Re: Ohio St. Crushes the ripple 49-6

there is an upside of sorts https://www.theadvocate.com/new_orleans/sports/tulane/article_1fc4d238-beb3-11e8-8449-67870f179493.html I was at the game and met some knowledgeable OSU fans. They could have scored 80 if they wanted. They choose to play the 2nd and 3rd team players the entire second hal...

Re: New Athletic Director

At this point in time academics are no longer the issue. Tulane has accepted athletes at the NCAA minimums since CJ took over. They have instituted at least 4 athlete friendly majors. They let athletes take courses at the school of continuing education The problems are the losing for almost 70 year...

Re: New Athletic Director

The excuse of Tulane not $ supporting athletics is 100% wrong. All teams have what they need and more, the salaries are more than comparable. Using money as an excuse nowadays is wrong. Yeah, the facilities are not up to par, but that is on the AD to raise the funds like everywhere else. Not only th...

Re: Bonanza for Rice Baseball

Rice added tuition in the 1950s, I believe, and this new change is now the closest that they have been to being tuition free since that time. It's true that this would further demolish Tulane baseball, but Tulane has so many concerns and so comparatively little money that there is nothing really to...

Re: Bonanza for Rice Baseball

Now on par with Stanford and Vandy. Meanwhile Tulane falls further behind. Free tuition for families making up to $130K and families making $130K-$200K can now get half of their tuition paid. https://twitter.com/kendallrogers/status/1042042608120487937?s=12 was not that long ago that Rice was tuiti...

Re: Something good happened yesterday FB

The radio broadcast have commercial breaks. And is there a contractual obligation to make those breaks as long as TV? If alternative media outlets like FB want to bid on and broadcast games, one of their calling cards should be shorter breaks and faster games. Throw the radio stations a bone and gi...

Tim, if you are ever riding by on your bike, please stop by. I could use your “geek squad “ knowledge. Thanks No problem. I pass by at least once a week. I’ll stop by and knock one day this week for sure. Want to checkout that outdoor addition you just added on. What are the benefits of chromecast?...

Re: CUSA’s UAB over Wave 31-24

I enjoyed the broadcast features too but on apple TV the picture was blurry. Sounds like a bandwidth issue. If you have a “dual band router” (uses both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi.) connect your Apple TV via the 5 GHz band. It will allow for a higher bandwidth. The 2.4 GHz is better at holding a connec...

As Buddy D would say, “Best bet of the week take Ohio St and lay the 34 points. Urban Meyer takes his suspension out on the Wave”.

Re: UAB GameDay Thread

Who and what was said by a player? I guess he thinks we are the tops because we played in the Rose Bowl in the past. We also had a president who painted his head with lead green paint. Losing to a team who restarted football two years ago! That would be impossible—-but we can do the impossible. I h...

Re: CUSA’s UAB over Wave 31-24

Coach Willie Fritz, Your team was NOT READY TO PLAY and that is squarely on you and your staff. This is YEAR THREE and is UNACCEPTABLE! Yeah, I know he isn’t going to see this but I’m pretty close to fed up with this program and for me to feel that way says quite a lot! Definitely looked that way f...

Something good happened yesterday FB

Besides VB winning..., I thought the Facebook Live broadcast was excellent. The announcers were ok but the interaction with fans in the live stream was very engaging. I also liked the announcers making comments on some of the better posts. Having no commercials between timeouts was also a welcome ch...

Re: UAB GameDay Thread

It really sucks to be a Tulane fan. After our depressing loss I had a grammar school reunion at BWW and had to watch LSU win and their fans and my former classmates go crazy.

Re: UAB GameDay Thread

UAB gave up 47pts last week. This is a bad loss. Especially since we were a favorite. We’re looking at a possible 1-5 start now.

Re: UAB Prediction Thread

Here's what my head says, and I hope I'm wrong here. UAB 27 Tulane 21 This game has all the markings of last year's game at FIU. And I don't like the Coaches and Players talking about "taking care of business against a lower team." Army and Houston (under Major Applewhite) are the biggest wins of t...

Re: UAB GameDay Thread

At half Banks is 1 for 8 for 44 yards, with 1 interception. A repeat so far of his nightmare performance of last year against FIU. Its not the coaching, its the execution. We'd have two TDs if Dauphine ran to the pylon instead of cutting down the middle of the field. Banks has thrown behind receive...
