Re: Houston Crushes Tulane 85-50 makes it 14 straight losses

And to think in his last win at Tulane our former head coach Ed Conroy beat Houston to advance to the AAC semifinals.
A side note he received an academic bonus each of his years there for GPA/APR performance.

Re: Houston Crushes Tulane 85-50 makes it 14 straight losses

I and most GB’s wisely decided to go to the baseball game. Meanwhile someone pointed this out while I was at the Turchin. Houston made 17 "uncontested" 3 point shots. Tulane now has the worst record D-1 basketball record in the country out of 315+ teams - 2 others have 3 wins but less losses than Tu...

Re: George Washington Series

I’m sure I sound like a Debbie downer but I don’t feel any better about this season after that bullpen performance Not sure why but the umps strike zone shrunk for Pellerin. I wouldn’t worry much most of his pitches were right there. He throws a low strike and the ump favored high strikes. I have n...

Good catch on UCONN. I never thought to check them in baseball.

AAC Opening Day only Tulane and WSU have been to the CWS

Up until recently (prior to Wichita St joining) only one school in the AAC has appeared in the CWS and that was Tulane in 2001 and 2005.
It would benefit the conference greatly if we could send a few more to Omaha. I for one am looking forward to baseball after this disaster of a basketball season.

Re: Mike Dunleavy is now worst of the worst

Quote from Jeff Duncan TP article:
The 4-18 Green Wave will need to win one of their final eight games in the American Athletic Conference to avoid the first winless conference season in the 109-year history of the program.

Re: Dannen “100% Dunleavy returns” Ed Daniels with the story

Ed quoted Dannen saying Tulane doesn’t recruit JC’s

2019 class already has commitments from 6-10 Henri Langton, the No. 18 junior college prospect in the nation.

Re: Mike Dunleavy is now worst of the worst

These are not opinions. Records speak for themselves. I would say that when Dunleavy was hired, we expected wins. Wins from the result of splash hire recruiting and experienced coaching. I am not saying 30 wins. I am just saying wins. We haven't seen it yet. Basketball turnarounds occur within 2-3 ...

Re: WBB 2018-19 Season thread

Lost again. This time to Tulsa 72-67. It’s a shame because we had such a great start to the year. Things have since went off course. I hate to say this but the NIT now unlikely. It would have been a good year to challenge UCONN because it’s their weakest team since joining the AAC. Even USF is not ...

But with a stadium that seats 23,690 we will never approach greatness, even at the G5 level. We do miss Tulane Stadium and the SEC and schedules like those 1970`s schedules....
It seats 27,962

Re: Mike Dunleavy is now worst of the worst

If we give MD another year we will fall into the same trap we did in years 1 and 2 and delay the rebuild another 2 years. Year 1 MD took over a team coming off of a 12 win (3 conf) season that lost Dabney (a career 38% shooter) and Dylan O. He added Ona Embo, Slater and Reyes. He inherited Reynolds...

Re: AAC Baseball Coaches Poll & Preseason Practice Thread

We were 86 in RPI last year. If a basketball team went from 86 to the NCAAs, no one would notice. In 2014, we were 148th. The improvement in the assistants over Jewett's 2 seasons is significant. I think his open-mindedness and lack of ego in bringing back former Tulane people onto his staff speaks...

Re: AAC Baseball Coaches Poll & Preseason Practice Thread

I see a Regional this year. First time I’ve felt this way since Pierce’s last season. With a solid veteran ball club returning I predict they will surprise this season. What makes you think that? Blind hope? I believe pitching will be much better. Latham being here will have noticeable positive imp...
