Re: When do we make a change at QB ?

The UAB game was far from the worst thing to happen in CFB Saturday. There are some big time programs in big time trouble. let's review the programs, which ones come to mind ? Almost the entire Big 10. Add the meltdown at UCLA , USC, Arizona, No. Carolina, maybe Texas, and the old standard Kansas.

At least we won’t have to revive the “Oh no, we might lose Fritz” thread this winter.

Re: When do we make a change at QB ?

Tulane could make a change at QB, but, honestly, what the chances that the other QBs are "better" (i.e. run threats, okay with the deep ball, etc.) given Fritz's reputation for evaluating talent? It's true that Tulane is 1-2 and Fritz's seat should be super hot, but, at the same time, those two los...

Re: Ohio St. Game Thread

Some of Fritz’s post game comments sound very much like CJ—he sounds like he doesn’t understand why we lost. The ole “we need to play better” doesn’t cut it, and suggests that this staff doesn’t have the intellectual capacity to understand why we lost. Here’s some suggestions, (1) Tulane was unprepa...

Re: When do we make a change at QB ?

Banks will be served up against OSU. After that McM should start against Memphis. If McM isnt ready, then try Ledford. I can’t see how McM couldn’t be ready since we seem to only run about five plays with Banks at QB—surely McM can handle five plays. But based on what Fritz has done so far, it may t...

Re: Ohio St Prediction Thread

A really nasty beat down, OSU 72. Tulane 10. Fritz won’t have to bench Banks, cuz Banks won’t make it through the game. McM takes over against Memphis, and never looks back.

Re: Lines Opens Ohio State 34 pts. > Tulane

Not even the greenest of goggles could get me to take the points. +1, if we only lose by 34 points, we declare “victory,” take our check, go home and get ready for Memphis. And, perhaps give McMillan a shot at QB against the Tigers? Amen. But I’ll be shocked if we only lose by 34 points. I can see ...

Re: UAB GameDay Thread

It isn’t the coaching. Can’t get the players due to academics. Recruits don’t give a damn about academics and Tulane actually thinks it helps in recruiting, time to seriously think about giving up on athletics. They are an embarrassment to the University as a whole. Never thought I would ever see t...

Re: UAB GameDay Thread

Watching TCU/OhioState. Remember when we had a leader of TU athletics say”we are tied to the hip with TCU”? Does a bad personality create psychosis or delusional thinking? No wonder we are a crappy as we are. We look like we run with crutches compared to them. And our offense is the model T of coll...

Re: UAB GameDay Thread

This is seems pretty easy: our o line was over matched (again) their run game dominated our o line, their play calling and passing game were superior. Jonathan banks has terrible decision making instincts- literally horrible. He would see one guy rushing him, roll out and take the sack instead of t...

First we ought to bench them because they can't play worth a damn.

Re: UAB GameDay Thread

That UAB team stunk. Tulane is worse. I highly recommend giving up the fight. It will be a productive choice. Tulane won't give up the fight because if they did they would lose a majority of the alums that currently provide financial backing to the university. Yes, we have many alums who don't care...

Re: UAB GameDay Thread

Banks had a big second half, getting his QB rating up to 68.75 He had a 10.41 rating at half--and Fritz stayed with him--unbelievable. But,,, but.... according to some of our posters it's the Oline's fault and Banks is a great QB. Banks can't make the correct read on the option, he doesn't have a p...

Re: UAB GameDay Thread

Although I don't think Banks deserves to see the field again this year, I would go ahead and throw him to the wolves in Columbus. It would be very unfair to throw McMillan in against the Buckeyes. After the Columbus beat down is behind us, we should only see McMillan at QB. If McM isn't ready, then ...

Re: UAB GameDay Thread

This is starting to remind me of the "Buffet Bob" Toledo Era where each year the Army game would be the "turning point" for the season and then we would lose the Army game and the downward spiral would begin for the season. Today's play calling was very reminiscent of the Toledo era. It also evoked...

Re: UAB GameDay Thread

If Banks plays in another game, then Fritz and his staff aren't serious about the 2017 season. Banks can't see downfield, can't make decisions, can't run, and isn't an accurate passer, other than that, he's NFL material.

Re: Perfect Wave Podcast- Why Rich Rod was passed over

That's been discussed here often. What happened was that our then AD ,Sandy Barbour, had chosen RR. Sam Scelfo, Chris' brother, was the president of the Green Wave Club back then. He went to Cowen's house and convinced him to hire Chris b/c he would stay. And, Scelfo agreed to 350k a year. I...

Re: NIMBY's prepare for the opening of Yulman Stadium

Is this an agreement with the city? Or with the NIMBY's? Both? And what happens if we want to cancel or back out of the agreement? I was wondering the same thing--who exactly is the agreement with? Tulane ought present a standing offer to purchase every Audubon house, next to the stadium, at a prem...

Re: Wave beats the Wave ,loses to Wake Forest in OT 23-17

We couldn’t run the ball because our Offensive Line in the first half couldn’t block anyone. As for Banks on the read option, am I the only one who watches this offense and thinks the coordinator precalls what read he is going to make. He is either the worst read option qb ever and is making the wr...

Re: Wave beats the Wave ,loses to Wake Forest in OT 23-17

I was to mesmerized by the awful play from Banks and most our receivers to even notice what the OL was doing. The usual sack fest we see from our OL didn’t seem to be as bad. What was clear is that Banks can’t make good RPO decisions, and usually throws inaccurate passes (usually behind or over the ...

please turn on ESPN and note the "Line Splits' of the Texas Tech OL's and the natural running lanes that occur because of these splits.....also it makes the DL have to run further to get to the QB...your 'scrum' theory of OL play is "dead to me'
Great advice, Golf.👍👍👍
