Re: AAC Attempts at Power Status

Directly, winning has little to do with getting into the "P Club". The primary requirement for an individual school getting into a P conference is it's ability to generate revenue--from filling at least 40,000 seats each weekend, to attracting hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of TV viewers. I...

Re: Football Recruiting -- 2019

"The Coaches were showing me some love" That's what recruiting has become. It really is nauseating the mentality of kids these days. And if this kid is healthy to have a breakout senior year we know there will be some P5 offers and then the tweet, " I am blessed to receive an offer from Missouri, K...

Re: WWL & Kristian Garic

TulaneStudentSection beat me to it. I can't imagine Gayle Benson, a sitting TU Board member, would keep a clown like that on the list for the Saints radio broadcast if she knew about his love for splashing around in the pigpen. And he's too stupid to know that he just sunk himself, with the Saints.

Re: Tulane Football Camp May 27th

I agree with all of what y'all are saying. Just sucks when our state of affairs is so bad that hosting a camp with a former rival is the best way to get better players on our campus. My hate for LSU clearly outweighs most rational thoughts... You're not alone in feeling that way. I'd bet a majority...

https://twitter.com/jmontalbano33/status/999842915395530754 Wow And I wouldn't be surprised if Mr. Montalbano isn't getting a lot of back channeling from some of the current players. If Dannen doesn't act soon, he may find himself wrestling with an embarrassing team revolt. Anybody want to set an o...

Re: AAC Baseball Tourney Thread

The longer losing is tolerated the less desirable this job becomes. If candidates believe that the administration doesn’t care about the success of the baseball program you are not going to attract a decent candidate. Dannen has a serious decision to make regarding the 54 year step backwards we hav...

Re: Fritz Contract extension to 2023

I don't think even Fritz can turn the Kansas football program around, in today's world. That said, Fritz might be a good fit for Kansas, because whoever they hire probably won't ever be a head coach again. In Willie's case, if he can get a fat 5 to 7 year guaranteed contract from Kansas, that might...

Re: AAC Baseball Tourney Thread

We stranded too many runners. The announcers summed it up well. Batting with runners on base, ECU was 5 for 8, Tulane was 2 for 11. Batting with runners in scoring position, ECU was 3 for 6, Tulane was 0-9. And we lose by 1. Spoon and Roper are the only reasons we were in the game. Many of the Tulan...

Re: Fritz Contract extension to 2023

Need to know the buyout amount. We need to know both buy out amounts. Perhaps this extension will give us a big pay day if Willie does get hijacked. I'm still confident that Fritz can and will turn our football program around--this is all feeling like a repeat of the Larry Smith era. I think our lo...

Re: Fritz Contract extension to 2023

I guess Dannen needs a history lesson. Bennie Ellender got a 10 year extension once and was fired two years later. Tulane was on the hook for 8 years. Funny thing was Tulane kept sending him a check for years after he was paid off. No one at Tulane thought to investigate. True story. Only at Tulane...

Re: Kansas fires it’s AD

This could get hairy for Tulane and Willie Fritz. As Golfnut points out, it's unlikely that the new AD hires a coach that's in his mid 50's, runs a gimmicky offense, and hasn't won at the AAC level (yet.). Then again, I doubt the new AD fires the football coach between now and the start of the seas...

Re: 31 losses (33 when TU gets eliminated)

Has the baseball record ever been this bad? Have our pants and socks ever looked more ridiculous? Have we ever had a more clueless head coach? If TJ is inflicted on the Tulane Nation next year, it won't be any better. In fact, it could get worse, as word of his Capt. Quig style spreads among player...

The 2017 team was a VETERAN, UPPERCLASSMAN DOMINATED team that had been to the NCAA tournament two years in a row. To suggest it was a lousy team that lacked talent belies the facts that you went to the games the two years prior and all of 2017. This coaching staff managed to get about as little ou...

I hate to burst anyone’s bubble but TD is in no way getting rid of Jewett As a matter of fact he thinks the guy hung the moon and doesn’t understand why the fans are so hard on him. Sad to see Tulane baseball this bad. We haven’t had back to back losing regular seasons since 1963&64. Pitiful.
And if we don't see a completely new coaching staff, we'll see a TJ Hat Trick next year.

Zombie, you don't get my point: That Cowen prevented us from even being in consideration because he attacked the system and allowed that teams to stink. It would have been a mockery of the P6/P5 system to invite Tulane, so we weren't even considered. And I know that the discussion with the Big 12 w...

Had Cowen had us in any kind of shape at all, which he didnt, whose to say that the Big 12 might not have expanded to twelve schools, instead of to ten with TCU and West Va. If Cowen hadn’t turned us into a dumpster fire, perhaps we would have got in along with UH. But by then Cowen had turned us in...
