Re: Tyler Judson

Another late recruiting surge by Fritz and his staff. I think Fritz has this early signing date thing figured out quite well—definitely puts pressure on recruits who are sitting on the fence. Only 25 slots—get in now or don’t get in at all. sorta like the lifeboats on the Titanic !!!! Aw yes, the T...

Re: New AAC TV deal

+1,000. This selective GOR issue (UCF, USF, Cincy, Memphis) is just the tip of the iceberg. I suspect we will see similar delineation between schools in other conferences, including the P5. In the end it won’t be Aresco that decides, it will be ESPN and other outlets. These same animal spirits will...

Re: New AAC TV deal

There is no doubt bringing in two of army/BYU/SDSU/Boise as was the original and preferred plan would help the conference from a $$ Point of view and cripple MW solidifying our position as best of g5/p6. There was an interesting paragraph that discusses that if/when the playoff expands to 8 teams a...

Re: New AAC TV deal

They get the stability of the conference. That was made clear in the articles. But again the most important thing is Aresco's response. I agree that Aresco's response would/should put an end to this conversation. But there's also the possibility going forward that EVERY D1 team ends up getting thei...

TV money across the board probably going to shrink. https://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2018/7/26/17610702/tv-money-conference-distributions I agree with this—thanks to Cowen, we have missed the financial Golden Era for college athletics. Relative revenue in total will decrease for all. That ...

Re: New AAC TV deal

Just for fun speculation: What is the minimum yearly revenue per team we would like to see from our next TV deal ? I think the question boils down to what is the next goal ? Separate from rest of G5 further ? Enough revenue to entice BYU/Boise/SDSU to join ? Enough $$ to protect our teams from havi...

What a cop out from a POS person that has been nothing but self promoting since he was named President of Tulane. What about "The Review"? How did that help Tulane Athletics, Scotty boy? What about your attack on the BCS when Tulane was in it's best position since leaving the SEC to bring Athletics...

“Decomit from a Commitment” Huh? You can’t “decomit” from a commitment. Was never a commitment. These “kids” have way too much leeway with positing “Blessed To receive my first offer” etc BS. The commiting in Sophmore and Junior HS years is also BS . Need rules no recruiting until junior year and n...

Re: Lindsey Scott to be a Tiger again :(

I wish LS the best. I have no idea if he is D1 QB material; the fact that he did not win the job at LSU or Mizzou is certainly not definitive. I am at a loss why people on this board seem to gloat over his bad fortune or wish him ill. He apparently considered Tulane but decided to pursue his educat...

Re: It's Official-Will Hall New OC

I was a bit surprised by this hire. Based on the advice I was giving WF from my seats at Yullman during the Navy game my wife told me that I should be the OC. I assumed when I heard about the opening that she had some inside information and was not being snide. Did anyone besides my wife hear that ...

Among many problems, he has zero knowledge about how to play or attack a zone defense—something commonly used in college basketball. MD is...

Re: 14-zip! 45 years ago

A great moment, but part and parcel of the problem: TU supporters celebrating a game that isn't in the living memory of two generations of fans. We have to go back to the 70’s and early 80’s thanks to Eamon Kelly (father of the Tulane Model) and Baby Huey Cowen. Collectively their misguided policie...

A great moment, but part and parcel of the problem: TU supporters celebrating a game that isn't in the living memory of two generations of fans. And if I remember correctly, LSU fans continued to celebrate their 1958 team for 46 years, until Saban finally won them a title.. So its not something onl...

Re: Tulane vs ULL Cure Bowl

Now we get to deal with the dainty and delicate fans from the U LA LA fan base. They will incorrectly call their second tier directional school Louisiana and UL. Since these jokers seem to not be proud of Lafayette and their Acadiana heritage by dropping Lafayette off of their name I propose that a...

Re: Tulane vs ULL Cure Bowl

This will be one of the lowest attended and watched bowl games, maybe ever. Too many participation trophy bowls that 6-6 teams are basically guaranteed a post-season game. I just hope we don't go out and get embarrassed Sad but true. This is a prime example of too many bowl games. I’m sorry but I’m...

Re: The 2018 Bowl Poll

I guess this will be Willie’s first bowl game as a head coach. He had already left when Ga Southern played their first bowl game in 2015. And Sam Houston State went to the FCS finals, twice, with Willie, but not a bowl.
