With all due respect to Coach Fritz, IMHO Jonathan will not be playing on Sundays. Would like to be wrong.

One can only dream but I would love to see Goat, Latham & AC running our program.
That would be awesome, I'm sure we'd be competing at minimum for a regional most years.
Still tough to recruit at Tulane due to high tuition and academics. Miss St can literally take anybody.

Welcome aboard. Played for a good HS coach.
That HS coach grew up a huge Tulane fan even during the lean 60's. Good friend of mine. Great coach and good guy.

Re: AAC Baseball Tourney Thread

While you too argue over who's right and who's wrong, Tulane cashed another AAC check despite horrible results and as bad an overall athletic program in terms of funding, fan interest, brand and winning, as there is in the country. I continue to be embarrassed to wear my Tulane gear in public. Hey g...

Re: Fritz Contract extension to 2023

I guess Dannen needs a history lesson. Bennie Ellender got a 10 year extension once and was fired two years later. Tulane was on the hook for 8 years. Funny thing was Tulane kept sending him a check for years after he was paid off. No one at Tulane thought to investigate. True story. Only at Tulane...

LVB, you know what, I will take your criticism and admit that maybe I was wrong to rain on your parade so I will apologize. I am a 1974 grad and a Tulane fan since mid sixties. It is just VERY frustrating that at this time women's volleyball is the sport we have to hang our hat on. My post was more ...

Re: Andy Cannizaro

I ask again, moving forward, would anyone put $10,000 annually on Tulane making the NCAAs regardless of who the coach is? Or would you take the bet on not making the NCAAs?
I'd like to be wrong on this but I would have to bet the No postseason option.

Re: Andy Cannizaro

Guy, my honest opinion is it makes no difference who the coach is. The NCAA rule changes regarding transfers and scholarships along with Tulane's high tuition will hinder the program forever. We can all hope and dream and pray but my opinion is we're done as a real contender in baseball. May catch ...

Re: Volleyball 2018

Can't believe how exciting it is to have a chance to have a pretty good volleyball team. Not trying to belittle the women or their sport (i have a daughter who played volleyball) but until Tulane gets the big sports right this is not going to move the donations needle for me.

Re: Schloss on financial aid

Unless the scholarship rules change, we won’t see high tuition private schools competing for championships very often. Has nothing to do with coaching. Few parents will pay the difference in tuition between the privates and public universities.

Re: UNO Game 2 Thread

We not only suck but we are dragging conference brethren down with us as our RPI must suck. At what point does AAC step in and tell Tulane to step it up or face ejection from conference. Remember the inclusion of Tulane broke up the old Big East as the powers anticipated Tulane basketball would cost...

Summer of 1965 before I entered Jesuit as an 8th grader, I took a week long trip with a Jesuit group chaperoned by a couple of coaches to Dallas Six Flags then Houston for Astro’s games and we all got to meet Rusty on the field before a couple of games. A great memory of a great man who lived the Je...

Tulane Athletics

As I’ved Discussed before on this forum, I have taken on an almost apathetic attitude toward my beloved alma mater’s athletic department. I glance in at occasional results but find myself expecting and accepting losses without much feeling. I am retired now after a fairly successful career and now h...

The reasons behind the poor recruiting have been in place for decades. Don't hold your collective breaths looking for magical recruiting classes all of a sudden. When Dunleavy retires, word will get back to us through the media that he felt like his hands were tied recruiting to Tulane, the same mes...

Re: Temple ends Tulane's season 82-77 in the AAC Tourney

I would just like to say that as discouraging as Tulane athletics is, for the most part the athletes give great effort and tonight was another example. They have heart, but lack talent. This losing in all the major sports programs is the result of poor recruiting brought on by a number of issues, mo...

It's time to admit that the rule changes regarding transfers and scholarship limitations combined with high tuition has done irreparable harm to Tulane baseball. I decided a couple of years ago that I would criticize coaching on strategy but not overall performance. When all programs struggle for years and years under different coaches, it's pretty obvious to me that the problem isn't necessarily the coach's fault. Tulane admin needs to look in the mirror ha...

Tulane takes game 1 with a 7-1 win. True freshman Josh Bates had a great first start. Threw 5 no hit innings. Pellerin, Bjorngjeld and McAffer were good too. Green has good stuff but he has to harness it if he's going to be a contributor. Artigues and Spoon stayed hot at the plate. Johnson and Hoes...
