Re: Tulane beats Fordham 63-55

tps, I had a feeling it might have been that. Were the schools made aware of this in advance? And if that was the plan from the beginning, why weren't fans made aware? I suppose it was but I didn’t realize it until when they gave them the trophy. I was under the initial impression that when we play...

Re: Tulane beats Fordham 63-55

Not sure how this was determined. https://twitter.com/FSUHoops/status/932646453276704769 Guess its P5 bias again. Couldn't have a lesser school win the inaugural tournament. http://seminoles.com/fsu-men-top-colorado-state-90-73-to-take-inaugural-jamaica-classic-title/ What?? I’m told point differen...

Re: Wave over Miami(OH.) 80-59 go to 5-0

Great to see Hoops back from the dead. The game was played the day before a holiday which could cut down on crowd size but was hoping some of the locals will start taking notice. The box score advised 1500 in attendance, up from 1300 against SELA, and 1000 against LIU, so gradual improvement. Looki...

Re: “Battle for the Rag” Once a great rivalry

I miss the rivalry greatly. It's popular around here to blame lsu for its demise. But it's Tulane's fault it became non competitive. It would have never became stale if Tulane kept playing football instead of being allowed to slide to near oblivion. I'm hopeful that the new administration and leade...

Re: Wave over Miami(OH.) 80-59 go to 5-0

Only saw the second half. Miami is the type of team we will match up really well with. They don’t have a lot of length or size, they aren’t that physical. At the same time, we also had a pretty big athleticism advantage over them. I would think they finish middle of the pack in the MAC at best. But...

“Battle for the Rag” Once a great rivalry

Nice to see the TP mention the old Tulane vs LSU football rivalry especially with Dec 1 coming up. http://www.nola.com/300/2017/11/lsu-tulane_rivalry_battle_for_the_rag_11232017.html#incart_river_mobileshort_home Does Tulane even have a football rival anymore? And what about LSU? A real shame LSU pu...

Apparently not as Irish win 67=66.

Wow. That’s too bad for the AAC. Was hoping the Shockers would have won the Maui.

Re: Wonder What They're Saying Now

I too was there on December 1, 1-9-7-3, mid field just under the over hang. I’ve been to World Series 7th games, Superbowls, and NCAA Final Four championship games, and none of them compared to that night in Tulane Stadium—not even close. I still have my 45 rpm record of Ballad Of The Green Wave. “...

Your dad looks very familiar. Oh I know him as the sportswriter. Great TP guy. I am in the same shot at the 4:06 mark in the plaid coat running in on the far left. My memory was bad because I could have sworn I kissed Coach Ellender on his bald head and actually told that story ever since. Not goin...

Need to set the record straight on Lindy Infante . Just got off the phone with a former player that played for Larry Smith and was a senior in Larry’s final year. Lindy Infante left before Larry Smith actually left. Smith was mad about it as well. Infante left during spring ball in 1980 to take a j...

I wish it counted. But had it been real LSU would have likely had refused to play us at Fogelman. Probably at Smoothie King. Either way we beat them. I applaud Wade for playing us. He made no excuses and accurately explained how LSU could have played better. (Namely take the ball inside against Tul...

Tps, that video is incredible. My father was at that game. One of the greatest nights of his life he always said. The priest for his funeral this past February talked about that game in his homily . The priest was there as a tiger fan. He said he still hasn't gotten over it. What a time to be alive...

8 years I've been a fan Rookie, you have no idea what real suffering is. :D Hahahaha I thought the same thing. Went to Tulane stadium in a stroller and the oldest season I can actually remember is 1979. I was 8. My god Im getting old. You think you're old, my senior year was 79-80. My earliest memo...
