Re: Can we just be a basketball school now?

Think what we could have accomplished if we hadn't built the stupid stadium. Could have had 1st class basketball arena.

DB Ishmael Burdine, Slidell HS, committed to Mizzou last night. I know Tulane had him on their radar.

I wouldn't put a lot of stock in the stats considering every pitcher threw 1 inning.

UR right. Volleyball, bowling, beach volleyball all matter as much as the big three: Football and men's and women's basketball.
Unfortunately, we aren't good in anything.

Re: Potential head football coach candidates search

Willie Fritz, for better or worse, will be the Tulane football coach in 2019. Anyone that thinks otherwise is kidding themselves. And Dannen isn't wasting his time trying to destroy Tulane baseball. That gets done with little or no effort. Let's hope Latham makes a difference on that front. Meanwhi...

Re: Potential head football coach candidates search

Auburn fans started a go-fund me page this morning for the buyout of Malhzains contract. People are delusional if they think WF will be replaced. The Pres doesn't really care about athletics, the AD is the one who hired WF and he comes from a small time program. WF will be here a long time. Besides,...

Re: Wave Beats The Wave,Cincinnati wins 37-21

Fritz and his assistant coaches should have stayed at Georgia Southern. They had no business at a higher level based on their coaching abilities or lack thereof. Of course, from Fritz's vantage point, he made out well getting a salary at Tulane that I would guess is at least double or maybe even tr...

Re: Cincinnati GameDay Thread

Need more athletes who happen to be students, not the other way around. Cinci was #1 last year in our conference recruiting and #2 in Fickel 1st year. We were not in the top 5 either year. Fritz was #3 in the AAC this season. The problem is that the players are running a JV offense. We have real ta...

Re: Cincinnati GameDay Thread

About what I predicted. Cinci has better players & a better offensive scheme. McMillan will get better. He's used to blockers that can block and receivers that can catch. We won't face a better defense after today. 2 weeks to get healthy before playing 2 winnable opponents, SMU & Tulsa.

Re: Tulane Tames the Tigers 40-24

I'm interested in everyone's thoughts on the post-game locker room celebration with Fritz body-surfing. From one perspective, I'm delighted at the enthusiasm. From another, this seems gaudy. I would prefer that this pretentiousness be withheld until we win our division and/or a bowl game. There is ...

in the name of Rodney King.... "can't we all, just get along " Impossible. One would have to admit one is wrong and sorry to say we would make the Sugar Bowl before that happens. Colorado is making a lot of $ in the PAC12 & they are recruiting California really well. Was out there a few weeks ago, they have 1st class facilities to boot. I can't see them going anywhere.

Memphis has 11 Louisiana players on their roster and their fans traditionally travel well . Will feel like a home game for the Tigers.

Memphis 55-15.
but can they take off work on Friday for the festivities

Bowden never had to worry about saying stuff like that. He only had to worry about beating teams like USM and Louisville. I am watching the LA Tech vs LSU game and am very impressed by the job Skip Holtz is doing as Tech’s head coach. I like Tech’s offense and their play calling so far in the first half. I wish Holtz was Tulane’s head coach. Tech has better players and better coached players. And most of all their uni...

The problem is those type of coaches now see this job as a coach killer rather than as a stepping stone. When they come and see the lack of facilities they see they have no chance.

Agree 100%. I'm convinced Nick Saban could not win here.
