Re: Face slapped on ESPN Game Day

Saw that myself. Isn’t the game on CBSS and not ESPN? I predicted we’d get Cure Bowl because ESPN did not want us in solo night spot on their network due to poor ratings for our games.

Re: It's Official-Will Hall New OC

I was a bit surprised by this hire. Based on the advice I was giving WF from my seats at Yullman during the Navy game my wife told me that I should be the OC. I assumed when I heard about the opening that she had some inside information and was not being snide. Did anyone besides my wife hear that ...

Any Tulane fan who gets cocky about any matchup we have in football is pretty stupid. We have proven for 60 years no game is not loseable.

Re: 14-zip! 45 years ago

I really liked the LSU announcer John Ferguson who was a very fair one. He would get as excited for visiting teams’ big plays as he would for the Tigahs. “Mickelson and Arthur block we’ll”, he proclaimed after Bynum’s long run,
I only wish somebody had the Bruce Miller broadcast for that game.

Re: The 2018 Bowl Poll

My prediction: Due to lack of public interest and fan base, we will be buried in the Sat 1:30 slot against ULL. That way ESPN can get the other teams with a little more interest in the stand alone week night games. Backup prediction: Frisco bowl against a directional Michigan school that won’t fill ...

Re: The 2018 Bowl Poll

I like Milton the UCF QB and wish him a speedy and full recovery....but I also think, the Freshamn QB brings something to the table Milton does not, and that's "wheels"...I actually think UCF may be better without Milton.... May end up better in the long run, but the backup can’t possibly be as goo...

Re: The 2018 Bowl Poll

USA Today predicts Tulane vs Okie St in armed Forces Bowl. Good matchup in prestige. Bad matchup in style. Okie St would throw all over us. Could offense keep up?

Re: How Many Regular Season Games Will Tulane Win?

Did anyone notice two of the biggest plays keeping drives alive were two heads up dump offs to backs by McMillan as he was being sacked. As we've all noted if they would just call a few dumps to backs it would help immensely. I think they called one yesterday an Mc McMillan threw behind Amare Jones ...

Imagine that, a Tulane basketball team preaching running running, running on offense, the reverts back and can’t shoot. Where have we seen this before?

It’s not the coach, just like in every sport, it’s the school not attracting recruits. Lack of commitment, fans, wins, etc.

Re: FSU Game Thread

Guys FSU had Florida down by 30 until Florida scored the last 10 points in the game. They have one of the bigger teams in the country and play really good defense. I thought we would lose by 30. Overall this was a nice effort by the team. Now let’s see if they can build on this.

My guess is that those writers, just as we've seen with some Tulane TP beat writers, are disgruntled with being assigned USF game.

Re: Is this receiver open?

Is there a video of this? Can’t see if there is another defender to the right in the picture.
Assuming there isn’t another one, this is just another example of the QB’s weakness in reading the defense and his propensity to want to leave the pocket too early. I’m all for giving the next guy a chance.

Tulane coach burnout

It has happened by the third year of every coach since Bowden. They take the job because of the money but without the real knowledge of just how challenging the job is due to lack of respectful the program, no fan base, the education challenges in recruiting. Etc. By the third year they realize what...

JV offense is charitable. JV high school maybe. I honestly think Tulane has the talent to be better on offense with a good scheme. I don’t think the coaches bring much to the table in the way of intellect. I don’t think the coaches can run a more complex scheme.

No imagination at all. QBs have no chance. Because we don’t dump short passes to TEs and RBs including screens, opponents can blitz on 3rd and 4th downs and long every time without fear of getting burned. It really is high schoolish.

Do you think Fritz spent the last two weeks preparing for Memphis and pretty much ignored Ohio St? If so, it was a great decision.
