell because he's black, and for not willing to compare CJ against Bowden because he's black. Huh? Really? Cowen is white, and he is awful. So I guess I'm racist against whites. ...

Re: New LB

ND has had top 10 recruiting classes in 4 of the past 5 years, yet they're a long way from competing for the mythical "National Championship" as we witnessed when 'Bama handed them their buttocks last January. The problem with the recruiting rankings is that they focus on who the offers are coming ...

Re: Tulsa Score Prediction Thread

Devin Powell steps up and shows that he can lead this team with the blinders off. Kelly and Darkwa combine for 175 yards rushing. Tulane scores 24 first half points and holds on for a 30-24 victory.

Re: Tulane Football Head Coach Curtis Johnson

I totally agree with CJ that we're not there yet. This team has had a lot of breaks go there way, including 2 or 3 opposing QB injuries, HUGE turnovers that became 14 pt swings, and a missed Game Winning field goal from 42 yards at the end of regulation by the ECU kicker. It just shows what a fine l...

Re: ULL leads Sun Belt FB (10/22/2013)

I watched parts of the ULL game last night and have to say they're impressive. Not for nothing but they just beat two pretty decent SBC teams, on the road by a combined score of 60-27. If this becomes our post season opponent, they best not be taken lightly.

Re: Tulsa Game Thread

I really hope it's Tulane getting off to a fast start this time, rather than Tulsa. We need points, with at least two touchdowns, on 4 of our first 6 possessions. Powell (if Nick can't go) will have his confidence level sky high with a good start on top of his dazzling OT performance last week. Tuls...

Re: TU vs. LSU

I, personally, would hate to have what could be a great season crushed by losing pretty badly to LSU in a bowl game We'd match up better than you think. LSU has a weak defense and a good offense. We have a good defense and a weak offense. Special teams could decide that one. Except that pur best de...

Re: Tulane taking over the city!

With two losses and virtually no chance of finishing in the top 25, this doesn't feel at all like 1998 to me. 1998 team was dominant. And it was against a MUCH better schedule. This is a team that's growing, that's learning how to win, but far from dominating. Yes, the D is better than it's been in ...

Re: Stadium Capacity

Perhaps this is a better illustration as to why the correct stadium capacity is the answer to "what gets us an invite to the ACC/Big 12?" rather than how many tickets can we sell over the next few seasons?" You think you have the right answer but that's only because you don't understand what the ri...

Re: Tulsa Game Thread

DfromCT, if our d comes out playing well from the start, this game could get out of reach quickly for Tulsa. Our offense should be able to move the ball on the ground and through the air on Tulsa. We have faced tougher defenses this season. Powell or Montana should be able to move the ball. I don't...

AND let's not forget: We're building a house that far exceeds current demand. If (and this is the big IF of the thread) we ever outgrow this house, IT WILL BE THE BEST PROBLEM TO HAVE because it means we've come light years from where we were when ground was broken for the OCS. Demand is miniscule c...

Re: Tulsa Game Thread

This Tulsa team still has enough weapons to give us fits. They've dominated us in every phase of the game since joining CUSA, and their average margin of victory over Tulane is 31 pts. This is not a game to take for granted, and with Green at QB, and Watts at RB, they're going to pose a serious test...

Whatever we have to build to get into the Big 12, we should be building it now! 2019 is way too late. What we have to build, and it's much more important than a stadium, is a fan base. Currently there's no fan base that has ANY interest to the Big 12, or any conference. The AAC threw us a life-rope...

Re: Stadium Capacity

2500 was the actual # of bodies at Tulane's biggest game in 10 years. I wish I was wrong on this, but there's no way in hell Tulane will have more demand than supply for all home games at a 25k-30k stadium in the next two or three years. We're a LONG LONG LONG way from being a top 25 program. Your ...

Re: Stadium Capacity

What a great fantasy. Fantasy being the key word. A program with no following and hasn't had a winning season in a decade had zero appeal to a Big 12 or ACC. There's many better positioned universities way ahead in the line. IF (and again that's a HUGE IF) we ever get to the point of having higher ...

Re: Stadium Capacity

This just goes to show how stupid this whole thing is. Dickson's comments suggest that Benson keeps the parking and concessions revenue and that keeping that revenue (plus whatever other revenue streams) would net Tulane $6M/year. Let's take a step back and imagine a scenario where Tom Benson isn't...
