Re: When it's Hot and U have lot's of $$$$

Beautiful park. One thing I took from those stories is that the trend of smaller seating continues. The original Globe Life Park built seated 52,000 and it was later reduced to 48,000. The new park will now seat 40,000. So 12,000 less than the original park. This is like a Rick Dickson "capacity ve...

Re: How did you become a Tulane fan?

Wow awesome story GreenLantern! I remember Shoe Town well. They were the best sponsor ever for the New Orleans Jazz NBA team. Those $2 Shoe Town Superdome Terrace tickets were the bomb! A lot of my friends would get in on those and sneak down to the floor level and watch Pistol Pete near court side....

Keep them coming. I've enjoyed reading every one.
Great topic! In fact I’d suggest that any new member should have to post to this topic first as part of the signup. And it would get rid of bots.

I can only imagine his excitement getting to call Zion Williamson’s name often this season. Great time to join the Pelicans.

Re: Graff leaving Tulane for Pels?

This probably means we’re going to get Kenny Trahan or Larry Matson as his replacement. Graff will be missed. Kenny would be great but the travel requirements would be a burdensome for him. I believe Kenny is content today with his cresentcitysports site and his current radio duties including cover...

What's he going to do with the Pels? Handle the G League team? Is Kelly leaving?
It would probably be good for his career to leave the nest.
Kelly going to ESPN

Re: Graff leaving Tulane for Pels?

Announcement coming tomorrow. Can’t possibly do Pels and Tulane. Seasons overlap. Yes. I know. Wishful thinking for baseball. But NBA basketball still going on as we approach the CWS this weekend so even baseball is a no go. Big shoes to fill I hope it works out for everyone involved. Most likely r...

Re: How did you become a Tulane fan?

Wow what a story Win! Your uncle and family was one of a kind with that dedication! Thanks for sharing! That brought back memories I had of a guy name Philip. He always went to the Tulane baseball games during the Retif era. He also was paralyzed and went to the games in wheelchair. You may remember...

Congrats! He was a good consistent player for us who didn't get the credit he deserved.
Yes. I hope he makes it to the show he’s a solid player. Played 1b very well also. Will be missed.

Re: Gozzo Signs with Phillies

One big reason we had 6 drafted is because of Kody. Every MLB team sent a scout out at least once and on most nights there were multiple scouts at every game because of him. So many of our other kids got a chance to be seen whereas that’s not always the case without a 1st rounder on your squad. “Rip...

He’ll probably transfer to Delgado where he can play immediately. He’s not going to pay Tulane tuition while sitting out for an entire year.

If I had to bet he was run off and will go where he can play immediately without sitting.
Mathis batted .164 with three home runs and 12 RBIs. He also struggled with throwing out runners.

Re: CWS #1 seed jinx continues now straight 20 years

We’re talking from 2001 forward. Getting to the CWS is once in 18 years is pathetic. Bianco is making over $1 million a year. That Ole Miss CWS stat is the laughing stock joke around the SEC. We even sent Bianco home in our last Regional appearance a few years ago. Remember all of Bertman’s champion...

Re: CWS #1 seed jinx continues now straight 20 years

Mike Bianco 18 years at Ole Miss one CWS appearance in 2014. Got sent home today after being blasted 14-1 by Arkansas.
Imagine Ole Miss with all those resources having only one CWS under Bianco. Hard to believe he still has a job.
