Re: USNWR

Zombie, you don't get my point: That Cowen prevented us from even being in consideration because he attacked the system and allowed that teams to stink. It would have been a mockery of the P6/P5 system to invite Tulane, so we weren't even considered. And I know that the discussion with the Big 12 w...

Re: USNWR

Had Cowen had us in any kind of shape at all, which he didnt, whose to say that the Big 12 might not have expanded to twelve schools, instead of to ten with TCU and West Va. If Cowen hadn’t turned us into a dumpster fire, perhaps we would have got in along with UH. But by then Cowen had turned us in...

Re: Tulane loses to LSU 10-4

Again Tulane's worst enemy is Tulane.
That's been the case for almost 70 years now and unfortunately it looks like it always will be .
Sad but true.
And because of it, the lost opportunities and financial benefits have been huge over those 70 years.

Re: USNWR

I blame him for sending repeated signals that we didn't want to compete at the highest levels. He took on the BCS and bad mouthed the power conferences. It was a blatant mis-read of the tea leaves and at a critical time in the college athletics industry. With the Big 12, WVU makes no sense even tod...

Talk about thread drift! I fixed that. Thank you, TPS. It is amazing how often athletics and academics are somehow conflated on this forum? http://gotula.net/images/smilies/green/icon_thumbs1.gif AMEN! Re: Tulane loses to LSU 10-4

It wasn't an excuse. Someone posted that this isn't a great LSU team. They may not be great but they are going to be damn good. It's like you saying Ole Miss wasn't any good. It's just trying to pile on what's already there. There's no need for it. It's agenda driven over the butt hurt you have over...

Re: USNWR

I thought we’d get swept so winning one kept us from going winless for the week. Beat LSU and I’ll be happy again. See how well conditioned we are for LBS. We expect nothing (no way we win any games this series) and when we win one game and we can comfort ourselves and say, we did better than expec...

Re: Long Beach State Series

If only David Pierce didn't leave the cupboard bare; if only Tulane could compete for players with better financial aid; if only we could recruit junior college kids; if only we had better baseball facilities. I'm sure the demise of Tulane baseball over the last two years has nothing to do with the...

Re: Grade Troy Dannen on his job to date at Tulane

I think grading TD on his coaching decisions is tough at this point as he's appeared to be doing a lot of things right but they haven't panned out as hoped or expected. If you look at what he's done in the three majors it's hard to find a lot of fault in his logic. But I believe he'll have some tou...

Re: USM Blows Tulane Out 12-3

How many years is Jewitt's contract? We need to let the season play out but if the season turns into an unqualified disaster we do have Matt Riser right across the lake. And, I hope we haven't burned any bridges with Riser the way we did for football with both Lindy Infante and RichRod? Long Beach ...

Re: USM Blows Tulane Out 12-3

Sounds pretty bleak. Starting pitching failed, again; bullpen failed, again; hitting a disappointment, again. But we have to stay focused on what's important--did their pants and socks all match? We have to think like Jewett in order to evaluate how the season is going. At the end of the season, go ...

Re: Tulane loses 8-7 to UNO

Ya'll need to quit worrying about pitching, hitting and winning games. Our pants and socks all look nice and uniform. Give Jewett a couple more years, and we'll be ready to help with the Cannizaro resurrection--which should be ready to begin about then.

Re: Cincy Wipes Out The Wave 78-49

Attendance was 2,824. Both Devlin and the crowd looked good on TV. Yes. But it sounded quiet. I found it interesting and positive that we are capable of pulling 2800 to see a bad team play a good one. That's kind of new. There must be some good will building up. If Tulane had an NIT level team that...

Re: Melvin Frazier now projected 1st round pick

Why does the media keep saying Mike Dunleavy is bringing in a talented class and posters here keep saying his recruiting stinks? I don't know if it stinks or not . Research shows we beat out nc greensboro, Hofstra and Stetson for another wing and a 6-8 180 pound forward that would have suffered the...

Will Tulane ever be good in any sport ever again? Someone give me something. Lie to me. It's a legitimate question Galvez I wish I had something for you. Re: Andy Cannizaro

If we weren’t supposed to beat Wright St then we must not be favored to win more than 25 games. Winning the Horizon League doesn’t make them a good team. They have won games in the NCAA Regionals, it makes no difference what conference they are in.... The 2018 Wright State team has won 0 games. Reg...

Re: Memphis Game 2 Thread

We're the team that cannot shoot straight right now. We also still can't attack a zone defense, hence all the errant long bomb shots. We also can't get defensive rebounds because nobody on the team even attempts to block out. Lastly, we clearly prefer to play man-to-man defense, but don't have the ...

Re: ECU Game Thread

I’m not sure in the history of man that there has been a worse zone offense played than this team plays night after night. They are a bad shooting team and just keep jacking up 3s. Obviously Dunleavy has no solution or we’d have seen this 10 games ago. Recruiting shooters is only answer. Great poin...
